  6. What does me name mean???? We do Halloween big time here at our dwelling. A year after we moved here we we really went all out and decorated (been about 8 years now). I held a "halloween hunt" for a bunch of the kids in the neighborhood. It was a hunt for rubber gloves filled with goodies hidden all over the yard, including the graveyard. When I sent out the invitations, I signed them "The Mad Woman of Wendover" (Wendover being the street we live on). I played that I was quite mad when I met them. "Come into the graveyahd, awl me friends ahr in there.....I hears them talk t'me I doos....." (While holding a candle lit lantern in one hand and a skull in the other..) I have been "Mad Woman" ever since...and Cheryl is me real name.

  10. We'll be up there on Saturday that way our bilgerat can rest up on Sunday.
  11. What I post is generally me. I did in fact meet Firethorn in person but did not smother his face in my chest, especially if I am meeting someone for the first time (with my son and hubby there too). We did talk and I did encourage him to get an outfit together. He understood that my posts were "role-playing" since he role-plays games. I never want to mislead anyone and do always try to be nice to everyone. Me sis SeaLegs and I haven't fought in a long time and anything that we post at each other are just in fun. Yes we are actually sisters and different as day and night. I brought her into this knowing that she would be interested and it is something we both can do (she wasn't into the Klingon thing). If I posts anything out of order, I do hope that someone will let me know so I don't do it again. Rhumba, you are doing a great job! Mayhaps we will meet someday.
  12. An you wouldn't believe what shell I had to drag her out of....but she twer ready fer it!!!
  13. Isn't your persona a broader extention of yourself? I can be playful as the next lass. I could even warm up a guy's cold nose, but there is a right time and place for that sort of thing. Both my husband and I stress to our 5 year old that we can't be pirates all the time, especially at school. He can get into trouble at school that way, but there are other times when we can and have fun too. At work I don't hide the fact that I dress as a pirate and go to events. Sometimes a little of that persona comes out but I don't cover it over. They actually get a kick out of it but don't count me as weird either. Another job I had a couple of years ago thought me as weird because I was a costumer and dressed as a Klingon. At least I was having fun living life and not pretending to be "putting on airs like high society" as they were and still are. Their lives are rather lonely and dull. Am I in Character??? I think it just depends on my mood at the time....
  14. Ah, the drip twern too bad... as long as ya remembered to put some cotton pads on yer forehead before putting on the headpiece. I was lucky, I always used me own hair and not any wigs. My hair is way too thick for a wig. If you goes here: Klingon Feast You will find pics of us doing a small spoof of Lady Marmalade (about 3rd pic down), I am in the green. Like I said, I have now retired from doing that. Piracy is a lot more fun!!
  15. As one that has done the "Klingon" thing(now retired), whenever anyone in our group would propose that we go as "Ancient Klingon's" I would always vote no. I draw the line at Klingons being at renfaires. Some of our group did go as Klingons at the MDRF and sang with the Pyrates Royale. (We had some sea shanties geared to space.) I did not participate. Now PARF has their Fantasy weekends around Halloween. Some of our group wants to do that then, but the drive from Baltimore is a killer when wearing vinyl and it is a bit warm outside. Trek is dying.....LONG LIVE PIRATES!!!!!
  16. I wished I knew bout this about a month ago.....Arrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!
  17. PyratePhil, send me an email. I gots a bag o' them pins. Mayhaps we meet before then an I can gives ya one. Or mayhaps mail one.....
  18. At least now that we have the official Pyracy buttons, we will be able to tell who our fellow pirates arrrrr. We will be at PA but donna think we will be at MD, unless o' course me sis 'n I leave him and the bilge rats home.....hmmmm me thinks a plan is brewin'.
  19. This is along the piratical lines. The Sunday after Thanksgiving I found a cockatiel outside of my house. Now mind you I am in Maryland and it was a bit chilly that day. I had heard some bird noises from outside all morning but just chalked it up to that maybe there was a bird just outside my son's bedroom window. It wasn't until after lunch that my son wanted me to see the "bird's nest". The nest was actually the mess in my gutters that need to be cleaned. I did happen to look down and saw a white ball. I thought it was a dove, but when I got closer I noticed the yellow on top. I ran in to tell me other half about the cockatiel. He said I should try to catch it. It didn't take long, I took about two steps and reached down. It allowed me to pick it up and I held it for about 15 minutes. Luckily our neighbor had a parakeet cage we could borrow. I placed calls to the local animal hospitals and left my name and number. I have not heard a thing. Friends of ours gave us a cage two weeks ago. My son has named the bird "Sweety Raghetti". It is a male and very friendly. I have never seen a bird want it's head rubbed so much. We now have a pet. Now all I have to do is get it's wings clipped, train it to stay on me shoulder and say "pieces of eight".....
  20. East coast says you?....Did I hear Maryland mentioned??? Hmmmmm, twill be a sight fer sore eyes, 'n I can't wait to see her.
  21. Did someone mention steamed crab....with Old Bay???
  22. Sorry Firethorn luv, but it be both me and me mates berfday...we gots plans.
  23. I have seen some that go just fer the drinking an partying during and after. Like me sis SeaLegs says, we would rather have a drink or so, but the afterwards is a wind-down an mellow out kind of thing. To tired to party all night long.
  24. 'Tis a shock. He will be greatly missed. Fair winds an may we meet on Fiddlers Green.
  25. I was there on Saturday, and Jack was up on the stage during the Ultimate Joust. There were definately three Jacks running around on Saturday. The one with the fair, another was dressed all in black, and another that my son got his picture taken with. For any who went on Saturday and saw the little pirate with part of his face as a skeleton, that was my son! I will have to post a pic soon.
