Sword, armor found buried inside remains of James
Lady Alyx replied to Story's topic in Captain Twill
Story, I agree with you about it being buried, but if they left the fort like that "starving winter" scenario. I am inclined to think they did not want it to fall into any enemy types 'hands' to find it to add to their own aid. -
I would sail with Jack, because if you look at it like your work experience you have every day and over the years. Who would you rather be supervised over. Someone who is scary and hard on you or someone who funny and works with you? Don't get me wrong I love the strong and cunning character of Barbossa, but if you ask this type of question I will favor Jack. (also at this time I have not seen POTC3 so I don't know how Barbossa and Jack are in this film to add to my pick)

Pirate Master! So, you want to be a Pyrate!
Lady Alyx replied to Cheeky Actress's topic in Pyrate Pop
So far I like the show. I don't seriously think those where poisonous snakes...could you imagine the Insurance they would have to take out on this show. Also the bit about the part that there are sharks in the water was interesting. A participant on the Wiki Board for Pirate Master from Dominica said there were no sharks in their waters. I don't think they would seriously place the cast in danger for insurance reasons. I think it is trumped up for the audience to appeal to the danger aspect. I like Captain Joe Don...he can be a bit arrogant but you have to be top dog. He looks really fine in that coat and hat with no shirt on standing at the helm in the breeze..mmm mmm mmm mmm mmm! -

I actually liked it. It was a bit drawn after the POTC theme for sure...but that was okay. I liked the decorative tidbits: the chest in the beginning, the skeletons with swords in them, the iron maiden. The ship is beautiful indeed. I liked JD for captain because he was in the navy for a bit and knew a bit of know how. John I felt bad for because he figured out the locks and found the treasure chest...but his cockey attitude ticked everyone off...the last straw was stealling the compasses. I am sure the crew did not look at that as a clever move, but a move against the good of the ship. People have to use psychology to win this one. It will be interesting to see the second show to get the gist of this one. I wonder how many twists there is to being captain and finding loot. -
Morgan I like your idea!!!!!! Probably similar how the Ren Faire got started.

Thar you go....another idea take a ship dock it and transform it...wow! I would go....just think Queen Mary....but a Pirate ship...WOW...FUN!

I think it could be done if you found yourself a good spot. Take for example and you know about this place Rumba...is Ports of Call in San Pedro. I think you mentioned or one of the other gals here say it is totally a shambles. They used to have a pirate ship a long long time ago. A g/f I worked with in the 80's used to tell me about the Pirate parties on board and it was XXX. LOL! Let's take for example this village that has all the shops and restrooms already. A large restaurant that could be the main place for gatherings, meetings, classes/lessons and of course great home cooked pirate food! No mamby pamby stuff and realistic. This village was already in the harbor and boats and ships could dock to it. I havent been there in ages but if I was Donald Trump I would develop it ( since he is already re-doing the golf course around the corner from there already). I would say if someone could find a portside shopping village like this or a wharf that is ready to be re-invested in and brought about and you had a good local connection to the cities it would be a boon. Here is a pic of Ports of Call...I dont know how it looks now. Oh I also just found an online camera for them... View Cam at Ports o Call

I think $1,500.00 is way too much for a ticket, so I will wait till it comes out to theatre or even DVD.

PUT THE PRIVY'S WHERE THERE IS PLENTY OF DRAINAGE, SHADE AND LESS DUST AND DIRT....(whew...I hate stepping in wet when you gots to go to the potty!) Plant shade trees...keeping in mind when they loose their leaves or needles. Before the shade trees are big enough..you may want to invest on some large canvas's that can make for shady awning areas. Old caravan tents? Gypsy caravan's? Ale stands with an act or comedy(hardly see that anymore!) Colors don't forget the color's! I am always attracted to the bold striking colors at faire. I used to see more windsocks and flags with colorful streamers at old faire. If you have an area with a great breeze and trees is a good spot for massage and oils and the like...used to be like that in Witche's corner at old faire. Yes the bellydancers would def be where the tents are! (Ching ca ching..snaps zills)
