If yer fevered and feelin' quite ill Don't rely on Carter's Little Pill Take a quick shot of me You'll feel great, you will see 'Cause the best cure's to have PyratePhil

One odd thing about the Osprey site- They don't have any pics of the figures??? Some day, I want to get to the point where I'm casting my own minis...but that's fer me olden years...when there's less skirt ta be chasin' and foes ta be bracin'...

Be careful what ye wish for, m'lad. I wish, I wish, I wish... By the by, ma'am - I can't recall seein', nor can I find through "Search", the Pirate BBB section ye mentioned - could ye please steer me to it? Thank ye. das - Thanks fer the review! I'm trying to place in my mind's eye exactly where they were located at PARF - were they the ones at the top o' th' hill, or the ones goin' UP th' hill, or... ...so much leather, so little time... Mick- Thank ye, sire! I had me eye on one o' his baldrics, the one wot had the fancy leather work and brass oval buckle... They also has a set o' gloves, that be a bit fem-lookin' to me, but still...(lowerin' his voice inta th' manly registers)...they were interestin'...hope ta do somethin' similiar with me own gauntlets. Madam LaRue - Oh, thank you...(blushing)...oh, you meant...oops, my bad... Duchess - Not sure about bonin' bodices (...well...actually.... ), but I DO know I look fearsome STRANGE in 'em, so shan't be seekin' to buy one...but thank ye neverthenonethemind!

Said the lass with big eyes, while departin', "I had NO idea what I be startin'", Though her feminine wiles Brought out their pyrate smiles 'T'were her treasures they all were a'chartin'...

That's really neat - never heard THAT one before. But you realize that now, we'd have to question whether pyrates had parrots at all... G of F - That's one problem I've always had with citations and research - you can quote the Devil for Scriptural purposes. No matter what position you hold, with the advent of tools like the 'net, you can produce SOME record of whatever you like, even if it is "false". Like religion, politics and sex, some things are best taken on faith.

I'm really surprised at that. Maybe it's just the way they photograph them, but the Foundry's look cheesier. But I'll take yer word on it...I don't have ANY of them ... yet... I used to work on the metal D&D figures years ago, but also haven't touched them in a while. Since my son is getting into some of the newer ones (LOTR scenarios), we're now on the project of building one of the Keeps (forgot the name - not really into LOTR much - it's the one that's surrounded by mountains, if that helps) so he can game. Thanks for the link idea - no sweat, I can Google it out...

...but thet were th' year I did all me experiencen'!!!

...which reminds me o' th' endin' o' th' famous limerick - ...when he knocked them together they played "Stormy Weather" And lightning shot ...etc. etc...

Yes, seems like they made the decision to move the Fest from where it started last year ( I agree, a beautiful spot) to a local park that has a rep as a place you don't go to after sundown...and sometimes, even before it... ...but by th' same token, I can't imagine any serious bad guys would go up against a bunch o' Pyrates thet be armed ta th' gills!

Well, funny thing - My friend spent some time in the lower states - maybe she picked up the coyote thing there - but as you said, fox, coyote, and wolf are all brothers.

LOL! ....and he will never want for love or affection!!

Sorry about the sea slug, etc - maybe they didn't pierce the right place! I think it's another case of recycling eons-old acupuncture points in the ear (auricular acupuncture), of which there are at least 100...a few of which often help with vertigo, seasickness, smoking cessation, etc. But to pull that off as the reason for all, or even most, of the pyrates to pierce - no, I don't buy that either. Although acupuncture was an old science by the 1600-1700's, there was still the frenzied Chinese effort to hide behind their borders and have no interaction with the lowly, decadent West. Hardly a climate for passing out free acupuncture charts to a bunch of pyrates in the Tropics...

Funny you use that as an example - An Inuit friend of mine said that I'm the Coyote (trickster who nonetheless teaches a lesson)

Could it have come from Aesop's Fables... "The Fox Who Had Lost His Tail A FOX caught in a trap escaped, but in so doing lost his tail. Thereafter, feeling his life a burden from the shame and ridicule to which he was exposed, he schemed to convince all the other Foxes that being tailless was much more attractive, thus making up for his own deprivation. He assembled a good many Foxes and publicly advised them to cut off their tails, saying that they would not only look much better without them, but that they would get rid of the weight of the brush, which was a very great inconvenience. One of them interrupting him said, "If you had not yourself lost your tail, my friend, you would not thus counsel us." (Translated by George Fyler Townsend) Seems to be a certain character link between the fox in the story and certain types of rogues, ones who seem to go from one adventure to another, oft at the skin of their teeth
