Yep, POTC was a breath of fresh air period. It's just a good ol' fashioned Disney movie, and if ye want historical, don't watch Disney movies. They're not precisely taking it to narrow with "Historical truth". What they do best is make/create entertainment, and POTC is that!

I can highly recommend this movie with which Geoffrey Rush won his only (should be more...) Oscar! It's very touching, esp. towards the end. I must say, he showes up somewhere in the middle (and briefly at the beginning, after which the story goes back to remember what happened before), and from that moment on you're stuck, it's so great what he does. The end is totally unespected and more touching then anything. It left me with many different emotions.

Good for you :) Here i saw something about a pirate performance today, but it was for children, that's the way it always is. Most Dutch are so boring, i hate to say it but it's "Be normal, that's made enough". I hope some day it will change, good luck to you :)

So true, others did it *blush* silly me, it was just when reading it for a moment you're shocked, some are just worse then others! Burning of people, most notibly "whitches", it's the most horrible thing i think. Yeah...people can do awful things to each other

Awwww poor Jack.. Barbossa severing his pretty head would be more heröic though I don't have anything against mr Sparrow by the way.. 'just want Barbossa to have his revenge but in the end, i'd love to see them make up and become a team, and then in the third movie make the world unsafe as THE biggest, and most fearsome pirate team in the world, both with their own grand ship..*sigh* nice thought that is. No kidding? I´ve been too focused on just Barbossa´s face i guess.. Geoffrey looks fine to me, i always liked a rugged look, but he could be a bit better build, he´s very thin, but Barbossa, he is just a classicly beautyful man, that is my opinion :) Uhm...are we thinking of the same Barbossa, from POTC? I do think, and i have said it always, he´s got a more human side to him. I know he´s pretty bad, downright mean sometimes but he does have honor, and he does have some goodness in him, otherwise he just wouldn´t be petting no monkey, and it´s just there... I feel so sorry for him when he makes the accord with Jack, am i alone in that? He seems very happy with the thought of working with Jack, his own little fleet etc and when Jack says `Sorry , i forgot you give the orders`he has this happy look about his face´.. And then mr Sparrow betrayed him. OK; he marooned Jack etc, i know but i felt sorry for him there... Not at all.... Barbossa makes me drool each day in my life these days..as do the fanfics with him in it....

Yes, i agree, it seems everyone takes it for "normal" that Barbossa and his were cursed and walking around in the moonlight looking like skeletons, yet find it unbelievable he could get back to life What's up with that, i think i know..maybe not on this board, but the others it's surely because more are Jack fans and just hate Barbossa to come back, effectively making Jack's victory a non victory! But, he'll probably kill Barbossa again..him being the hero and all that. Would be nice if they both went..kinda making it less hard to witness for the Barbossa fans I've been trying to get a good shot of that necklace of his for ages, where did you see it so clearly? Do you happen to have a screencapture of it? I did get this: I still wonder what it is, no doubt it's a fang but it's painted, maybe something indian or aztec too? AHUM, let me be the first I'm Dutch and i love pirate movies, and heck, i'm getting more and more into it, pyracy ..the whole works. I've got a few good books waiting for me, but need to find the peace of mind to read them, have started one though I'm desperately looking for some European pals who love Pyracy too, if only to be able to meet sometimes in the summer or even just write or call..whatever. It s*ucks, sofar not many from the Netherlands :) I'm a big fan, POTC and trying to read up on real pyracy of the golden age too, but right now life is a bit to hectic to read much. I love it though, and i'm getting into it deeper and deeper, kinda addictive, don't you find? So where abouts in Germany are you? When gewünst kann ich auch shon ein bischen Deutsch, aber bin nicht perfect Ich bin in die nahe von Arnhem, Duiven, auch nicht weit von Emmerich :) Grüssgott!

He does have the character down pretty well, but heck i miss the "Sparrow smile", cute as pie and it's nowhere near in this guy, and that rhymes I love the end, "Who's Johnny baby" OOPS...

Most of all i'd like to see Barbossa get his revenge etc etc etc, but Jack's the big hero and no way will they kill him, of let him get killed in the movie i mean, so i'd say Bootstrap coming back would be cool. I'll just let things take another cause in fanfictions, isn't fiction fun, anything goes!
