Black Hearted Pearl replied to FannyP's topic in Pyrate Pop
That was funny and I do believe that JD had experienced the treasure chest incident just recently, being on the press junket. -
Aye mate, I'd leased my yacht to Disney for a POTC cast member's dog, especially if it was JD. Black Hearted Pearl's Yacht We'll tie the little yapper up to the mast.

That picture really does capture your essence, Cap'n. I hope your surgery goes well and you're back soon sailing the warm seas of the caribbean.
-
As much as I'm interested and WOULD spend the extra bucks, reality is that my boys would destroy such a treasure as to render it worthless. Be that as it may, I'm going to try for one anyway.
-
I want to see them swab the deck and eliminations are done the drunken the sailor way. What do you do with a drunken sailor.......

Sir, I do believe your are exaggerating. For I remember seeing you and your mast was not huge, modest I would say and your rigging, well, let's just say "no reefing needed".

THE CAPTAIN IS ON DECK! Now that I have your attention, let me remind you (nice way of saying "Order") that we are all here to play nicely together. There will be sources coming out of the woodwork on this project. The only source that counts is the FINAL CUT OF THE MOVIE. Until then, it's all just SPECULATION (or rumor for those gramatically impaired). For speculative example: if Keith Richards fell out of a tree and died, the director may decide to cut him from the movie. Then again, maybe not.

Aye mateys, I've seen "Pirates of the Great Salt Lake" and met the writers and directors. Also having been baptised mormon, I can honestly say, this movie is not about religion. It's about people who decide to embrace the piratical lifestyle and are shunned by their family and peers for doing so. In the end, the story vindicates the pirate lovers. I shan't tell you anymore as the writers and producers are in talking stages for major distribution. It is a fun sincere movie worth seeing. I think we all will be able to relate to it.

Bahamas orders man lashed with cat-o'-nine-tails By John Marquis Wed Oct 11, 7:53 AM ET NASSAU, Bahamas, Oct 10 (Reuters Life!) - A man convicted of trying to rape an 83-year-old woman was sentenced to eight lashes with a cat-o'-nine-tails, a punishment used by the British Navy in the 18th century and reinstated in the Bahamas 15 years ago. ADVERTISEMENT Altulus Newbold, 34, was sentenced on Friday to 16 years in prison after being found guilty of burglary, attempted rape and causing harm. Justice Jon Isaacs ordered that he receive four lashes of the whip at the start of his sentence and four upon his release, but suspended the punishment for three weeks pending a possible appeal. The cat, a whip made of knotted cords, leaves flesh wounds and is used on the offender's back by a prison guard. It was outlawed in the Bahamas many years ago, but reinstated in the former British colony in 1991 in the face of rising crime. Attorney General Allyson Maynard-Gibson supported the use of the cat and said it was retained only for the most "egregious" cases. "I think the public is pleased to see the determination of our courts to see punishment meted out swiftly," she said. Newbold was accused of breaking into a woman's home on Cat Island in July 2004 and trying to have sexual intercourse with her. The woman told the court that she grabbed Newbold's genitals and "mashed" them. He bit her to make her let go and then fled the scene. Newbold apologized after the verdicts were handed down. A spokesman for the attorney general's office said the cat was last used in 2000 on a child rapist. That was the first time it had been used since 1994. Former Assistant Police Commissioner Paul Thompson said the cat was always considered an effective form of punishment. "A long-serving prison governor told me that prisoners who received the cat never returned to prison. He considered it the ultimate deterrent," Thompson said.

I'm with Red Maria on this one; replace the Mark Twain with the Black Pearl (it's closer than the flying dutchman) and have the Columbia and the BP have cannon battles!

Squeek, squeek. Tom Sawyer Island, about an ADHD kid who runs away with a man who was enslaved. This evokes warm and fuzzy family thoughts all the way around. Hmmm, Pirates plundering and pillaging, treasure hunting, not paying taxes, escaping slavery...Now this is good family fun, I say.

Walking the plank, I'm sure!

Of course, there were pirates! The question becomes, "What did they look like?" To know that, you will have to visit the Captain Twill forum.
