  9. You should have took a picture of the guy with his cell phone. I understand it's illegal now in California to talk on your cell phone and drive at the same time. You probably saved the guy a ticket.
  10. ANAHEIM, Calif. - - As Disneyland hosts a summer filled with buccaneers lodgings fit for a pirate king – or a loyal fan of Pirates of the Caribbean – can now be found in the elegant “Pirates of the Caribbean Suite” atop the Sierra Tower of the Disneyland Hotel at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. The Disneyland Resort celebrates the popular film franchise with newly added enhancements to the attraction as the crafty Captain Jack Sparrow, his ruthless and cunning nemesis Barbossa, and Davy Jones, the legendary ruler of the ocean depths, have joined the “Wildest crew to ever sack the Spanish Main” in the classic Disney Park adventure. After a three month closure for the enhancements the attraction is now officially re-opened to guests at Disneyland and in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, the hit film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl or the new film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (in theaters nationwide July 7) can now live-out their pirate dreams at the Disneyland Hotel in the all-new “Pirates of the Caribbean Suite” (formerly one of the hotel’s Presidential Suites). The specially redesigned suite is intended to fully immerse guests, providing family lodging that combines modern conveniences with décor, furnishings and ambience that evoke the fun, whimsy and adventure of the films and attraction. “This is the kind of experience you could only have at a Disney resort,” says Tony Bruno, vice president, Disneyland Resort Hotels. “Along with our other rooms and suites, the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean Suite’ enables guests to feel they’re really living the Disney entertainment experience.” The “Pirates of the Caribbean Suite” experience begins as you ring the doorbell, which plays, “Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate’s Life For Me,” and enter the living room. There you will find Old World rugs covering dark-stained hardwood floors, with wooden beams overhead. The Spanish colonial-style furnishings could be part of a pirate’s plunder, yet the room also provides landlubbers’ comforts including a wet bar, 42-inch plasma TV and surround sound stereo system. Down the hall, the Master Bedroom (or “Captain’s Quarters”) features a vintage canopied four-poster bed with cast iron lighting fixtures and (in addition to a 37-inch LCD TV) decorative artwork inspired by elements of the Pirates of the Caribbean films and attractions. The Master bath compliments the pirate furnishing with some more modern amenities such as a Jacuzzi tub and steam shower. Younger guests will find their own pirate stronghold in the second bedroom, which features a more playfully rustic theme with nautical-inspired furniture. Among the treasures to be discovered in the suite, including some in locked display cases, are a replica of Captain Jack Sparrow’s revolver, rare pirate figurines (discontinued) from the popular Walt Disney Classics Collection, a lithograph signed by Disney Legend “X” Atencio (Lyricist for the song for “Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate’s Life For Me”) and a replica of the mysterious Davy Jones’ “Dead Man’s Chest.” The suite also boasts spectacular views of the Never Land Pool area below, Santa Catalina Island, the nearby San Bernardino Mountains and fireworks over Disneyland. Like Disneyland itself, the Disneyland Hotel is now celebrating its 50th Anniversary as one of Southern California’s premiere resort hotels, offering a wide range of amenities, services, dining and recreation. 11. You need a fake predator to scare off the skunk. You could get one of those plastic owls and place him near the fish pond. That might discourage the mammal visitors.
  12. Whoever wrote the song must have belonged to a pirate guild filled with men. [bHP runs for cover as the pirate men finally do something....they get upoff their @rses.]
  13. Cheryl Kosewicz was born and raised on a 22-acre farm in Grand Couler, WA, where she and her family literally lived off the land-their only store purchases were paper products. Growing up, she would fish, hunt, garden, sew her own clothes, work with animals and make things for the farm. She began participating in rodeo at a young age, competing in barrel-racing, pole-bending, goat-tying, roping and calf-riding. Her father then turned her on to basketball and she discovered her true love. During high school, she played basketball, and ran in track and cross-country. She was also class president and graduated as a valedictorian. Cheryl received her bachelor's degree in English from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she was on the dean's list, on a basketball scholarship and continued on for her master's degree. She then attended law school at Northwestern School of Law in Portland, where she received her Doctorate of Law. She worked as a deputy district attorney in Las Vegas for six and a half years. She is currently a Deputy District Attorney in Reno, NV, focusing on the prosecution of sexual abuse cases. Cheryl regularly goes to the gym, runs, skis and swims. She also enjoys reading, horseback riding and athletic events. She describes herself as confident, athletic, competitive and loud. She currently resides in Sparks, NV. Her birth date is Nov. 11, 1971.
  14. "Pirate" Contestant Found Dead of Apparent Suicide Posted Jul 30th 2007 11:19AM by TMZ Staff Filed under: TV, R.I.P. Cheryl Kosewicz, from the recently canceled CBS reality show "Pirate Master," was found dead in her home on Friday, KOLO-TV in Reno is reporting. Officials told the station the death is believed to be a suicide, but is still under investigation. Just two months earlier, Kosewicz's boyfriend also took his own life. Her death was confirmed by fellow "Pirate Master" contestant Nessa Nemir, who posted on the show's Facebook page, "All of the pirates and Cheryl's friends and family are shocked and devastated. It is a tragic loss that we all feel very deeply." Another contestant, Joycelyn "Joy" McElveen, wrote on her MySpace page, "I lay in my bed tossing and turning waiting on someone to wake me up from this horrible nightmare. What nightmare you may ask? The nightmare that I thought I would never have to deal with the news that my best friend is dead. I immediately scream out in pain and sorrow." Kosewicz was the fourth person eliminated (on the show), which was canceled just last week.
  15. Talllship adventures in the Caribbean. Maybe this is what you are looking for, but perhaps not in one of the ports you are visiting. The term yer looking for is Tallship Adventure Sail. As there are fewer and fewer Tallships left, finding one in the tourist ports of the Caribbean can be difficult. Most of the tallships I know of are US based non-profits. It is only with the care of several hundred people are these beautiful ships saved. Next time you sail the Caribbean, be sure to stop in Key West. There are two beautiful Tallships that take out tourists there. The Schooner Wolf and Schooner America. I know several have sailed the Wolf and I have sailed with the America. HTH
  16. Huzzah! I'm going to pirate those for myself. Just love my photo quality printer.
  17. How was it, Lass? If I could have been in two places at once, I'd a been there as well. Ye missed some great corn chowder, or did you?
  18. Thar be pirates! Just not me this time, unless things change. I already made plans to raid Texas during this time.
  19. Ahhh, the Romans like to kidnap our wenches and are wenches liked it! Here's a link to Living History. Net where they have some great photos of the event. Livinghistory.net
  20. From what I understand of the 19 page contract, it's a lifetime gag order unless specifically orchestrated through Mark Burnett's production company. Hence, why so many 'real' pirate re-eactors declined to participate.
  21. I have to comment on Kendra as well having gotten to know her and knowing the TV industry just a bit. It is simply common knowledge and sense in our time of reality TV that the participants are bound while the program is airing. Those that participated in Pirate Master had to sign a 19 page contract. Part of the contract was that she is not allowed to discuss the program whilst it is airing. Clearly she knows the outcome and is bound and gagged by the contract or she will forfeit any winnings and risk more. To expect her to discuss the program while it is airing is inconsiderate.
  22. Ello Mates, I'm double posting this as it's not only a place to raid as a pirate, but to acquire some fun pirate tunes booty. Pirates always get lucky on saturday night and here be a chance to enjoy some fine pirate tunes at the same time. The Pirates of New Providence are having a CD release party at Pirate-n-Plunder in Whittier, CA. I've heard the band and have enjoyed their performances at quite few events around the Southern California area. Those of you who were able to attend Spring Ojai Renaissance PIRATE faire would have had to chance to hear this tight group perform. Alas I will not be able to attend this event as I have made other plans. Also, since I know the band, I'm hoping to plunder the CD before hand. For those who can, it is a fine opportunity to party like a pirate. Where to acquire the CD online, in case you can't make the party. Schedule of Events
