I am selling a brand new, black leather jerkin made by Ravenswood Leather. Waist 48" / Chest 48". It has laces on the front and both sides to allow for further adjustments. I am 6'2" with a long upper body, so I had them add 2" to their standard length. I paid $130, but I'll sell it to you for $80, plus shipping (from San Diego, CA). If you are interested, I can email you a photo. I'll also be at the Escondido Ren Faire both weekends and I can bring it with me for you to check out. Interested parties can email me at mcornish@cox.net.

My cohort in crime (Diosa) just got this photo from her connection in bodice land for approval. I just had to share it! It almost transcends a piece of clothing - more like art. Now stand down you blackards. This is ol' Hurricane's mate (you all can have the mannequin shown) Still awaiting the spider web chaining that connects the top. Will share more photos and the designer (unless you can already tell who it is) when it arrives. It's not period, but it's magnificent. He does amazing work!!!! Captain's humble opinion... Hurricane

To all my shipmates, It is with a sad heart that I will have to shut down Slop Shop Reproductions yet again. Every time I try and get the business back running, disaster strikes. Unfortunately, this time it has to do with my Mom being in poor health, and my apartment complex being bought out by another company and will be turning the apartments into high priced condo's. I am very sorry to get everyones hopes up for the slop contract goods, and I looked forward to providing them. Unfortunately, life isn't working well in regards to the business or my part in the hobby as a whole right now. So, I hereby proclaim that Slop Shop Reproductions is offically shut down, and…

Our very own Diosa is selling custom made and stock items right now on ebay with more on the way. Lovely under bodices (which are perfect for the more well endowed lass), shirts and other items waiting for that lucky lass or rogue. These aren't cheap costumes - they're made of top quality upholstery weight material with boning and adjustable lacing. Look for more listings soon as she goes nuts with a needle and thread (OK, serger and sewing machine). Link to Diosa's Den

I'm looking to have someone make some fancy carved wood hair sticks for me. They are my chief way of getting my hair up and I haven't been able to find any I like in the variety of stores available. I have some specifics but I'll wait on those for the interested artisans. Any interested artisans out there?

Shipmates, I got to thinking about how everyone is participating in the shirt making course (awesome idea Greg, BTW) to add an authentic item to their wardrobe. Well, since I don't need another shirt, I figured that I'd help everyone finish out their authentic wardrobe. So, I've decided to make the November run at Slop Shop be for Slop hose and trousers. This way, by the time the shirts get done in the course, you will have some authentic breeches to go with it. The run will start out with just 3 slots for a pair of slop hose, and 3 more for a pair of trousers. You can find all the details about the run at the website. http://slopshopreproductions.freeservers.com/ …

Here is the info from The Rifle Shoppe's site The Buccaneer muskets were the weapons that actually put "Tulle" in business. In the 1693 inventory they had enough locks on hand to build 4650 Buccaneers. St. Etienne made them prior to tulle and starting in 1683 french ships were required by law to have at least 12 on board and to be sold to the colonies they went to. Then, by 1714, many colonies required each household to have 1 buccaneer with powder, ball, sword or bayonet, and if they were slaveowners, they had to provide their slaves with one as well. This law was in effect until the 1740’s They were made with brass or steel mounts depending on the climate they were g…

Me provisions officer finally finished me coat! (sort of, it still needs buttons) Me in the coat Coat laid out Detail of pocket and cuff This is from the Jas Townsend 1770's pattern: http://jas-townsend.com/product_info.php?p...products_id=419 I changed the design of the cuff, I didn't like the way the cuff it calls for looked. Other than that, it's made to specs. I am probably going to use black frogs instead of buttons for the closures, they will look nice with the black trim. But for the cuffs and pockets, I am going to try for either period-style buttons, or some other buttons that just look nice.
