A right fine day to ye all. I am right fine pleased to be har and meet ye all. I have only recently gone on account, but had a right fine record of historical activities (some might call that re-enacting) fer over 30 years prior to that unfortunate circumstance that started me down this profitable path of endeavors. May ye have slipped yer anchor a full hour before they know yer gone. -Greydog

So I've been married to Capt. Lazarus Gage long enough that he has finally nagged me into earning my sea legs. I must admit, however, that the salty air and freedom of the sea have always appealed to me. I look forward to rousing piratical antics in this pub.

INITIATION RITES & PUB MANAGEMENT is the primary thread for introductions and interaction between the old hats of the pub and the new people just joining up, but the tagline also mentions that this forum may be used to "post questions and comments about the Pub to the moderators", so here goes. Question number one... Why does the start page for Pyracy.com still list the 2005 dates of Pirates in Paradise instead of the current dates? Example: Question number two... Could someone please remove the subforum "The Travels of the Ghost Ship Watch Dog" from the Pirate Crews forum? No one on the Watch Dog crew can add or remove threads from that subforum. Since w…

Well mates, I first joined you back in spring of '06, as I recall, but soon found other activities to captivate my mind before becoming established here. I tried to find my original post to see where I was, but it's since sunk to the depths. Regardless, a round for all on me.

LASCARS BAY New historical story thread. What’s it’s about: Starting a new thread for story writing within the ‘pirate’ time period genre. The other threads are getting into story arcs that are pretty well formed, and it might be fun to start something similar but with enough differences to make things interesting. Who and what would be dandy: A wide catchbag of characters: sailors, merchants, workers, hangers-on, shopkeepers, people ending up in places due to accident or flight, etc., variety and normal people. I’m much more interested in the activities of a runaway indentured servant than that of a ‘Gentleman of Noble Birth’. Shore activities and commerce of the p…

I have no idea what to expect, if anyone remembers me, or what I walked into. I certainly did not expect to show up again after so long. So much has happened....My situation is different...my life is different...but still I remain as Hetha, true only to myself, if not to others...

I be the first to admit that I likes ter use text-based-pirate-dialect in me posts. I'll also admit that I'm not very good at it LOL I've been reading through the posts today and I have to say that I'm very impressed by some members use of the piracte accent in their posts. This got me wondering about the whole pirate accent thing, and where it originated. Even in many movies, especially the older ones, the pirates had the accent that many of us use in our posts. Here in England, the pirate accent would be pinpointed to the Somerset/Cornwall areas - Counties which are predominatly inland with coastal fringes. Which makes one wonder how the accent reached the high seas…

When a friend's mother comes out in an Easter dress with purely decorative ribbons in the back, asks you to 'do them', and you instantly half squeeze the life out of her 'cinching her up'.

Hola (not the traditional pirate greeting, I'm guessing), I be Sil. I'm new to these waters, as dictated by this board. I have a long standing interest in piracy... Though my grip on linguistics is rather shaky. I hope to enjoy myself here and make contributions. Now I'm off to plunder my kitchen for the most important booty of all: chocolate.
