Capt. 'Bastian Devareaux Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 No Ransom...no such luckIn 2006...she was a bunny pyrate.... in 2007....she's a REAL Pyrate... Hold for a moment.... I like Mary as a bunny....Pyrate. **sly smile** BUT! At Port Washington, ealier this year, I was allowed the honour of escorting her in the parade and I might say that she is quite stunning in Period adornments. Every bit pleasing to the eye and her interaction with the crowds was top notch. Her smile, enough to make every cat in Cheshire envious. It is time to pause, even so early, for this account is not intended to be about my life...but is, as I have said, about my life's secrets. LadyBarbossa Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Hey people hate me, .. isn't that what being a real pirate hunter is all about?? We love t' hate ye and hate t' love ya. All in all, ye pose a fabulous challenge that will stir the blood of any pirate with a show of wits. HAHA! Beckett's replacement - Sterling! God help us all! :::evil grinz::: A good challenge and I greatly welcome that. Either way, Mary I'm sure was having fun. Tis true... at events.. to hell with sleep! I've heard DragonCon is THE worst where you literially get NO sleep. Heaven help me as that is one of the destinations my crew and I will be attending in 2008. Up to Mary which look she wasn't to go with. And looks great in both appearances. ~Lady B Tempt Fate! an' toss 't all t' Hell!" "I'm completely innocent of whatever crime I've committed." CrazyCholeBlack Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Anyway... Back to the subject; "You in your Garb" In honor of 1 year in "Big 18th C" reenacting, I made this banner retrospective. I intend to make one of these for each year as a way to look back at all the different events and time periods I do. Just a fun little thing really. It'll be really great to see when it gets to be a huge collection of photos! "If part of the goods be plundered by a pirate the proprietor or shipmaster is not entitled to any contribution." LadyBarbossa Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 a person is supposed to sleep at events??? Yah.... how is a good honist Sailor suposed to get any sleep when Evil Pyrate hunters keep sprinkling them wit water...... Perhaps they are asking why their ship is gone as ye are the one laying out cold on the docks with a teddy bear in the arms cause your rum bottle is gone. Apparently, yes... folks are suppose to be allowed sleep. But, hell, there are times it's not even possible! Neat idea, Chole. It's always interesting to see our outfits change over time. Red Cat Jenny Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Mary, the first pic would be great for Ojai... but you look awesome in the period kit. Like you've years of tales from being at sea. Huzzah. Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.... Her reputation was her livelihood. I'm a pirate, love. By nature and by choice! My inner voice sometimes has an accent! My wont? Ransom Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Actually, Ojai goes both ways. She could wear either type garb and fit right in. ...schooners, islands, and maroons and buccaneers and buried gold... You can do everything right, strictly according to procedure, on the ocean, and it'll still kill you. But if you're a good navigator, a least you'll know where you were when you died.......From The Ship Killer by Justin Scott. 1stMate Matt Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 Here is a shot of me in my fantasy get up in Florida back in november. The hat is a custom piece by pyrate leather worx. All the metal work was done by me. The sword, dagger, jewlery and the buckle. I am now working on my period garb though it is tough to turn back to a period look after my Sarah Juniper boots were stolen . Once I get to the point that I need to think about period footwear I think that I am going to cry. Heck , maybe one day I will find my old boots. -1st Mate of Pirates Magazine -Bladesmith/Owner of That Works Studio http://youtube.com/thatworks thatworks.shop
Captain Midnight Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 That looks awesome Matt! I really like the hat! Incredible metal work, too! "Now then, me bullies! Silkie McDonough Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Looks great Matt. Aye, not authentic but very cool!

If anything ever happened to my Sarah Juniper shoes I'd be beside myself. Matt, if you ever do get your historical kit together, the door to the Pirate Brethren is always open. Hell, we probably live all of fifteen minutes from one another... I should stop by your shop after work one day just to check it out!
