Yer hat doesn't look that stiff; ye did a great job. Where did ye get the pattern fer the jacket, if I may ask?

Chris

I know yer goin' fer accuracy; so, why is yer waistkit (vest) so short? I still think yer slops an the rest o' yer kit looks great.

Rumba

That is a wonderful picture, luv. Did Tiger Lee take it?

Lily

Yer husband an yer self, look grand. Bleedin' tombstones! Whoa!

So here is a new picture of me in my garb... I still have to add buttons and sew the buttonholes in the jackets.... but other than that and shoes, think this outift is pretty much as done as it is going to get... Well the wasitcoat shrunk a bit and doesn't fit as well anymore (NO I did NOT gain weight  ), so I am going to replace it, and maybe in a tan or light brown rather than the grey...

The jacket is a dark navy blue and not black as it kind of looks in the picture.

I think it might be the coloursetting to your computer because the jacket is a really nice navy on my laptop screen :)

I really quite like how that jacket came out, and I love that color, it's so hard to find a nice dark blue!

I actually quite like the grey colourwise with the rest of the outfit, I'm not sure an earthtone would match as well.

But that's just my opinion, in the end you should get the colours you like regardless of what anyone else thinks :)

Yeah, I was looking at the pic on my laptop... It makes everything darker, it looked correct on my proper computer. Don't hate me, but I picked up 4 yards of that particular wool for $20 on a roll end clearance. I had just enough of it left to bang out a pair of breeches as well.

I appreciate the advice, I was thinking of trying to go for a more mis-matched look, but I agree, the grey really does look pretty much perfect with this outfit. I think I still have enough of the grey wool, maybe I will re-make the waistcoat in it...

a bit on the clean side of the game but good for gathering information while in port as to the cargo and shipping routes being sailed .

It is still new garb Callenish, this was the first time I wore it out. Give it some time and me a chance to wear it out a few times, I guarantee it will get nice and grungie looking quickly enough!

But thank you both for the comments and feedback!

Aye, I like the colors as well. They go perfectly together. Very good job Michael!

Great work michaelsbagley!

I am still working on gatherin info to change me outfit. I wuz wanting to get some opinions. Does anyone think it a good idea for makin and sellin "plus size" pirate shirts? These wouldn't be crisp and clean, more like working with cottons that are not 1st quality and weathered.

I think it's a fine idea, Cheryl. Certainly pirates come in all sizes, and personally, I would prefer the weathered looking shirts over a crisp clean one, any day. B)

I work for a fabric company that has muslins and such. We always have seconds for a cheaper price which would be perfect for a worn or weathered look.....we also have osnaburg which I believe is also period. I know James Townsend gets their osnaburg from us.

Hey Rumba. I noticed that you didn’t have a graphical signature, but you had such great pictures from Tiger. So I went ahead and made you one. I can alter it or add to it if you don’t like it, but I think it turned out neat.
