  1. We MUST be bored, if we're comparin' this, now. Captain Wolfy Wench
  2. I gots a friend whose father is obsessed with the series, so he's really excited 'but the film. I keep hearing Billy Boyd (who played Pippin in the Lord of the Rings films) is in it, btu for the life of me, I've seen not a hair o' him in it. His character's name is Barrett Bonden. A while ago, sometime in February, there was a Fox promo DVD that came out with highlights of their latest films. It had clips from Daredevil, LXG, X-Men 2, Down With Love, and Master and Commander. From the behind-the-scenes stuff, it looks accurate and an entertainin'; just fun film in general. The actors look enthusiastic, and confident in the finished project. I know me and me pyrate buddies are gonna go. Gladiator, mmm. Love that film. Dunno if M&C'll be up in the Oscar race this year, but I hope not, as I'll hate to see Return of the King will beat it down! Even though it'll be the third Russell Crowe film in a row in the Oscar race... One question: Master and Commander is the name of the first book in tha' series, but isn't The Far Side of the World the title of one of the books LATER in the series? Just curious. 3. I have a friend who is good friends wif the castin' director for PotC. This is how she's gettin' into tha premiere, and she said that if I was outside Disneyland at the premiere, she'd try and pull me in. But anyway, she told me that they are goin' to start filmin' on the new film in June of next year, and from now, they are scribblin' away a good script with the same screenwriters as PotC 1. Everyone from the first one is signed on, except Geoffry Rush, o' course. Poor bloke, Barbossa. I dunno about filmin' both movies back-to-back; it seems a bit odd for such a film, but you never know wif Disney nowadays. They go with the cashflow, and PotC most certainly made them lots o' loot. I'll keep ye all posted once I hear more. Captain Wolfy Wench
  4. I hope ev'ryone had fun on Hallowe'en, becuase I know I sure as hell did! Everyone loved me costume and they knew what it was, arr. I won third place at me school's costume contest, but it's all a popularity contest anyway, and I be not so popular among the kiddies there. I am a senior, though, an' they respect that, I think. Anyway, I had a grea' time, and it was definetly the year of the pirate. How many people saw other pirates on the day? I saw a bunch of the cheap costumes from party stores, but there were also three kids in me grade who were good pirates that made their own costumes! Took a pic of them, I did, an' was very happy wif that. Heh. Captain Wolfy Wench
  5. I don' own a boardin' axe yet, but maybe I shall later, although I be much happier carryin' me flintlock n' cutlass and leave me crew to tha' axes. Pyrates with boardin' axes are quite shexy. Imma bit fuzzy on me history 'ere, but methinks that tha' boardin' axes were used when pirates boarded other ships. Not only could they be weapons in close range battle, but good plunderin' pirates needed to chop down doors when boardin' enemy ships, or for cuttin' the lines and ropes. General destruction n' mayhem, says I. Captain Wolfy Wench
  6. I definetly have a Johnny Depp pumpkin on me porch, bu' it's Edward, not Captain Jack. I do have a Jolly Roger pumpkin I'm gonna carve, too, so I'm not without me own Captain Jack O' Lantern. Captain Wolfy Wench
  7. Arr, I should go and get me a Jolly Roger to hang on me house; show the kiddies 'round here jus' who they're dealin' with! Made a wooden sign that says: "Pirates, ye be warned." Think they'll like tha'. Yessss, cajones are the same as huevos. Cajones sounds better anyway. Captain Wolfy Wench
  8. 'Appy Birfday, then, mate! We be celebratin' just for ye, and so close to the best holiday ever... Captain Wolfy Wench
  9. Me father owns a leather warehouse, and I don' think I've ever seen leather whose reverse looks like tha'. You could email and ask them if ye want. I didn' mean to say the hat was historically inaccurate or period or such, I mean if ye be wantin' a hat whose color matches Jack Sparrow's more, then look on eBay for people who try to make recreations. Some hats of theirs look amazin'. For cosplayers like me, accuracy to the real movie costume is a bit pet peeve, caught somewhere between my bein' cheap, o' course. Captain Wolfy Wench
  10. I dunno why, but I keep hearin' about pyrates in Oregon. Methinks the most pyrates signed up for Pirates Meet Up are in Oregon. Or maybe I've been out at sea too long. Captain Wolfy Wench
  11. The grey material you see looks like interfacing of some sort, or maybe the reverse side of the material they used to make the hat. If I were you, I'd go eBaying for a more accurate hat, but I'm warning that now tha' it's Halloween, they'll be amazing in price. Captain Wolfy Wench
  12. Like this question really needs to be answered. Pirate boots for certain are much more attractive onna man than cowboy boot wif the spurs. Poor horses! And *scoffs* jus' what do ye mean, Pitt or Depp? Tha' a question?? And Orlando Bloom counts... I say so. So does Jack, eh. Would ye rather be hitchin' a ride wif a cowboy or preparin' to be boarded by a pirate? Not a hard choice, thinks I. Captain Wolfy Wench
  13. Never been, but was plannin' on going before, two weeks ago. Sad I couldn't make the last un'. There's always the Southern Faire, but I feel fer the pyrates who hafta trek to get there. Captain Wolfy Wench
  14. Happy Birfday, Capt'n Coyote, mate! Here be a birfday prezzy from a fellow sea dog to ye! *throws a bone* Awooo!! Captain Wolfy Wench
  15. Any of ye pyrates goin' to make it to the San Juan Capistrano pirate festival? Doesn't sound like a festival, really, but they be invitin' people to dress up, and have a re-enactment of the pirate raid on the mission there! Invitin' people to dress up is basically invitin' me for sure. Sounds excitin' enough fer a pyrate, and I intend on goin'. Am I goin' to see any of ye there? EDIT: It's on October 25th, by the way, from 12-5pm. Here be the link. Captain Wolfy Wench
  16. 'appy birthday, mates! And look, this time, I'm not late! Here's 'oping ye had good ones! Captain Wolfy Wench
  17. 'oly 'ell, yes, ye be right! Marion Ravenwood from Raiders of the Lost Ark - because she's so hardcore! Trinity from the Matrix Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider series - if you play the games, you know! Angelina Jolie in general Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty - becuase if I wasn't a wolf, I'd be her, and she turns into a dragon! Agent Dana Scully from The X-Files - becuase she's the smartest wench I know, and becuase only she could keep up with Mulder! Those're some of me personal favorites. Captain Wolfy Wench
  18. Aye, I love birds. Parrots are spectacular birds, n' I'd love to have 'un if me mum wasn't so opposed to it. She hates, I mean, HATES seein' pet birds in cages. My friend has a caique, which is a smaller kind of parrot, and he wants t' kill me, I can see in in his eyes, the lubber. He's a real pyrate's parrot. Captain Wolfy Wench
  19. Wif what everyone said, if ye wanted an earlier look, Cavalier hats are better, but Tricorns appeared only a bit afterward, so's it not like it'll interfere wif any specific datin'. I think both look great, but me, I prefer the Tricorn look. Captain Wolfy Wench
  20. I was wonderin' meself what kinda knife a pyrate Capt'n should carry. Knives be good fer carryin' 'round, and this Capt'n Wolf be lookin' a bit bare wif the weapons, eh. Thanks fer the tip, Royaliste, now I dun feel so contrained when lookin' to buy a knife. :) Nice knives they have at jastown.com. And they sounds like great choices, Dorian! Thanks fer the info; I like those long combat knives meself. Captain Wolfy Wench
  21. 'Nother belated birfday wish from Capt'n Wolf. Hope ye plundered yer way to happiness! Captain Wolfy Wench
  22. Arr, Iron Bess, CA be me home! *cocks her flint* Nah, she's alright, far as the 50 states goes, bu' I love her becuase she's the centre of the movie-world and the industry, not to mention the cons that go 'round here, too! Disneyland be another plus. Captain Wolfy Wench
  23. I'd vounteer t'be anythin'! Artist, extra, intern, body double, landin' pad... oh, if'n me brother still worked fer Disney, I'd be in better shape. I talked to one of the extras in the movie, a man who was on Jack's crew (check out the big, bald guy with the orange-y shirt), and he said he sent his picture in somewhere becuase he was part of a pyrate reinactin' group, and they cast him, 'cuz he looked authentic. I already heard about the sequel. It's no suprise, really, the movie's makin' so much, and of course Johnny'd be back! he had a blast playin' Capt'n Jack, and Jack's the star of the film anyway. I'm also amlost sure Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightley are already signed on, and I hear the new movie's goin' to explore more of Will Turner's pirate side, and more of Jack's past. Yayay! Captain Wolfy Wench
  24. Ahh, what ARE these movies? I've not heard of them! Well, save fer Zoolander, which is not really bad, but it's a stupid funny kind of movie. It be me friend's, like, favorite film. @_@ Okay, fine, being a wench, me guilty pleasure is Clueless. Yes, I knows, it not everyone's favorite movie, but really, it be not all that stupid or bad. It IS based on Emma, byone of history's greatest female authors, Jane Austen. Captain Wolfy Wench
  25. I dunnae like Survivor, but when I saw the new season was pirate-themed, I almost, almost turned it on. Maybe I should watch it fer the pure pirate-y enjoyability factor. And people makin' complete fools of themselves. Captain Wolfy Wench
