  1. For a good working wheel lock I would estimate a cost of 4-700 for just the lock, so yes considerable more than a flintlock when you can get a good working flintlock for under 150.
  2. I found this one the other night. . .
  3. I recall reading somewhere that there was a law passed in England requiring English ships to maintain a certain percantage or number of English crew due to their getting "cheap crew" in Aisa and bringing them back. Perhaps someone can help me locate the source Im thinking of.

  5. Ok it looks like I will be taking flintlocks to the next level and working with wheel locks. I am getting a wheel lock for my birthday (pile of parts) and am going to build it into a piece. Its a smaller lock sutible for a pistol and I'm just looking for ideas . . .
  6. It has been partly history, partly old timers, partly reading and a lot of experience for myself. Currently I am working on a friends cheap Jap tower pistol with an unbridled frizzen and I am up to over 50 firings on the same flint with no knapping just a simple cleaning when it gets loaded up.
  7. My speciality is retuning the main and frizzen spring to make the lock operate properly
  8. If you would like it tuned correctly I can do it.
  9. The boat is located in Key Largo. He is trying to move it before next months rent is due unless someone cares to take it and pay the rent.
