I am in Key Largo (upper keys) and there are another 5 events comming this year in the 100-150 mile range on the east and west coasts of FL as well as the Keys.

Sounds historically inspired to me.

I built one for a friend of mine with a bronze barrel, due to the stock its easier and cheaper for me to build one from scratch with an american lock than to modify an india piece. I have a piece of bronze im going to cut for another pistol before too long.

I havent found anything this large from the regular suppliers

Im looking for a ball mold .90-.95 if anybody might be able to help source something.

Well this week I should be putting the finishing touches on another small blunderbuss pistol. This one should be the smallest one to date perfect for concealement or a lady, something that can be carried around all day.

although considering it would be a close range weapon, if all it did was scatter sparks on an enemy vessel at close range in the attempt to ignit powder it might of been effective.

Watching Captain Blood I thought about that scene as well and have a different thought on it. The coals would provide almost no back pressure and would be next to impossible to ram due to the charge behind. However, have we been neglect in thinking that perhaps they were just put into the end of the muzzle of an already loaded cannon? With a ball between the charge and coals I doubt there would be nearly as much of a chance of an accidental discharge. Of course I believe there would be little to no effect.

We had a map on a sailing forum that I was a part of where you could interact with it (it was a google map) and once you found your location you could put a "pin" on the map so that everyone would know where you were. This is where I got the idea, I checked the forum recently and the map is down or forgotten about.

How about simply a map like google with a flag where an event is. When the mouse is placed ove the flag it will show the dates and a link to hopefully a thread pertaining to the event.

The wreck we are working on sank in 1733 and I believe was built in 1731 if my memory serves

Not to open a can of worms but would hull sheeting be copper or lead? I know on a wreck we are working on we have found a good ammount of lead from the hull but no copper.

My intentions are to be at Stuart and have something setup to work on pistols.
