  1. Thats why I was thinking something in advance, give people time to set a little away each month, make payments trade etc
  2. After a few phone calls we are looking at a 10x14 which gives us a little extra length but still will fit alongside other tents. If I opt for an internal framework I can let the back 4 feet drop and fit in a 10x10 vendor space as well.
  3. Im looking for a very nice set of clothes (lined) and willing to swap out a custom gun. Is there anyone interested? Swab
  4. As the cost of an assembled lock alone is 350-400 (miquelet) without any barrel, stock or furniture and I would be unable to use an assembled lock but instead build them from scratch to be correct for the pistol I really can't reduce the price estimate and if it were a single pistol instead of a batch the price would probably be double that.
  5. After bouncing back and forth as well as gtting more input from the boss I am leaning towards a 12X14 wall tent (5 foot walls), large enough to have room in the back for privacy and able to display my pieces and do work in front. Also there is the benefit of being able to close the flaps and leave everything setup inside in case of rain. My thoughts now are along the lines is this too big for most events. Anything we would go to as a vendor in a vendor space would in all probability be on asphalt and limited to 10X10 on the outside, impratical for any tent.
  6. Thank you, I will be talking to you soon. After discussing things with the wife more I am rethinking some of my ideas slightly. Seems she definatly wants a large portion of the tent to be more private space for us.
  7. My wife and I have been planning this year to get a tent. Naturally it should be period correct and large enough for us to sleep in should the need arise. The primary purpose will be for setting up at events to showcase the guns I have built and have for sale. I would like something large enough to use as a vendors tent yet still be small enough to not be a headache to transport/setup. Ive been thinking about a double belled wedge with an awning. I can set tables out front in the awning yet keep our other stuff and valuables in the tent. My other thought is a wall tent roughly 10x12 Any opinions?
  8. I may do a limited run of say 5 or 10 and ask for deposits of those interested and willing to wait.
  9. Are there people out there that would be interested in a Spanish Dragoon pistol circa 1700? Basically a Spanish version of a French Dragoon (spanish lock etc). I came across the plans to build one and have been wondering if there would be a market. Price would be around $800-$900 as a rough guess.
  10. Depending on your skill level you can also order an assembled kit from a variety of sellers made in India. Of course to get a good piece out of it there is going to be much disassembly, reassembly, and the reworking of parts as well as a new stock.
  11. For those interested we are planning on attending and setting up shop so to say to repair flintlocks.
  12. Any better pics/prices? Would like to see the barrel as well.
  13. Im sure I don't speak alone in saying we would all like to see some better pictures of the blunderbuss. Did you maintain the same bore all the way to the breech? What option did you take for the lock, it looks like it may be a Siler from Chambers??? How far does did you machine the interior taper? Whats the cost on something like this?
  14. Have you looked at the pictures in my gallery for cannons? For a small swivel gun he could do a beautiful bronze gun with dolphins and a bronze yoke made for the gun. 1 inch bore roughly 22 inches in length here is a picture of the barrel patined on a yoke without the dolphins. There also is the possibility of a small breech loading swivel Both are in your budget.
  15. What is you budget, my friend here (Viceroy) who many know does not advertise online and makes the finest bronze guns available.
  16. I have talked with the builder and seen many of his pieces close hand as well as observing him firing some of his pieces. If anyone has any questions I will be happy to answer them privatly.
  17. A properly tuned flintlock is very reliable. When I tune one I don't pass it off as a reliable gun until it has passed 20 pan flashes with 2 or less clicks (91% reliable) during this test of mine if I have to clean away the residue or reprime it fails. With a little work most India guns will get close to passing making them much more reliable. Certain pieces have poor geometry and must be cut and welded before they will be as reliable. Most flintlocks can be made to be reliable it is just a matter of how much work must be done to them. I have ony come across 1 lock that passed my test unmodified and that was an original.
  18. There are several vendors selling weapons. Typically you get what you pay for. A gun built in India can be a cheap way to get a functional flintlock, there are many vendors out there selling these guns and while it may be sold to you as a working gun I would not call it reliable. For example I had a nice enough French Dragoon that would shoot, by the time I was finished working on it to make it reliable I had retuned both springs, welded onto the toe of the frizzen, rehardened the frizzen, shimmed it up to improve the fit. At the last event she performed perfctly. Not a single misfire and there was no need to wipe/clean anything between shots.
  19. Received mine as well, many thanks. Sorry I haven't been around to update recently
  20. You aren't alone, I had a couple issues out of town and timing problems resulted in a delayed shipment.
  21. For those interested and have been toying with the idea of a knee gun of boxlock, next year I will be raising the prices from $550 to $600 (boxlock) and from $650 to $700 (Knee Gun). For those of you who are unaware these are hand made individual guns and not your typical india guns. 9 Days left to get a deposit at the old price.
  22. I will be comming and although I may be short a hat and vest I should have the english lock grenade launcher finished as well as my wheellock pistol Im currently working on.
