  1. I sincerely question whether there will be a PIP this year. The damage from the Hurricanes from what I've seen on the news is very bad.

Even if it were to go on, I doubt many would go. Let's face it, people have lost their homes and businesses and it seems to me that spending money on vendors or even coming to the event may be not on the top of people's list.

I think those that live in Florida should try and find out if this event will even happen before others loose their money flying there from out of state.

  2. Good to hear you're ok! Gads, that must have been horrible!

Lesson learned: DON'T DO IT AGAIN!!! :o<_<:o

Us members of PRP when using a fire ring or barbeque, use a small amount of wood, paper, and a bit of charcoal and use one of those barbeque flame lighters - never, but never black powder or a pistol to light it! :)

  3. Rupert- the BEST pirate ever! :)

I cannot say enough good things about this big, huggable guy, (with the exception of building lousy shelters- let's hope the homes he wants to help with are done better!) and his heart of gold.

    You go RUPERT !!!!

  5. Aye, ye think by the ocean it would be cool, but NOOOOOOO! We suffered through horrible heat and humidity on Friday during set up of our camp, and on Sat. entertainin' the guests. On Sunday we had a wee bit o' relief when the temps went down a couple o' notches.

I got to meet Privateer and his fine wife, an' I do think they enjoyed the show PRP puts on, "The Tryal of Anne Bonney and Mary Read".

Here's some pictures o' some o' us here at the Pub.

Red Maria (btw- the lantern she's standing next to came off the Interceptor of the POTC movie)

  6. Thanks Pearl, but I think he wears a size 8. I'm meeting him today over at the local Thrift store to see if we can find something for him. If not, he's going to wear his dress shoes which though not quite correct, but darn close will do much better than those awful moccasins!

BTW- Those pegs ye gave Boats are perfect! I think he'll be installing quite of few of them into poles on Friday for set-up at Tall Ships. Good, cuz I'm not bringing my wardrobe rack anymore for people to hang their stuff up on. It's starting to break due to the weight of some of the costumes!

  7. <GASP- was what came out of Boat's mouth>

He discovered that by time the shipping charges (which were not shown)were tacked on he was looking at way over a hundred bucks!

    He said, 'NO WAY!'

As I have said before, "If the shipping charges aren't shown on line, the companies can tack on whatever they want and you don't know it until it's almost too late! Never, but never buy from places like these, also, there was no indication that their site was 'secure' for credit card transactions - another red flag!

Best bet, as in the case with that site, is call and find out first before ordering anything!

Boats is going to check the Thrift stores.

  9. Total price on the sword with tax, was 141.00. I figure if I had bought that same sword on line for the sale price I did of 120.00, by the time the shipping charges were tacked on, I'd be paying damn close to 200 bucks.

Funny thing, come to find out, a good friend of mine has one too! So we will be the sword gals out to fight deadly toothpicks.

Here's a picture of the blade.

  10. :o I hate to break hearts...., but Barbosa's dead.., perhaps nobody watched it that far?.., Jack killed him. A bullet.  :o   I believe the 3 remaining main characters and whomever new they introduce to be a villan is probably more like it?..., After all the aztec gold was infact returned thus breaking the cursed pirates i.e. Barbosa's demise. I am sure POTC 2 and 3 will do VERY WELL . Yes many part 2's are floppers..., but I think POTC is special for Disney after all it took them 50 years to make the movie after the ride..., I bet they do a super job on these additional parts of story. I look forward to adding them to my collection and enjoying them for years to come.

    HarborMaster

Ah my dearest Harbor Master, did you not stay till the end of the credits to see the monkey and his bit?

If you did, you would know something was afoot. The monkey taking a coin away from the rest, makes the curse begin again. Yes you are correct, once shot and dead, one should remain so, but hey it's Disney, all things fantasy. :o

  11. Alas my dear Animal, I cannot afford the Florida trip, nor can I be gone for a week.

I'm taking a week for Canada (leaving Sept. 20 and coming back the 27), and that pretty much ends the spending money I currently have.

But hey, you never know, I might win the lottery! :o

  12. Well I went to Jo Ann's Fabrics and got the correct Jack Sparrow coat pattern and it only cost me 1.00 !

I thought the gal at the register had rung it up wrong, but she checked and said no. Well now that's one hell of a deal.
