  1. Iron Bess has one of those pirate umbrellas. Cute.
  2. Aw, I'm afraid Boats is being shy again. He had a hell of a time trying to register here...I finally had to help him. I asked him to go to the Initiates forum and introduce himself, but nay, he's chickened out...so please don't push any further...short of sending him PM's to do so.... Aw Scarlett, you were looking good no matter how much you had to drink.
  3. As I've said many times, I was press-ganged, it's the truth.
  4. When arrggghhhh, just isn't enough....
  5. What are you guys drinking around here? "Spike"
  6. Now that's a game I can really get into! I loved it! I got a 60! One problem, at the end of the game there's nothing to click on to start it over. Did I miss something?
  7. Wow! What a great picture, it's so clear! Well at least we don't look too drunk....
  8. Actually I think Pirates/Pyrates/Pie-rats came up with the Black Spot thing as kind of a joke. I don't want the name of the group to actually be that, since it's not a good thing. Ok, now that I've seen the pavillion that Scarlett wants to use, (very nice by the way), I'm working on an inital plan of layout (we will need a second pavillion either the same kind/size or get an easy-up that can be covered properly to hide the metal and plastic top. Also working on exactly what would be presented, and what kind of tables, seating (you will need seating of some kind -as I will explain why when I finally shore up all my suggestions and ideas before I present it to Diego and everyone else.) and other things you could have. Since I have quite a few props in my place and I'm sure several others probably do too, then decorating the area shouldn't be any problem. Sometime this week I'll get to what I have in mind, and get some drawings down of what the 'encampment' might look like, according to what Diego has told me he wants to see (a very open senario). Meanwhile back to a name; "Treasure Cove" is a good name that kids will like and remember. Especially since there's only 2 or 3 actual 'pirate faire's' and the rest are Renaissance based. So why don't we take a poll (someone make one up) on the names Deigo thinks he likes and possibly any still forth coming and let's see if we can get a vote?
  9. Well we sure are some hung-over pirates.....Diego and Scarlett were toasted and buttered on both sides. Hmmm, Scarlett you were having sex with your clothes on...what's wrong with that picture.... even Boats apparently had his hands full of you.... Blackhearted Pearl and her hubby were there- Pearl you have one wicked sense of twisted humor, I love it! Puss N' Boots was well into her cups but geeze I don't think she kept up with Pearl who was drinking the rum juice out of her fruit salad. Lady Devlin showed up, very nice, and a figure to die for... There was an extra long fireworks show at 9:30 at Disneyland which we watched standing in the street. There was another one again at midnight. I was good and only had two wine coolers and the rest water, since I had to drive back to the hotel room. There were a total of 11 of us who showed to the party....sure missed some people who we thought were going to be there....oh well. All in all I had a great time, lets do it again next year! Whoopeee!
  10. I need dates for the Las Vegas faire and fall Ojai. Anyone got them? Trying to fill in my calendar for next year.
  11. Very funny indeed! Course you forgot these: 1. When the costumed people you meet have their cell phones attached and are easily visible to the public (would you believe I got a picture from some people and her cell phone was easily seen on her outfit? Yup) 2. When everybody has to have a name that is some relation to that Jack Sparrow guy. 3. When Ded Bob doesn't tell someone to sit down. 4. When that big cup of lemonade barely fills that big mug you have 5. When an event offical plans a pirate fest in August on the hottest days of the year...(oh and by the way, it's in June for 2006...what part of 'hot' didn't this guy get?)
  12. I know of a few others who got to go to the 'sneak preview' and their views were mixed. Some liked it, others didn't. I think it's best to leave it up to the individual on what they think. I'm just happy to have won a gift certificate to the place, and when I go, I will be taking a bunch of my friends with me (in costume of course) to have a good time.
  13. Discussing this name thing with a friend, she liked 'Treasure Cove', since it didn't sound like the group was some kind of museum of people talking like we were a bunch of dosents. I tend to agree with her, as much as the name "Age of Discovery" sounds good, there are many 'ages' of discovery, so the name really doesn't work for just the pirate side of life. Since there might be goodies given to kids or adults (I know lots of adults who have never grown up - just look at Caraccoli/Mission....run away...run away!!!) My friend had a good laugh when she read down the list that Diego had put no's to, and when she came to "Pirates that don't do anything" she and I laughed at the 'that's taken' that Diego put there. What a hoot! Yup she and I both know what group that is! LOL!
  14. Poppies! Poppies! (gawd I love Dr. Demento!)
  15. *Note on Palm Springs: There's a terrific Thai place across the street from the faire. If I go, I will have to go alone, as Boats has work and can't take off. Well looking at your whittled down list of names, I'd have to go with Age of Discovery. Please tell us what kind of tentage and seating and that sort of thing will you have? Exactly what kind of games are going to be offered? We really would like to know more.
