I would suggest getting a copy or reading over a copy of "The Swords and Blades of the American Revolution" by Nuemann. Has detailed stats of dozens and dozens of period swords. If not I am sure I can find something for you. Give me a day or so.

Yea after the Magazine website got over 4000 hits by mid-day I got a phone call to come over and update the website as much as I could. I got a few things done, but much more is needed. We got some crazy high traffic with that article. :) Made me one happy Knife it did!

Thats a good question about how we want to be listed. We never joined a crew realllly. Had a few offers but never acted on it. We have gone under the name "Press Gang" for some time now. Let me get back to you on that. If it ends up being just my lady klaus and I then we will prob tag in with a crew, but if we get a half dozen or so I think we were thinking of setting up a few tents and doing a crew thing. I had planned on doing the FLPF 2 weeks before pip but I cant see doing both since I would be flying to both. Give me a week or less and I will have some solid info for you. Hell I am just excited about being in Key West again. Last year we came down just for the fishing. Also I had talked to a few guys last year about me doing a demo or two at the blacksmith shop. Anyone know if that would still be ok? I would love to make a sword or two from start to finish the old fashioned way. Quench in salt water from the sea and all. Would be good times I think.

Looks like I will be at a blacksmithing event that weekend called Ashoken. I promise to wear a tricorn while forging!

It may be too early to so call this official but it looks like I will be at PIP this year with a few of our crew. I have yet to attend PIP so I am quite excited. I had committed to do the FLPF that is 2 weeks before hand so it wont be easy for me to come home for a week and make enough stock to restock my dealers and to have something to bring to the Keys. As of now it seems the plan is Myself, Sarah, Klaus, Talderoy, Captain Dave and Jose. We have not talked to Scarlett yet but she wants to come I know that. Sounds fun. I think the current plan is to come down for the last 5 days or so as we dont want to miss the "walk the plank". I came down to the Keys last year one week after PIP and had some fun but all it really did was make want to be here for the event. I will let you know as soon as anything gets confrimed.

Had a great time with great people. The weather looked gloomy but held off untill close. Was nice actually. I will post a few pictures soon.

The magazine had been in close contact with Pat on this movie. It has been a few months since anyone has talked to him but it was certainly happening. I had my fingers crossed about doing a few custom swords for it. If I do get the commision I wont be able to talk about it untill they release a trailer. From what I understand, they are going all out for this and it wont be a short film. There had even been talks about making it 2 parts. When first told of this I believe the plan was to start at his death and then to have Blackbeard tell the story of his life. We will see.

I heard whispers that Christian Bale said that he has not done his last pirate film. He even kind of looks like Flynn.

I am so glad that you like it. I didnt originaly put the spade cutout in the design like I should have so I ended up having to saw pierce it like the oldschoolers had to do. WOW thats a tone of work. Lets just say a lot of love went into this lil guy. I thought the engraving was a nice touch. I had to hunt for a picture of your flag though to find it. I love your logo/jolly roger. Have fun with this baby my friend!

Congrats. I could tell that it was a good find even with the wrought iron guard splitting a bit. Gives some character.

I myself will be there with some members of the Press Gang. I delivered a few swords up there this past weekend. I saw a few faces I knew. It was hot and I think it will be just as hot next weekend so be sure to plan on going pirate lite. If you go be sure to stop by the pirates den and say hey or catch us as we roam. Also my swords are for sale at the pirate ship. Make sure you ask them to see the BKS cutlasses. Yarrr!

Hey all. My friend Mike who is a fellow sword and knife maker, made this awesome hand forged sword and only wants $200 for it. Someone here should def pick this one up. If you like a hand forged look to your cutlass then this should be perfect for you. I have no idea why he is selling it so cheap. From me it would be at least $700 prob more.
