  1. All through school I was emotionally bullied. Basically, made fun of. I remember in 6th grade having to pair up for folk dancing, and the teacher made the gaff of trying to team me up with the most popular guy in school. He took one look at me and said, in front of the whole class, "I won't dance with her."

Wow Ransom, we had the same experience!?! Now that is just too creepy! Though mine was in High School...Square Dancing! But in the beginning...I wasn't bullied. It was Lynn who was often the target, but when middle school hit, things changed. It was horrible! There was a group of guys who would always stand outside my homeroom every morning. And every morning I would have to listen to the verbal insults and condesending looks from their 'girlfriends'. Trying to be the bigger person, I would walk on by and say nothing. I knew that it wasn't worth my time to acknowledge their petty insults.

But one day....itt was March 15th - I can only remember the date because of the St. Patrick day decorations were still up. One of the boys started on me with the verbal insults and the rude remarks. Just then I snapped.

Before the kid knew what had happen I had dropped my books on the floor and proceeded to sucker-punched the twit in the face several times. After the third direct hit, he crumbled to the floor and began to screem for help. I don't remember if I gave him a bloody nose or not, but that was when my Homeroom teacher came out into the hall way and pulled me off of him. I remember the look on the kid's face; shocked and stunned. His friends just stook their and looked at him - none of them aided in helping him.

My teacher quickly pulled me into my homeroom and instructed the rest of the kids to 'get to homeroom...NOW!' I took my desk and said nothing. I didn't even make eye contact with anyone in my homeroom - though it was very apparent that they all saw what happened. The room was quiet and no one was talking. It was then my homeroom teacher asked me if I was all right and wanted to see the nurse. I shook my head no.

My homeroom teacher never sent me to the Principles office nor did they call my folks. Yet, after March 15th...the group of guys that lingered outside my homeroom never lingered there again.

  3. Haunting Lily said, hmmm, Nick told me he retired early because he was waiting for Bess. ohmy.gif

Sorry Nicholas, but Bess was busy working and serving drynk at the Tavern that night. She had a full house due to the Pyrates being in town. They were well behaved for the most part...until they started to shout "PARRRRRLAAAAAY"! I am surprised that militia didn't come in and break it up!

  4. Well...I thought I've seen it all, but the Wisconsin State Fair has been doing a special report on the 'new' foods produced for this year's Fair (2009). The Machine Shed, a local eatery in the midwest has produced the ultimate food.

    Chocolate covered BACON!!!!

This proves that their is no ends to the creativity for bacon lovers everywhere....and yes, William...it's DAMN good.

  5. Ah...yes, Nicholas! Such a formal name for the boy. And the red hair suits his temper I hear. ....As rumor has it...he retired early Saturday night...perhaps he may have been hung over from the glorious battles that day.

  6. Lilly Looks at the closely nestled bodies upon the shore line.

It’s very disturbing to watch let alone over hear the conversations. Bess was part of this madness and she had informed me the conversations went somewhat like this.

Maddogge: “Billie, you got to get closer. You not spooning Jack like you mean it.”

“Tiger Bill: “What?! I thought I was. My back is touching…something.”

    Jack: “I don’t bite…much.”

    Maddogge: (Giggling)

  7. Cheeky what browser are you using? I know Firefox has a zoom function. I'm not sure about IE.

Well...I've waited a bit to see if our kind Stynky worked some more magic on this chat site. Lo and behold...I can! Thank you Stynky for your grand work.

So Cheeky, Is your problem solved?

    (Sing songy sounding)....It's Ba..ack!

Today I tried to upload photos from a recent event, and I cannot see the entire pop-up...(far left-justified). What's a girl gonna do but call upon the grand Stynky for help!

  8. One couldn’t ask for a better event. Great people, great weather and great times all the way around! I was pleased to see so many of our crewe turn out for this event and boy did we have a ‘ton ‘o fun’!

Pictures will be posted shortly…as soon as I can get them down loaded and up for posting.

Special thanks for all of you who drove/flew out all this way and slept very little just to be with their friends.

  9. I would....if I were happy with them! I've made a total of 10...and they all are ...cough...sick looking. I'm going to ask ye for help Master Roberts when I see thee at Pike. I will be the one with a glass of ale in one hand...swearing like a sailor, and a unmade Dorset button in the other.

  10. ..... With all of that why wouldn't dorset buttons, purchased by a wealthy owner of an inn, be made with cotton thread?

It all comes down to economics, Silkie. In the book, "The Persecution of Huguenots & French Economic Development 1680-1720", by Warren C. Scoville.

The book states the by the late 1680s, both England and Holland were doing a great deal of domestic manufacturing and with the high tariffs walls protected their producers from French competition. Also, there were sumptuary laws against the use of cotton during this time.

  12. Well, I tried to change my monitor res...but no luck. I still can't see the full 'screen' Perhaps I cannot use the BB Codes. It there a restriction on software? Or could it be an Encoding issue?

  13. Some things have changed...like my parameters to the pub's 'field of view' doesn’t fit my little 15 inch screen.

When I try to add an attachment such as a link or photo to my post, the ‘field’ where you put said information is cut off on the left hand side of my screen and I cannot move over to view it. Yes, I have tried to adjust my physical screen to adjust to this…but it does not work. Any suggestions?
