From one twin to another set of twins...A Very happy belated birthday to you both!

One might think Cascabel was a right proper gentleman.
(Taken aback...)...What's this…come now Silkie, we don't wish to defame the poor man's reputation, do we (GRIN).
-
Lovely apparel, Cascabel. It's nice to see 'the other side' of you.

Yes, Red Bess....the weather cooperated until night fall on Saturday, but by then...most folks ended up going out to eat or found their way into the beer tent. Saturday nights Fireworks were a site to see. I hope that with everything going so well this year, next year will be bigger and better....
-
Let us hope that Mister Killingsworth never shows up except for after hours...
Maybe...that's if he shows at all.
-
Pictures have been posted in the gallery.

Got my washtub as an early birthday present, so I'm set for a period laundry demo thanks to my lessons at MTA
Bess will be bringing her Beetle to help ye' out.
-
Looking to do indenture servant/crime and punishment too. Still talking with Master Killingsworth to see if he's willing to show up and help Lilly McKinney with the history of English/American theater too.
-
Sorry to have missed such an event. Sounds like everyone had a splendid time. Glad to hear that the tick-count is low and no one got carried away by the mosquitos.

Event Update....
Well, after four years of 'bad weather' we had sunny skies for the majority of Friday and Saturday (didn't really start to sprinkle until 4 pm or so). The crowds were out in force and there were familiar faces all about. Master Gunner, Merchant Mary Diamond, Mr. Symms, Bess Hagerty and Lilly McKinney made their appears last weekend. We had a blast working with children at the Pirate Breakfast, taking a trip upon the ship, and making new friends with several of the actors.
Dinner at Tello's was wonderful and Saturday night's fireworks were grand. Yet, I fear we lost Gunner Beach long the way...but I'm sure he is sailing back to his home port safe and sound.
Best quote: Gunner Beach: "Lass, do you want to pet my skunk?"
Young Lass: "I all ready did and I pi@@ed my pants!"
Priceless!
With all the excitement and fun, I was made aware that there was new management this year. A brand new start. That means new lists, new voltenteers, new contacts, and new proceedures...starting from scratch.
Hopefully, those of you who couldn't make it out this year will be able to attend next year. Bring the good weather with you and have some fun...we did!
Pictures to follow shortly.

Lady B is correct.
I just got this email from the admin rep of the Port Washington Pirate Fest. I am very disappointed in the statement she/he made about the 'naughty pirates'. It just hurts those who are respectful of such events.
Correct, there is no camping at the Port Washington Pirate Festival anymore.
We had some very naughty pirates and they caused us to lose our privileges.

Every muscle is screaming and my hands still have ash embedded in the nails and callouses even after scrubbing with a brush. I may need to break down and have a manicure done. Finally, yes, the rumors are true, the ladies still love me, I have a yard arm to match my oranges.
That's our Finn. Next time...remember to wear the chest hair!
-
I smell clams! Goody Brig...are you about? Thanks again for playing with Bess and doing Maddogge's laundry. God only knows how long his drawers have seen a good cleaning.
With very little time away from the cooking and the washing...I did have time to meet and greet with Mark and Sara (I didn't even know who they were at first when they approached - they were wearing funny clothes) and Master Hawkyns, who engaged our crewe with after-hours company on Saturday evening.
After hours we were invaded by WWI Germans and Lord Gray's group, who were fully entertaining as always.
-
Great event...even though I am still exhausted...*(oh my feet are still hurting)! Cookie and Brig were a blast to work with! Lots to do in the future, but I would say that everyone was engaging and had a lovely time of it. Finally met up with Mr. Cross...(OMG!) and I must say, a wonderful gent. I do it again in a heartbeat!
Lots of great memories and great to see everyone again! Let's do it again next year.
Thank you to everyone!

Registration forms, Dutch? I remember seeing this about a month ago. Are you still working on them?
-
...That and it's hard to type while simultaneously being slack-jawed, holding my breath and taking a large noggin of (medicinal) rhum, trying all the while to keep my fingers crossed...
Captain Jim...Nice trick, that....will you show me how it is done?!
-
I sit here a little slackjawed at the posting from Spike. All of you who have been involved from the very beginning should be proud of how it grown from the beginning. It would be a very sad day if 'the powers that be' saw the end of Ft. Taylor's involvement with PIP.
I hope that matters and minds will change in the near future and that they need to ride out the storm...so to speak.
In looking back at the beginning of the year, several events are having a hard time of it and fearing to go by the wayside, such as Pyratecon.... http://www.pyratecon.com/pyratecon-2010-is-in-jeopardy.php.
All we can do is sit back and wait for those in power to realize that this is great event.

You Stynk...Stynky!
Congrats to those here on the Pub.

Yes, it was felt from IL to about 200 miles north (Milwaukee) area. It was strange to hear this...but not out of the norm. I think they had one back in early 2001.
