Rumba... do you know how to make a "duct tape and tee shirt" pattern ? Put on the tee shirt, and have a friend duct tape you into it...... Mark where you want the seams to be on the finished bodice.... have your friend CAREFULLY cut you out of the tee shirt..... You now have a rough pattern that exactly fits your body..... (you may have to adjust some of the seams and darts untill it will lay flat...)

Something like this...... Skull Hairstick The photo didn't come out very clear.... too much of a close-up (it was "flashed out" if I used the flash.....) Just whittled it .... the hardest part is to make the other one look the same......

Are "hair sticks" those (for lack of a better definition)... those "chopstick" kinda things?

Going to the Casa De Fruta Renn Fair....... There are two reasons I am excited........ One ... I'm going to wear my period buccaneer garb....... got most of it finished.... two... I will (hopefully) be taking a lady who has never been to a Renn Faire before....... I wanna pack a fun lunch..... some bread , cheese , sausage and some wine... and have a fun picknick....... kindaa make it memorable for her................... Renn Fairs be fun.... can dress her properly pyrate like..... if it works out should be cool........................

Got some more of the stuff done today...... Put the plug in the new powder horn..... took two hours of boiling th thing to get it soft enough... maybe tomarrow, I can drill guide holes, and peg the plug into place..... then do the final finish on it..... I re-hafted two knifes, one is this long thin kitchen knife... very scary looking, I still have to file some more of the tang off so it is flush with the handle (unfortunatly it's stainless ) the other knife is a high carbon steal, butcher knife... (need something to skin cows and pigs......) now I have to make scabards for then.... I had some canvas (OK so it's cotton..... it was left over from a work project, so I used it....) but I made a Hunting smock/shirt .... it's soaking in the sink with a buncha tea bags for a better color. Kinda glad that I made it outta cheaper cotton canvas first.... I think the next one will be a little longer.

Actuly, I've met quite a few Pyrates in person from the Pub..... but there are still more I want to meet.... Don't wanna try listing everyone for fear of missing someone........... Did meet Diego and Rummy last week at the Heart of the Forest Renn Faire.... they were cool......... Still gotta meet a bunch of the Southern California Pyrates this year at Ojai, and more East Coast pyrates at Pyrates in Paridise.........

A duck walks into a hardware store... and asks the clerk "Do you have any yummy duck feed?" the clerk gets mad at the duck and tell the duck "Get outta here before I nail you feet to the floor..." the duck quickly runs out of the store...... The next day, the duck returns and asks... "Do you have any yummy duck feed today ?" and the clerk gets mad again and yells.... "Get outta here before I nail you feet to the floor...." so the duck runs out of the store again.... On the third day, the duck walks in and asks.... "Do you have any nails ?" the clerk is kinda confused, but replies that they do not have any nails... so the Duck then asks.... "Well in that case, ..... do you have any yummy duck feed yet?" Hey... its better than the Duck and the lip balm joke.......

awh...... dang..... O.K. print the coat pattern..... and take it to your seamstress/steamster then let them know what you want........GoF's pattern is period...... and a good place to strat....

Aaaaaaaargh..... sorry..... but I still say, check out Gentalman of Fortunes page...... he has a tailors pattern of a Justicourp (period Coat) .... make it yer self..... (it will be so much better than a "costume shop" costume...... (note: I work in a costume shop.... and I do know period..... but the details to make it "right" are expensive....... just take your time.... make it yourself.... and you will end up with something so happly unique..........................) Sorry... I will keep up with the "Make it yourself" " learn how to sew...... " because I firmly beleave that is the way do it.........

Like I typed eairler..... It would be "cool" if we could camp inside the fort, but I don't know if we can or not........ I would like to camp because it would be cheaper, and a lot of fun (aaargh... all the other pyrates...)....... I don't know about the merchants........ But it would be cool, if there was a (say only) $20.00 per night (only for the weekend) so Pyrates could camp inside the fort for the weekend....... Don't know..... and I don't know anyone at Fort Taylor to find out.............
