  1. Well, can't help on this one. It is more biology than physics. The Duchess
  2. Oooo. Do please allow me to shed some light on this subject. The cigarette smoke is very fine particles floating in the air. These particles cause any light hitting them to diffract. Since blue light has a shorter wavelength it is more prone to scattering than red wavelength which occupy the opposite end of the spectrum. Thus while all the red/orange light passes through or is only diffracted a very small amount, the blue is scattered all over the place and we see a blueish tinge to the smoke. It's all physics. 3. Do they have style they practice or affilliations?
  4. Oh my. Do they actually refer to themselves as "black belted ninjas" or is this something you call them?
  5. Following Phil's lead from yesterday, I'm starting today off with a little Baroque music. Correlli Op. 1-12 The Duchess
  6. Possum Dixon, the first cd. But I'll be switching soon to something more angry. I've just been informed of something which I should have been told several weeks ago, that is really agravating. The Duchess
  7. Tim Malloy's, If you were walking. I'm working on a mix tape, well really a cd. The Duchess
  8. Sounds like he's just a touchy-feely flirty kind of guy (all the men in my family are this way) who likes you as a friend. But friends need to call occasionally too. It sucks to be the one who has to make all the outreach gestures, even if you're only friends. The Duchess
  9. Good to hear. I was thinking of ordering one for meself. But my wee little brother is being treated like shite by his girl friend, so I think a present for him is a better idea. I greatly enjoy the comic too... The Duchess
  10. No more than I dated myself! but, then I find myself much better company than so many other folks. The Duchess
  11. Well, Phil, isn't that what the rest of us are here for? To voice those dirty little inner thoughts? oh yeah, and song references? The Duchess

  13. Adjusted lyrics to a Randy Bachman song.
  14. Ye have a choice, Ye be my valentine, or ye be dead.
  15. Why, it is entirely my pleasure. It always makes my day, to make someone elses! The Duchess
  16. Smaller style anchors make great door stops! Or a really big one and you don't need to worry about him shutting the door in secrecy. The Duchess
  17. Patrick O'Brian talks about careening in dry dock, with the sheer hulk (also mentioned for installing masts) and by ballast. The last is when the shift all the ships contents to one side and send the best divers into to the water to clean her bottom. The Duchess
  18. The key word there is cincher. Anything remotely stiff or tight on the tummy greatly reduces the affectiveness of ones belly rolls and undulations. And those things are the "meat and bones" of belly dance. The Duchess
  19. Alright, I've consulted and Mini-Me said she'll ask out smiling Jack (he can be made to frown later) only if Phil will build them a ship. The Duchess
  20. When I'm blending my interests, I find a Gawahazee coat works quite well. Though they take a bit more sewing skill than harem pants or skirts. I have also used the Fat Chance belly Dance choli pattern. It takes some measuring and carefull piecing together but properly constructed it will you tighter than duct tape if you want. :) It is also easily modified if you would like to cover your stomach. Just simply add a long rectangular panel to the bottom band of the pattern. For the Gawahazee coat picture http://www.pyracy.com/gallery/details.php?...525&mode=search and I'll try to post one of the choli, with a drape too. The Duchess
  21. Well, if he's of the 12" scale, my action figure is single... The Duchess
  22. From the bodice aspect, it doesn't look like his leather is thick enough (or boned enough) to actually act as a bodice. More like a vest.

    Goonies!

I watched probably a year ago or so. When I was young (actually right up to eighteen months ago) I had severe asthma, hospital emergency rooms and such. I had a great eye opening expereience when I watched goonies for the first time. I could still have great adventures even though I had to carry around all my little inhalers. So there is some good that came from hollywood! The Duchess
  24. I have no idea of the historical context of those things, but I forever associate them with people of the Furries persuasion. Which is something I always found a little weird. The Duchess
