  1. Where is the picture of said tankard? All I could find was more bottles. Duchess
  2. Nope, I haven't seen that movie. I'm going to throw out a second, quote that is too obscure, just for fun. Of course this is the translated version. "I've always admired you for a great fighter. And now, you show up with a wooden sword. How disapointing."
  3. Guy 1: "And, you know, he's got emotional problems, man. " Guy 2: "You mean... beyond pacifism?"
  4. Oh no! I missed that one, I would have to it! This one is I believe "My fair lady" Duchess
  5. Yep. Well I saw the version titled "Leon" but different cut, essentially the same movie. Duchess
  6. Mallrats! Here's one "Can we try with real bullets now?"
  7. Would it help if I told you I'm in graduate school for the one science that explains all other hard sciences (as opposed to soft sciences, not easy ones)? Duchess
  8. It's a Jet Li movie, Hero I think. I recently watched Evil Cult, which is a very good Jet Li movie, but has the worst translated subtitles I've ever seen. And I leave you with a quote that fairly succinctly (in conjunction with the movie) sums up my life to date. "It's yet another in a long series of diversions in an attempt to avoid responsibility." Duchess
  9. I'll guess here since I haven't seen the movie, Jerry Mcguire? Here's one: "I've got news for you, you ain't leader of but two things jack and shit. And jack just left town."
  10. Well, that one was Sahara. A movie that isn't really like the book, but is so true to the characters I was able to predict the lines. Duchess
  11. You're other quote was Kurasawa (sp?) But I cannot recall the movie. Duchess
  12. yep. That was Shaun of the Dead. I'm shocked I didn't get the Man from Snowy River. That was my favorite movie for years when I was little. Paved the way to a teen obsession with Louis Lamour novels, I suspect. Duchess
  13. Princess Bride. "you've got a spot of red on you."
  14. If you the home improvment boning route, and I've known many who have with great success, go by a can of plastic dip too. This is the stuff that tool people dip their tool handles in for a rubbery coating to protect their hands. Dip the ends of all your boning/busking in this, that way it's less likely to wear through your material.
  15. Not that I'm aware of. But I really like that idea. Duchess
  16. Hmm. When ever I used to read your name I would slur it together and come up with "Dee's Ass in Danger" Sort of like reading a personalized liscense plate and rather the opposite of what you intended I think. My nick name is related to when I was about 10 years old and learning to fly. At that time in life I thought the Beech Duke was the best plane ever (an opinion I've since revised, my tastes run to older airplanes and a different sort of flying, though it's still a great plane) and I wanted to be the Duchess and the Duke. Ah me 10 year old brain thought that was great. And me parents teased me to no end about it. Duchess
  17. Check out some local antique stores for jewelry. Also ebay. My taste tends toward the more ethnic flavor (in case you couldn't tell ), and here is a site I like. http://www.exoticofferings.com/catalog.html Duchess
  18. Hmmm, by saturday puts a damper on most of my ideas. What about a special silk sash? A take off on the various english orders. Could be worn as scarf, sash, arm band, leg band etc. Each colour or pattern etc, for each prize. If it were a yearly thing, you could kind of induct new "members." Duchess
  19. What a wonderful idea for a press ganging! How many prizes would you like to give and does the total need to be under $25 or each prize? Duchess
  20. The dreaded hornies. Sometimes I feel like my life and the dreaded hornies just don't mix!
  21. Congratulations! I will certainly visit if life takes me San Fran. The Duchesss
  22. Hmm. Patrick O'Bryan talks of flags, latterns and guns. And since he's been so damned thorough in other historical aspects, I'd tend towards trusting him in this as well. The Duchess
