  1. Welcome to the Pub, Raymond. If yah need anything to keep yah warm up in MN, please have a drink on me. Barkeep, I'd like an Irish Honey if yah please. *nods*
  2. I'll be there on a public day...likely bringing a friend or two.
  3. I like that song as well. Currently listening to a friend on the phone (well, talking to her anyways).
  4. I received Cassandra's sketchbook in the mail today. Thanks Jill!
  5. Wow...look at all the pretties! I especially like the swords, copper kettles and pewter shtuff.
  6. Dunno (don't have Doug's contact info). Willie Wobble mentioned he also had a few of these. Could belong to either one of them.
  7. Does the honey colored one look like this (see Doug's belt)?
  8. I recommend reading Tales of Beetle the Bard too, when you get the chance. It's a quick read.
  9. Aye, my sinuses were clear (Mrs Animal?). I could smell the port-o-john's from hundreds of yards away. Mission - I'd bet the mug you have isn't what I'm thinking of then. How much stuff did people leave behind?! Seems Stynky and a few others have enough to fill an ordinary or tavern.
  10. I did that very thing at PiP. Trust me...I wasn't laughing after that. Felt like I had smoke 'n fire coming out of my nose.
  11. And when you realize that the safest place to be is surrounded by alla those Pyrates......... kinda weird... but true...... Yes - Even for Key West - it's a weird sensation feeling and knowing that the safest place to be in the whole frick'n world, was that tiny spot of remote beach, surrounded by a bunch of thugish lunatics with guns, knives and swords that have some bizarre pyrate dress-up fetish. . . I still don't fully comprehend it. I can attest to this firsthand. When a group of us went to the parade on Saturday evening, willie pulled me aside and checked to make sure my purse (pyrate pouch) was secured and hidden from pickpockets. It was nice of him to ask me, even though my guard was up already. ;-) Mission - If the wooden mug you mentioned having (a few posts up) looks anything like a miniature version of a barrel with a handle on it, it's likely willie wobble's. He confirmed he's the owner of a few of those.
  12. Thanks for catching that Willie. He's got the flag, and you have the pike. (d'oh!) So they have a stash of these for pike drills and raids? If I can catch them sometime, I'll see about learning how to make one, or maybe I can pry one away from 'em for a price. :)
  13. You too, eh dutch? Scrounging ain't no good. These should be easier to find. *grumbles* I found this link yesterday. Am I on the right track, or are these simply spears, not pikes? http://www.by-the-sword.com/acatalog/Spears_and_Poles.html
  14. These big weapons of pokiness caught my eye at PiP, as I saw a few used in battle and other events. Where might I find a pike for purchase, or should I try my hand at making one myself? I found a few armory sites that carry ash poles and the pointy bits (spears 'n such) and caps for the bottoms of the poles. Does one buy those pieces and then sand the heck out of the pointy bits to make sure they're safe for events? (Willie and Doug are both holding pikes.) (Doug, William and Willie heading off to battle with pikes. I wants a pike!)
  15. Yep, that's Scarlett Jai, and Deadeye's on the ground. Erm..Fort Edward Taylor? C'mon, you've been there more times than I have.
  16. Woo woo! I'm glad I wasn't in the way of any cameras when my (too big) bloomers kept falling down. I'll stick to laughing at your socks, heehee.
  17. This may be an "in stereo" post with Mission, but here's his Journal on the Pub: http://pyracy.com/index.php?showtopic=13744 I hope to see it, complete with pics, on his site soon. *grins and nudges*
  18. Thanks guys! And Mission, you do need to give yourself more credit. Your journal is very detailed, and gives me the giggles at certain parts, as I can picture you telling this tale first hand. Silas - I think the night pictures were a stroke of luck. I try taking shots like that at night (especially at Disney) and they never seem to come out. Come to think of it, I wonder if it's due to the overabundance of lights here, as opposed to the lantern laden encampment (where the stars gleamed like diamonds in the sky...my was it beautiful there).
  19. Imitation is indeed the sincerest form of flattery. After reading Mission's journal from PiP 07, and pouring over this past year's account after arriving home, I decided to take down my own recollections of the event. It's interesting how people's perspectives can differ so much, and intertwine at other points. Anyhow, my own humble recap is now hosted within my blog. (Mission, you've created a monster, as I'll end up doing this with each event I attend. ) http://intempesta-nox.blogspot.com/2009/01...g-paradise.html
  20. Coulda been worse, Mission. You could've been stuck with a scarf in your least favorite color (which is?).
  21. If I get my new indoor grill in the mail this afternoon (x-mas present), I'll be grilling salmon and vegetables. Still deciding on the rub or sauce for the salmon though. YES...salmon it is tonight. *happy dance*
  22. Awe c'mon...it's not that bad! And yah posted a pic of young(ish) Indy. Are yah trying to say there's somethin' wrong with his scarf?!
  23. Mission - Any chance you can snap a quick photo of the wooden mug to refresh the memory? I recall a few folks having wood drinking implements rather than pewter.
  24. 1) Whiskey Steak 2) The post office, for a whopping 5 minutes (I'm quick!) 3) Joe 4) I plead the fifth
  25. Commercials...aren't those the things that play during bathroom breaks? I'd toyed with the idea of cutting back on cable subscription in year's past, but every time I do a decent series comes on (and is cancelled after a season or two ).
