  1. great ideas, gang! Thanks so much! Toni - really like your idea, too! whoo hoo!!!
  2. I really don't know.... But I know that if I were back in that period, I wouldn't even know anything about the modern amenities that we use on a daily basis in these modern days... so I wouldn't know what I was missing, right? AND if I were back in that time period, with different values and different expectations required from women, I don't think I can even begin to imagine what type of person I would have been. I have always been healthy, robust, and have always chipped in and done the hard work. I probably would be a tavern wench, depending on my family's financial status in society. BUT if I were to go "back in time" having known the modern amenities, I think I would last about 1 week. That is about how long I can last camping. And I would want toilet paper and skin lotion and a toothbrush soooo bad.
  3. OK - I am trying to come up with pyrantical drinking game ideas for a "Drunks of the Carribean" party I am hosting. Nothing with sand, or is too hard to do, and I want to find games that various party goers can play, in a competition-like fashion w/ prizes at the end. Not everyone will be in pyrate/bodice wear, so that can't be the crux of the game, either. I am ususally pretty creative when it comes to such things, but I really am stumped. I know the thoughts of water balloons, a kiddie pool, and a whole bunch of golf balls keep coming into mind for some reason tho... who knows, maybe I am on to somethin?
  4. ahh - then I am sure I did. Especially iffen it was near the bar! I was upstairs most of the time. Photos of our adventures that night are on the URLs in my signature. I was the one in Burgundy and Black.
  5. hmmmm - then I must have met you Queen Rogue?
  6. hmm - well, I be pretty good at comin up with names and such, but I need a little more inspiration - what is your band like, a few of the songs/type of music being played (Rock is such a general term), is there a photo?? too bad Motley Crue was already taken!!!
  7. Aye, as a recently dubbed honorary member of the Jury Rig (Baltimore-ish area), welcome! Alas, I cannot sing any better than a howling cat by the light o' the full moon, but would love to hear your group and maybe have an outing with both crews once yours is up an runnin.
  8. aaand here's our set of fotos... http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/dr_dewman/al...hBX8dBBzflRmgHT I really AM snarling in every single photo... tee hee.
  9. Aye, we had some rain, but with many drinks down our gullets, it didn't seem to matter and the show went on! (the lower deck was covered). It was a fantastic night!
  10. Woo hoo! The cruise is tonite, and I be so stoked! Got the garb ready, added a few adornments to me trusty hat, and just watching the clock... Duncan - I will see ya there! I was poking around your Jury Rig site, very interesting. Saw your pic, hope I can pick you out. I will have a pewter pin on w/ me name (Blender Wench) and wearing burgundy and black.....
  11. Not for the opening, but will certainly do my best to be there for the Pyrate Invasion Weekend! Blackjohn Ahh yes, the Pyrate Invasion is a must! Oh yes, to clarify for those who are making it to MDRF- the actual OPENING DAY on Saturday, August 28th.
  12. Woo hoo! I finally got my ticket, and good to go! yippee.....
  13. A Birfday!!!!!! Well, let's make is a great one... I am prepping the blender now. Happy Day!!
  14. Wow Willie and Dreamie! I am in awe... Grab your tankards, drink a spot of me Rum to show my appreciation and respect for such finery... Huzzah!!! I am not an artist by any measure, but am really good at manipulating/airbrushing photographs.... I took a person out of this one and substituted it with something else... see if you can guess which one in the photo is me.... (tee hee) http://www.pyracy.com/gallery/details.php?image_id=404
  15. Fantastic! Actually, I will probably see you even sooner @ the Pyrate Cruise, too!
  16. I certainly hope so! I have a birfday party for a wee neice on the 21st, and her father is not very happy about the selection of the date (as he is a very bawdy pyrate in the worst sense) but his wifey says the daughter's b-day is a must, and alas, I must agree. So... the 22nd is on a Sunday. There is a good possibility. My only concern is the 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive home after all is ended. Were you at the Celtic Fling a few weeks back? I met so many people there, who said they will be at the Pyrate Invasion Weekend, but never got names..... I have one accquaintance in a wheelchair who is a regular at MDRF, although the terrain is rocky, he stays around the White Hart Tavern, since that is where the most popular musicians frequent!!
  17. wooo hooo!!!! (dances a little jig). I have a "Drunks of the Carribean" party coming up, that would be an awesome adornment to put in my Pyrate Cove!
  18. Alas, my sweet Willie, I wish I could.... methinks me needs to hurry up and do plenty more plunderin in da next few weeks to make that possible.
  19. I have seen random posts of those who live in or around the murky waters of Baltimore, and was curious... Is anyone planning on attending Opening Day of the Maryland Renaissance Festival? I have a large crew of ruffians that will be attending - partially to help commemorate me birthing day.... But, perhaps we can find a time/place to raise some hell and watch the Pyrates Royale and put a face to the name? Here - if interested, I propose meeting at the White Hart Tavern at 12:45, right before the first showing of the Pyrates Royale on Opening Day, August 28th. Any takers???????
  20. I was birthed near the waters in Virginia Beach. Since then, I have moved up and down the east coast, but never too far from shore. I currently work and play in the drunken rowdy region of the Port of Baltimore, Maryland - in Fells Point - overlooking the waters of the mighty Chesapeake Bay. I look out my window and see many ships and schooners and various boats of all shapes and sizes. I feel the breeze and the salty stench of dead crabs daily - ahh, love that air! I reside not far from there, in a wee merchant town slightly off the water, near a river and forest, by the name of Catonsville.
  21. That I can do! ::::runs to trunk and starts mixing flavours for a fabulous potent flavor:::: ::::tastes creation:::: hmmm - I think I will name this one "Liquid Orgasm." - any takers of the drink?
  22. And are ye well paid for this hospitality? Of course! In a place to stay, rum, protection, and company of others. If there is something I so desire, may it be a garment or a trinket, I will have it. And, to add - just learned Captain Scurvy Dog offered some unsolicited compensation - many thanks!
