  3. We haven't directly coordinated the vendors, so I don't have the exact list of who's who and such..... but I believe there will be a few pirate/faire sort of vendors, however not an overwhelming amount that would constitute hours of shopping and browsing. Of course I would llike promote Privateer day... but if your main goal is to get shopping done before the invasion (vendor booths close at 6pm) as well as just enjoy the area and participate in the commencement invasion sail into port, maybe try to be there around 2:30 - 3:00? (The Invasion is at 4:00 and that is when things will start to get busy from there on out...)

  5. Baltimore Pyrate Invasion Pre-Registration Registration Booth will open at 5:00 p.m. Registration is located on Broadway Square (the center of Fells Point) AVOID THE LINES! Pre-Register online!! http://www.baltimorepyrateinvasion.com/ To avoid the long registration lines, pre-register and then instead of waiting in the long lines the day of the invasion, you can just give your (real) name and grab your booty bag and off you go! Just one more chance to speed up the process between you and your pint! This year there will be a small cover charge of $5.00 per person. This cover charge will provide the savvy pirate with booty-saving coupons, drink and food discounts, as well as special pyrate treasure that can only be obtained by participating. This event is 21 and over. Please do not forget to bring your ID for registration. Come early and enjoy privateer day! There will be a costume contest at 5:00 p.m.
  6. ( according to the Star Spangled banner lyrics , for those not familiar with history, was about Ft McHenry during the war of 1812) but unfortunately, no matter what we pyrates do, the flag will still be there in spite of rockets red glare and bombs bursting in air. ohhh all too familiar w/ Ft McHenry being the subject of our national anthem. Very glad you mentioned it as a reminder, tho. That may be a useful trivia to put on the invasion website. You wouldn't believe how many Marylanders don't even know that!!! Involve Ft. McHenry? That has also been something I would like to do in the future. I have been kicking that idea around for about a year now. I first want to get the corporate represenation to make our venture more "bonafide" and not just a bunch o' drunks rabble rousing - which I think we finally accomplished... so who knows? maybe that will be the next strategic move in future years??????
  7. Camping at Ft. McHenry? Wow. I didn't even know that was an option to anyone. That would be really really cool to do.
  8. There's also the KOA campground off I-97, where the Juryrig camps during MDRF. Baltimore City is a City, so practically all cement. So there isn't a nearby campground. The closest campground is out in the County, Patapsco State Park. Crimson Corsair provided that link. That is about a 20-25 minute drive from the City (it is also right next to my house!) The KOA where the jury rig camps - it is even further away. It will be about a 40 minute drive. Just FYI - a cab ride from Baltimore City to Catonsville (Patapsco State Park) is approximately $40. To the KOA would cost even more.
  9. Finally! We have more details!!! Specifics can be found at the now greatly re-vamped and updated website: www.baltimorepyrateinvasion.com Baltimore Pirate Invasion April 28, 2007 11:00 a.m. until... ?? Invasion Pub Crawl registration begins at 5:00 p.m. Registration booth is at the Broadway Square, in the heart of Fells Point $5 cover charge for participants. This is a 21 and over event. ID required. Dust off your best pirate gear and prepare to invade! Due to the ever-growing attendance of the Baltimore Pyrate Invasion, we decided to switch things up this year. The Registration Booth will be on Broadway Square, and we are charging a $5 cover charge to offset the costs. AVOID THE LINES! Pre-register for this event early. Details on the cover charge and pre-registration are provided under the "Pre-Registration" tab on the left. (registration form is pending) PYRATES EN MASSE! To help with overcrowding of pubs, there will not be a dedicated route sequencing which bars to frequent. There will be participating taverns offering drink and food specials to those that have registered. So be off with ye... go out and INVADE! MAKE A DAY OF IT! Come early and enjoy Privateer Day and compete in the costume contest! CRUISE ON CLIPPER CITY'S CLIPPER! Clipper City Ship will be the invasion's floating tavern. There will be a pyrate cruise later that night for interested pyrates, rogues and wenches for an additional fee. Like to show off how Pirate Savvy you really are? Local media will be present.
  10. Yeah, we really were targeting for that date, but it was not possible for all parties involved. I hope you were able to change your ressies????
  11. UPDATE We are still sorting out the details, but I must say that this year's event is shaping up to be very exciting with so many new things to see and do!! Some information regarding the events during the day - the Privateer Day - can be found here: http://www.fellspointdevelopment.com/privateerday.html Also, we are looking for more vendors and entertainers during the day. If you would like to have a booth, it is $125 for the day and you must provide your own 10x10 pop-up. Vendor registration info is also at the website above. Entertainers can email info@fellspointdevelopment.com We would love to have any and all vendors, but in particular it would be nice to see more faire/pirate-focused wares being sold. There is also a need for face painters, henna artists, and anyone with experience giving fencing demonstrations. If you would like to volunteer, especially during the day to help with children's activities please send an email to info@fellspointdevelopment.com
  12. Hide the Rum….Here come the Pirates!! The Third Annual Baltimore Pyrate Invasion will be on April 28, 2007. This year we won’t just be a band of plunderin’ pyrates running amok at night, we will be raiding the streets of Fells Point during the sunlight hours, as well! This year the fyne folks from the Fells Point Development Committee and our friends at Clipper City Brewing Company have banded together and joined our crew to plan an all-day event: A family-friendly Privateer Day during the daylight hours, and a Pyrate Invasion (grog crawl) in the evening for those rogues and wenches over the age of 21. If any of ye peddlers would be wantin’ to vend your wares on Broadway Square during the day, put a message in a bottle and send it off to info@fellspointdevelopment.com Booth space is limited!! So shake a peg leg and be prepared to join the invasion… if this be your first year, we promise you will be hooked! www.baltimorepyrateinvasion.com (more details to follow)
  13. Photos from the 2006 Balitmore Pyrate Invasion can be found at the invasion's website: www.baltimorepyrateinvasion.com If you have a link to photos that you would like to share please email them to blenderwench@gmail.com Once again, than you for joining us in making this event such a success!
  14. I would like to thank everyone who came out to Baltimore this weekend for the 2nd Annual Pirate Invasion - The Heavy Seas. We estimate that there were between 250 - 275 pyrates invading Fells Point this past Saturday! GREAT JOB! If anyone has photos that they would not mind sharing publically, please email me at blenderwench@gmail.com and provide a URL so I can add a link to those photos to the invasion's website. I already have a list of about 6 links and that list is sure to be growing. Once again, thank you!!! ~ The Crimson Corsair (Kenny) and Blender Wench (Vicki, the pregnant pyrate)
  15. The Pyrate Invasion Website has been updated with 'lil tidbits of information so check it out: www.baltimorepyrateinvasion.com Reminder to folks that this is next weekend. So dust off the garb, line up the babysitters, and get ready for a night out at Fells Point (21 and over, please). More to follow.....

This year we be havin several more taverns a 'beggin for us to plunder! A treasure map of the area will be provided to you the night of the invasion indicating the ports o'call and also some optional locations if you be wantin to stir up a raidin party with ye mates! Yes, there will be a bar! Let's show them we're more than just snazzy dressers! Reservations are strongly advised and garb encouraged. Call Clipper City Ticket Sales at 410-539-6277
  18. Crimson - use your judgement. Just like in April. I think a pin would be fine but keep in mind this is in the CITY with a lot of drunkards and also folks who have a penache for arguing with the invisible people that only they can see. This is a drinking port. Would you be allowed to walk down the street carrying a sword? nope. Local legal rules apply, no exceptions. i would even be weary of replicas - pistol, blade etc. i will, however, be wearing my flogger (it was OK'd last time) but safely secured.
  19. Blenderwench, you loiter at the white hart? no way, who'd have thunk that? Surprise, surprise. And where have you loitered at faire, sir? Have we met??? (snicker). Oh yeah, and I have a nasty 5 letter word that begins w/ H that may prohibit me to go. Of course, except for Sept. 10th - then I will be in Fells Point. You should come by after faire if you are still good-to-go.
  20. oh yes - and to recognize me, I will have a pewter pin that says Blender Wench and I also will have my black pyracy pub pin. I typically loiter around the white hart tavern. You could probably ask anyone who looks like a regular and is in garb to point me out and most will probably be able to do so.
  21. Yup. I have a season pass, so I will be there mostly every weekend, at least one of the days if not both.
  22. I was given a few more details on the Privateer Day not too long ago. Let me explain - no, that would take too long. Let me sum up: Privateer Day Fells Point in Baltimore, Maryland September 10, 2005 Celebrate Fells Point’s 275th Anniversary - a seaport village with a past. Learn about the neighborhood’s privateers and their feats of derring-do. Noon - 5:00 p.m.: Entertainment, storytelling, ship tours, etc.....throughout Fells Point Area - particulary on Broadway Street 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.: Pirate costume contest with prizes at the Square on Broadway; Registration for the Grog Crawl - ($7 fee. Participants will receive a metal tankard as well as other gifts) 6:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.: Grog Crawl! If you arrive after 6:00 p.m., you can register for the Grog Crawl at One Eyed Mikes (708 S. Bond Street) Details can be found at: http://www.fellspointdevelopment.com/privateerday.html Sponsored by the Fells Point Development Corporation
  23. Just found out, due to family emergency, I won't be making it to this, afterall. So be sure to raise a tankard or two for me!
  24. Black John and Black Dog - I will look into this and find answers for you. (I am not hosting this one - just helping to get the word out). I know that it is still in the very preliminary stages of development overall. As soon as I find out more, I will definately post on this thread, so keep checking back.
  25. 1:30 Saturday - I am good w/ that.
