  1. Will do Captain. It's a shame you can't make it, as we're fairly short on pirates and I know Blake would love to see you again. There's got to be some wayward pirates out there that can make it for an hour. Heck so for most of us are driving or flying down from Nor-Cal. It would be nice to be able to fill the room with "fans"
  2. Ah! But there's more to it than that! We're not just showing it to him... We are trying our best to make him feel as though he's a "movie star"! We're talking red carpet, cameras flashing, pirates (and regular old folk) asking for autographs, full size movie posters and pirate swag and decorations. All we need now is an audience full of enthusiastic pirates to cheer for the star and boo at the villains, so come help us put the icing on the cake ...if ya take my meanin'.
  3. I'll be doing a quick flight in and a quick one out in the moring myself, due to already having a piratical performance lined up that Sunday. But after 3 months of Fx and editing and sweetening, there's no way in hell I'm not gonna be there! For all of you SoCal pirate types that are planning on attending make sure to pick up some swag to have Buccaneer Blake autograph. Afterall we want to make him feel like the movie star he is! You can find some inexpensive postcards or stickers and other fun booty at www.cafepress.com/buccaneerblake This is all up there with no mark-up of any kind to try to make it a reasonable as possible for all. Blake hisself will be recieving a jersey and a framed movie poster.
  4. I really miss the old stunt show out front. Not that I mind half nekkid sirens ....but still
  5. I'll be takin' some pics this Saturday for sure. Can't wait ta see 'em me self.
  6. Aye! The date for the Southern "premiere" has yet to be set as Make a Wish is planning on doing it up right. They have asked that no copies be made available to anyone until Blake has seen it and has his own copy. The premiere will be a surprise for Blake and we're sure as heck fire tryin' ta keep it that way! The big fun will be if we can get a buncha So-Cal pirates there to ask Blake for his autograph and such at the event and make him feel like the star he has become! So if'n yer interested pop by Blake's Pirate Swag Store and pick up some postcards or posters or t-shirts,etc to have him sign before coming to the event! Poison Quill will be lettin' everyone know when I'm sure!
  7. Seems to me he'd at least have a lawyer Or is he hoping one will jump on this for free when they see how many dubloons can be made Good grief And I agree...what the hell took this long to bring it up?
  8. Dang I have shows this whole weekend as Spareribs. Otherwise the family and I would be there. We'll be going on the final weekend I think. Have fun!
  9. Oh man, I have been wanting a Batmobile kit for ever (the 60's version) I'll never get it because I'd rather have something useful like a pirate ship. But I fully understand your desire! Good luck with your sale sir!
  10. your pics just don't do the work justice. These are some of the finest costumes I've seen in a long time. And the ship in your wig was...well... a ship in your wig! great work
  11. Flying with weapons? is that anything like running with scissors? sorry
  12. Folks keep tryin' ta talk me into gettin' the Sparrow tattoo as i spend quite a bit of time re-doing it with the old sharpie before events. I've actually have been considering it. but then there's the folks who think that it would be crazy. Not that I'm a fanatic about accuracy, just that it would be a cool reminder of my time spent portraying the character. Then again it would be me first ink and I'm a little chicken to boot.
  13. I be an old grandpa of two young pyrates And me at the old, old age of 42.7
  14. ARRRR!! Quite a night! One more ter go! If'n ya missed last night, be sure ta catch it tonight as it was great fun for all involved!
  15. It's gonna be a bit before the dvd is ready. This post production stuff takes a bit. Particularly when there can't be any real pre-pro. In fact we may need to shoot some insert shots to make this thing flow like the "film" it should be for Blake's Adventure! After all part of his wish was to "act in a movie" :) But when it's done, we'll make sure everybody that wants one gets one!
  16. It's gonna be a goody! And if'n yer in the area fer the Ball then why not stay and pop on by Harbor Bay on Halloween night itself! We be hosting quite a crew.
  17. many of the good stuff is on DV tape and we'll have quite a few hours to go through for the edit. I plan on grabbing good stills out of it to add the the pics as well! So hang on Bess! Yer pics are coming...just let me catch me breath!
  18. Aye! Pictures there are mates. These are but a few. Sort of a cross-section of the day. These were a couple taken by Teri from Make-a-Wish in the restaurant and some by my daughter on the dock and from verious travels throughout the day trying to keep up. And then some taken with Quill's camera on board during the sail. After we finish editing, adding VO and SFX I'll try to figure a good way to make the DVD available to all who would like a copy. The images are here Blake's Wish and feel free to browse the rest of my site as there are many past pyratical adventures in the gallery. -Ace
  19. Aye captain. After a couple of weeks of editing, sweetening, special FX, 3D opening sequence, and ending credits (maybe a blooper/outtake ending) and it WILL be a fine film for the DVD I may have to purchase some more space from my ISP, but there should also be a section of pirate4hire.com that will be devoted to the adventure and Blake, the star of the show.
  20. Aye. My sash is also about 19 feet long and a little more than a foot wide. I had to hand paint the stripes since I just couldn't find the right material out there.
  21. Aye! Well that be good news. I still say we give 'em no quarter! And if'n ya need anything Redd...ya know where I be.
  22. Too bad the folks at the faire who make the decisions decide they don't like pirates. The marketing folks liked the idea (since they named it pirate/privateer day) and the day I was there all the patrons loved it, the participants seemed to like it quite a bit too. I was even taken by a sherriff or some important type to meet the queen herself. Unfortunately we were told not to come back apparently. Black listed as it were. I guess we're true pirates now.
  23. Aye! That is fantastic Bess! We are planning an amazing day for the young lad and it's wonderful to see so much support.
