  5. Videos on youtube from my Surprise adventure Link to Oderlesseye's photos. He was aboard the Californian. http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a364/ode.../HMS%20Suprise/
  6. Okay, I just have to jump into this discussion. The Rose is restored and sailing. I was a gunner aboard her during San Diego's Fleet Week the first weekend in May. We fired 6 guns aboard after having to haul out the replicas that were used for the movie. The Surprise aka Rose cannot be used for passengers because she is a foreign made hull; that is what we were told. She won't pass US Coast Guard inspection for carrying passengers. The only way to sail on her is to be crew or crew in training. Since I was on the gun crew, manning the 6lb cannon (definitely bragging here), I was able to enjoy our 'motoring' around San Diego Harbor. Sadly, we were unable to sail because of the time committments to the gun salutes and cannon battles with the Tallship Californian. Here is an excerpt from my blog on myspace... On August 11th, the Surprise aka Rose will be at the Channel Islands Tallship Festival in Oxnard, CA. Next she's headed to the LA Maritime Museum and then back down to San Diego for their Festival of Sail. and no...you're never getting her back.
  7. Congrats, Lady B. Ye bring smiles to all our hearts.
  8. Don't forget being charged with 'assault' on her majesty's soil... oh wait, that might make in un-insurable from a producer's point of view.
  9. Aye Captain, I hopes ye have a grand time. We be missin ye on the West Coast these days.
  10. That is wonderful! Congratulations to Captain Lauren Morgens. Silkie, Thanks again for the inspiration. ~BHP
  11. There be two pirate groups in attendance. Port Royal Privateers are special first time guests as we will be running the cannons and rogue privateers, a subset group of brethern of the coast, has taken over that old space.
  12. I'll take what I can get. Keep up with sails and stories, Lass.
  13. Aye, it was good to see you Graydog on Saturday and the rest of yer crew on Sunday. What is this rumbling I heard about ye liking my treasure chest? Don't be trying to steal me treasure.
  14. It's all in the attitude, Callenish, not in the package. Then I'm partial to things with character of age. Congratulations to you both.
  15. Aye mate, I be leaving port early tomorrow AM. I've got 6 hours ahead of me. Good thing gas is cheaper in Arizona, but probably not for long.
  16. I have yet to know on Long Beach as I was suppose to sail to Avalon that weekend, however it looks like that may be scuttled. So there is a chance I might make it to Long Beach, but with cabin boys in tow.
  17. Aye mate, I'll be coming from another direction. See ya there.
