  1. What if you have a spacific look you're going for? Say gentleman pirate circa 1662-1688? Also, I portray a pirate nich I call 'Pirate Legends' where the legends of pyracy's golden age such as buried treasure, walking the plank, treasure ships and pirate flagships are common place, but so is historical accuracy, basically like Cutthroat Island.
  2. I would like to, and a custom Jolly Roger is on my shopping list, but i don't have the funds just now, maybe in a couple months we could talk?
  3. I would think swivel guns would be mounted on the tops, and maybe the british commander was exxagerating because of the damages his ship was receiveing from the American's broadsides.
  4. I'd love to have a fine ship like the bounty, now I need to set sail and plunder the caribbean for some money...if only i had a ship. This is starting to sound like that chicken and egg thing me bosun told me about.
  5. From the album: Pirate Art

A picture I drew of myself in essentually the same outfit I have now, but with some minor differences, standing on the aft of my ship. Image is based upon a Howard Pyle painting.
  6. From the album: Pirate Art

    Another Tresure map I drew
  7. From the album: Pirate Art

  8. From the album: Pirate Art

a picture of a pirate ketch out to sea.
  9. wow... And I thought I had talent for reproducing old documents. This is beautiful! I think I'll stick to Treasure Maps and ship's articles and things of that nature from now on
  10. I agree, Pirate captains often eminated gentlemen of the period, and Blackbeard, when not wearing smoking cannon fuses in his beard, was reputed to have dressed in bright red gentleman's attire. This appears to be a gentleman's blade, and I wouldn't be surprised if he wore this blade at his side to show off his wealth when he was out on the town.
  11. Wow... incredible... simply incredible, these are true peices of art my friend!!!!
  12. My leather guy made a leather scabbard for one of Matt's BKS cutlasses, I'll probably get him to make the scabbard for mine when it gets here. I could get you his info if you want.
  13. I vaguely remember reading or hearing about tea bricks at one point, but I don't recall all the details, I'll have to ask my uncle, He's a big history/ any-topic-under-the-sun buff
  14. Happy Birthday lassie! be sure to Drink all ye can and eat as much rum cake as you care for, because as Garfield the cat says "If you don't indulge yourself, nobody will!"
  15. yeah, I want the Queen Anne's Revenge and the Black pearl so badly, I'll probably build onto 'em and make em more elaberate. BTW I'm actually building a pirate flagship with my sets right now, three masted, four hull sections, and I've figured out how to make a spritsail topmast on the bowsprit and make the mizzen mast be square rigged with the a addition of a lateen mizzen sail. I'm also rebuilding my old Redbeard Runner and making a custome merchant ship using bits of my Black Seas Barracuda and a couple smaller pirate sloops BTW if in case you don't know about it check this site out http://www.classic-pirates.com/

  18. Probably a lot of us played with lego pirate sets when we were younger, I still do, and the new PotC line may be a reason for reinvigoterated interest. Who else is excited? or has thoughts on the matter?
  19. Thanks for the precise dates Foxe. I'm currently working on an illustration of the QAR and wanted to know if the spritsail topmast design I love, and used, is plausible for Blackbeard's flagship. I also read that she may have lost her figurehead in a storm, is it possible Blackbeard would have replaced it with something more piratey? Though I suppose that since pirates tried to conceal their ship's origonal identities, and refit them for their new purpose, he may have replaced the figurehead anyway.
  20. Got a job offer to dress in my pirate garb and make jewelry at a store in geneva called 'Treasure Island'
