  1. Dutch - Maybe just to clarify the questions asked... both mugs look about the same size except the 'tea' mug is tapered fluted at the top and the 'coffee' mug has straight sides, correct? Jas. Hook It'll be strange drinking from a stoneware mug that doesn't have a brewery logo on it.
  2. Dutch - I'll take two of the 'tea' mugs. Jas. Hook Just walk me through the Paypal thingie or are you sending a Paypal invoice?
  3. Dutch - Nothin' like a good stoneware mug, hot coffee and a dollop o' rum to ward off the comin' Autumn an' Winter chills. Ouch! M'lady just poked me in the ribs... "Tea is better for ye and you mind yourself 'round the rum jar." says She. Jas. Hook

  7. I have a 1740's hanger with a brass hilt and don't know what type of brass that was used in its construction. Once cleaned of the factory coating it just didn't seem to age any and stayed too bright to suit the subdued appearance I sought. I was experimenting with a liquid gun bluing on a cutlass blade and some of the solution dribbled on its hilt and darkened the brass. I re-cleaned the hanger's hilt and applied the gun bluing to the hilt and the brass began to darken. It's a bit messy but tne results achieved were quite satisfactory and I now have a hanger more suitable for a formast hand than the swabs on the aft deck. Jas. Hook

  10. Save the blade and trash the rest. Make an entirely new hilt in either brass or steel. Anything you do to the existing hilt will not hide it's origin. >>>> Cascabel Ahoy, Cascabel - It be time to start that project... without any pommel to unscrew, any clue as to hilt's disassembly?????? Thankee sir. Jas. Hook
  11. Cap'n S - The movie score from Treasure Island (TV movie) was written and performed by the Chieftains. Mixed tunes with a celtic flavor and was released on CD, as I believe, Chieftains Reel Music Film Cuts. It also contains some of their other film scores. Jas. Hook
