Hey Dogge! I have Hurricane's Rum Punch that I would be happy to trade you for some of the cobbler or shepherds pie....... Hell, if you cook over by us and I get first dibs on the cobbler, I'll likely keep your tankard full while ya cook....
-
Pout... No fair.... Ok, I'll take care of your stuff anyways..... grumble....

Sigh.... That's Daughter (Take a look, it's pretty obvious I am more equipped to be a daughter than a son) of hell and I'm the 2nd daughter of hell... at least until I kill of daughter number one and become first and best daughter... quit demoting me.... Meanwhile, as long as there is armor to play with, your things will get to you safely....ok... well the rest of the things will...I'll likely be running around Key West in the armor... Diosa

Hey Sterling, Wasn't trying to be too bitchy or anything... although that generally is my personality and I never have acquired this thing called tact.... It also wasn't aimed at you or this particular portion of the topic... There is always a lot of second guessing what the guys down there are doing and I feel for em. They are already being run around in circles just trying to deal with all the paperwork and other crap that we never have to even think about that allows this thing to happen. Events are a pain in the arse to run (thus the reason I have NEVER wanted to run one). Ya know, we're all getting a pretty sweet deal. We get a free place to stay in Key West for up to a week (depending on when you arrive), which is a HUGE savings... Hurricane and I just spent $350 for 3 days in the cheapest place we could find.... The view from the encampment area is completely awesome. I was standing there the other day and it's just beautiful. We get to have fun and play pirate in the islands... I figure it doesn't get any better. If sleeping is a little cramped, I'll just find a good looking pirate to sleep on and be done with it :)

Capt Sterling - Just as a note, that area looks like it has been raked and leveled a bit... it actually looked pretty darn nice and they were still working when we were there Everybody - Ok kids, Less whining.... Where my crewe was sleeping last year has 2 full sized cannons in the space this time around and we're figuring out how to fit DOUBLE of us in there this year.... You're going to be in freakin Key West! Why focus on the negative?!?!? Hell, most of the pirates will be too damn drunk to find their tents most of the time anyways... Less grumbling... more creative camping :) Or for those who watch Project Runway... Make it work.... Diosa

and then there's the whole libretto from CATS that I suppose is an option...

Hey MerryDeath!! You hold in there hon! My sister is doing amazingly well and a great shining testament to what fighting can do for you! She had a double mastectomy and went through the horrors of chemo, but is looking great these days! And QM, This one's for you! Here's our promotional pic of Our Red Handed Jill and I for our 'Fill My Chest... Find a Cure' campaign. We have a national talk show slot on radio later this month and they wanted a promotion pic for their website.... :) Michelle

Ahoy All! For those on the Tavern as well as here, forgive the cross post... but I know some folks are not on both boards. While everyone thinks we pirates are all about taking stuff, every now and then some of give a little back. Our crewe has started a relay for life team to benefit the American Cancer Society. We want to fill their treasure chest with gold to find a cure for this damned disease.... My sister had a hell of a struggle with breast cancer a few years back and thankfully is on the mend after a lot of chemo and surgery. Last year we lost a member of our Pyrate family to cancer and another of our family is battling with it right now. We have started our fundraising and are now booking gigs that will go all to charity, as well as coming up with all sorts of other things, but not all of you are down in the SE..... So, here's the deal. I know we pyrates aren't rich, but every few dollars count. If everyone on here were to just drop 5 bucks in the proverbial pot that would be an overflowing treasure chest!!! If you have more great! The links below are to my donation site through the American Cancer society as well as our crew site. By the way... if you do happen to see us out and about, hail one of our wenches. We all are trying to fill our 'treasure chests' with cash for the cure!! Thanks! Hey all, Hurricane and I are just fine. while the yard is under water, our house is 3-4 feet off the ground.... Here's our neighborhood....... Here's the catfish Hurricane was talking about..... http://comstation.com/images/walkingcatfish.mov

Eh? i was talkin 'bout DIOSA!!!!! I doubt it.... Pretty much the only chance you have when I'm a pirate is if i'm in shackles again and two guards are holding me at the time...and that'll only give ya a head start..... If I'm in Mayan form... forget about it... I've got a machete to you before you know what hit you :) start running....
-
Dear Dear Dogge.... I hate to disagree with you.... (ok, well maybe not...) I doubt even you and your 'svelte self' can really make that walk in 5 minutes... it's a bit further than that... But a walk through Key West is never a bad thing and only Pansy Pirate couldn't make it.... You may want to invest in rolling luggage..... Or get in contact with some of us local-ish folks who will have vehicles in tow and we'll take care of you.... ok... well Dogge...maybe not you (unless I get to play with your armor then there's room for negotiation).... but anyone else.... By the way, our crewe all staying till Monday.......
-
Ah Dogge, you may want to think twice... while Hurricane is the Capt by title, when it comes down to it, I am the one who is in charge of making sure the crewe is doing what I... i mean the captain... think they should be doing.... and your armor will only help you so much.... On a 'so you want to go to Port Royal' note.... I am going to put together a bigger trip for our crewe next year to Jamaica... A lot will be focused on Port Royal, but also beyond... we want to go to Spanish Town and see some of the old documents.... head over to Noel Cowards Place (which was Morgan's years ago....) and some other stops around the island. As I get more together about it, I will make sure the crewe of the Archangel is kept in the loop, as I know you all enjoy a good historical jaunt as much as the next pirate.... Might I advise saving your pennies now... My estimation is that it will be about a 7 day trip....and likely around $1200... but that would include airfare, hotels, some meals, a driver for 3-4 days to take us all over the place, trips out to rackams cay, gun cay, lime cay, possibly a wreck site (which they say is at snorkel depth), the fort, some nature things (like the falls and caves), a street party, etc etc.... I was already talking to people down there about it on this trip.. Many members of our crewe have not made it yet to Jamaica and want a 'do it all' trip. It will likely be next July. I am already working on it, believe me...to get approval for seeing things like the books in the library can take almost a year.... island time ya know..... But I'll keep you up to date... Awww... C'mon Dogge, I figured you could be my guard this year.... unless ya can't handle me.... :) I'll try not to hurt you too much... :) Besides, I thought you were gonna teach me how to take the butt of a gun to the back....

Ahoy, Hurricane's 1/2 Mayan wife here.... Here's my thought. Sure, I can see the reference being the illnesses and such... but there could be more to it... For the Mayan people, everything they did (whether bloody or not) was done for reason, with a ritual attached. Heck, to this day, if you go up into the mountains in Belize, you can talk to the Mayans who will tell you they can only make new thatched roof huts on particular days, with the cycles of the moon, as a respectful gesture to nature and for the health of the tree.... they still operate that way... If you lived where everything in life was 'ritual' and a bunch of clanking guys came in, chopping and burning as they moved along, trashing anything in their way to get gold and other valuables they wanted, they would be seen kind of like pigs.... just rutting around looking for stuff.... and making a mess... didn't help that they brought diseases with them....

it was a little toasty and humid. I usually am cocooned in a blanket, but barely made use of a sheet in the fort.....

Never ever trust the airlines with your hat!!! We always carry or wear them...even if there are a bunch.... we look kind of like the pirate hat guy in the POTC ride..... :) Being dressed as a pirate is also pretty easy on security... they figure with how much we stand out, we probably aren't a threat.... not to mention we have a fabulously choreographed boot removal system that could likely be set to music.....
-
No, no, no... now in order to do that correctly, you must pull the hair out of your mouth with great difficulty after it blows there and mutter "Damnation! Bloody wig!! I am sure I would have done that, but since my shackles were attached to Anne's shackles and she was already pulling me far to her side, the pulling the hair out of the mouth just wasn't working. I'll do better next time....

That is a great pic of Master Studley! As for the 4 boys in my pics.... the one you are missing is Bootleg, from our Pyrates of the Coast Crewe/ Port Royal area....He is not on pyracy.... Also in the final photo...you snagged the wrong chic.... Sheila was on the right side of the picture... You posted Charlie and Charlie's mom....
-
Among others who were not in previous photos... Yours truly on the right, a slight bit irritated at the idea of hanging at the end of a rope.....also doing my best Capt Sterling 'hair sweeping across the face' impression.... Sheila on the right (with the now famous Charlie) On the right is Hurricane, next to him is Master Studley, and next to him Capt Morgan on the pub (Touche' by Pyrate name).
