I'm sure most of you know which flag I'm talking about - the one with the Jolly Rogers surrounded by a gold circle saying "Pirate Republic" and "No Quarter Given" Anyways, can anyone tell me if this flage is legible from both sides, or is the text backwards from one direction?

Might any of you good souls know where a decent , honest , kindly and hard working fisherman might find a purveyor of good solid cannons . I've gone to the Steen cannon web site but they don't make naval type guns , and anyplace else I have inquired say that they don't recomend the firing of blackpowder in their replica guns. A cannon that does'nt belch flames or sound like thunder isn't much fun ...

Just in case any of you were unaware, you can often find piratey stuff at Hot Topic and Torrid, stores in a chain that sell punk & other "alternative" clothing. None of this is period, mind you, but where else can you get t-shirts and patches that say "Kiss Me, I'm a Pirate" and socks patterned with skulls & anchors? How 'bout skull & crossbones bathmats and shower curtains? I even found some fall-front slop-type trousers (with snaps, not buttons-- they're NOT period) at Torrid last week. Run a search on their website with the word "pirate." You won't be disappointed. But there's more, far more, than you'll find with that simple search. If you need to see th…

ok, so I've heard this rumor that there's some squirt guns out there that look like various blunderbusses and other type of period guns. (forgive me iffn' my knowledge of guns is just beyond waaaaay off. I'm more of a slip something into their rum kind of a gal) at any rate, I was wondering iffn' any one has ever come across these squirt guns. I'd have thought that they'd not exist as most squirt guns I've seen are no longer realistic looking or if they have the real shape they're in day glow colors. Thought I'd ask. :) oh, and waterballon crossbows or cannons sound like fun, but I'm having a hard time visualizing how to construct one. Right now, for the cannon …

Here are some sources for reasonably priced Cannon and Cutlasses, and filintlocks: For Cannon try Hern Iron Works. They have the best prices and make the gun tubes Dixie Gun Works sells, but offer a MUCH better price: http://www.hernironworks.com/ Some of the guns used in the filming of MASTER AND COMMANDER, with Russell Crowe, were cast by them. For Cutlasses and some neat period flintlocks try Middlesex Village Trading Co. .Check out their new blunderbuss boarding pistol> They have a Blunderbuss in development now: http://www.middlesexvillagetrading.com/ Loyalist Arms, in Canada, has some new period muskets. This is just part of what they offer: http://www.loya…

I'm looking for a pirate shirt that meets a specific personal requirement. On some of the pirate shirts I've seen the shirt has an opening in the front near the neckline that is laced up. That opening area is normally about 1/10 of the length of the shirt. What I'm looking for is a shirt that is open to at least 1/2 of the length of the shirt, or more[preferably closer to 2/3 down the length of the shirt.] I know Center Stage Costumes has a shirt like the one I'm looking for, and although I would like to get it, I would really like to get one from a vendor closer to Texas, if at all possible. I would also be interested in finding a sewing pattern for a shirt like this…

I'm tired of hearing the neighbors belly-achin', so I needs me some proper seaman's slops. Anyone know where I can get a good pattern? What I'd like are some nice wide slops, complete with a drop front. Actually, I quite like the pair available here, but don't like that they're a poly cotton blend. So patterns? Anybody?

In many Ports of Call desireing a Nautical look to the surroundings they use a large net of rope to provide a fence to the walkway. (Particularly may be seen at Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom around the perimiter of the water to Tom Sawyer's Island) I have looked at it many times and have seen it in other locations, (restaurant, putt-putt golf etc) It looks like one rope is inserted through the other and the other inserted through the first between the lay of the line, to make the intersections for the net. I want to make some to line the railing to my basement as part of the decor for my own "Pyrates Pub" But for the life of me, I can't see how they did that, I can'…

Hawkins me bucko... It warms me wooden leg to see you again mate! Ahem... As a matter of introduction, me name is Long Steve Pyrite and I be a partner in an enterprise going by the name of Port Royal Trading Co. We be currently operatin' as a website only (of the same name) but intend to open our warehouse to the public this year. Our port of call is a large old building, constructed in approx. 1913, which is, in appearance, an old warehouse. Our intentions be to fancy it up to look like a pirate storeroom. We would be grateful for any suggestions of both products and decorating ideas ye might have. Fair Winds & Rich Plunder to ye, Long Steve
