Aye Mateys, Me found a treasure a couple of days ago me thought was lost forever A vintage Pirates of The Caribbean postcard booklet I bought at Disney way back in 83. I went to both parks that year (CA and FL) cuz me mum had these meetings in the areas and took us teens (then) along. In CA I bought me first hat, a hook, a Jolly Roger, the vintage POTC souvenir book, and a couple of those "historical parchment documents" ; one of a treasure map of the east coast and the other called Dead Men Tell No Tales. In Fla I plundered a set o' doubloons, a glow in the dark skull, a set of slides of the ride, and the postcard book. The only things I no longer sail with are t…

Ahoy, Me Fyne Salts! Well, as some of ye might know, I be a perfessional illustrator. Although I currently work for a video game company in Californee...I'm feelin' the itch ter start painting (3D work and pencils are all fine and dandy...But methinks I be wantin' a change). Some are woth hanging...some just worth hanging on to...I'll let you be the judge of that. Anyhoo...I'll be posting some links ter the eBa…

Well I suppose I could make it, but after pricin' material, I think it might be cheaper just to buy one ready made. What I need is a fancy shirt with a good lace ruffled front and sleeve cuffs to go with my frock coat. Anyone got a good site to go to for that and under $65.00 ? Ok... maybe this will sound dumb but I need help. I've been creating hats for years and never really needed to worry about this before, I'm adding to my line to include hats that need blocked to be sized, ie Pirate hats, cavalier hats etc. I've always done my own but paid the price for presized blank, but in the interest of keeping costs down, I need to learn to size them. I know it can be done without all the fance equipment, unfortunately my friend that used to create all our Rev war and furtrade era hats has passed and so I cannot talk to him. I know he sized hats without all the "equipment". I am tenatively going to be vending at a Celtic/Medieval festival in jus…

A Brief History of the Pirate I have been a "Pirate" for a great many years. I have done the research, lived the life and suffered the consequences for my actions. I am What many consider the Last true Pirate in the world. Living life as a Pirate is not an easy task. I have seen many discussion forums on this matter, and Lately I have seen an influx to the "Pirate" way of life, or how hollywood portrays it. I have decided to post this to share a little info. 1. The Pirates Life for me. Contrary to Hollywood or popular belief, Pirates were neither Handsome, or Rougish in nature. Most were underfed, Over worked, and out of life by the time they had seen the…

Got a question for the pirate prop builders out there. I ran across a website awhile back that showed how to make a replica of Jack Sparrow's compass, but lost track of it. Anybody out there know where it might be, or be working on their own copy? Looking for a new project, and I can't find the information(even where I might find some good pictures).

Arrr...it seems a bit unseemly ter haf'ta buy yer own treasure, but it be not as common ta come by as wunst t'was; tho' it still seems ter be ev'ry bit as precious and valyu'ble. This is a site wot has available silver reales and gold escudos in one's, two's, four's, an' th' e'er pop'u'lar, eights (tho' pyrate wisdom says all sizes fits me). Also other miscellanie and divers treasures and trinkets wot bin lib'rated from th' Spanish Galleon "Our Lady of Atocha" circa the year of our Lord, 1622, off'n th' coast of Key West; an other sich laden vessels wot missed out on previous occasions ta be pyrated proper-like. Clap yer deadlights on these loverlies: Forecastle Tre…

Ahoy aloft and alow! Wanting a better quality hat than I could make the first time round. I wanted a well cocked hat, on the order of what clearwater calls a "French" style. I contacted Clearwater in February, sent a money order out right away, and in 8 weeks time (less a day), I recieved my hat. Back in December, the turn around time had been 4 weeks, but he had recieved a rush of orders, which increased the turn around. The hat looks precisely like this (save mine is 'coffee' coloured, as I ordered, rather than black) - You get exactly what you see in the photo, a well cocked hat of high quality. They come with a silk binding, and sweatband, and an adjustable cot…
