so I played the beta for the MMO Piartes of the Burning Sea and the game releases soon. The game wasn't bad, my biggest complaint was well the half nekkid woman characters and the lack of accurate clothing- but the game play was fun and basically ate up 2 weeks of my life so I decided to purchase it. Is anyone else playing? My friends are disappointed I won't play WoW. I have been, against the whole MMO thing since well, I stopped MUDDING in the 90s. But let me know if anyone is playing on the pre-boarding servers, it'd be nice to have a crew around :) someone to attack the english with. if you aren't playing and don't know this- you can be english, spanish, fr…

I was a bit shocked to find issue 5 of Pyrates magazine in my mailbox yesterday. Seeing as I got it only for a year and I rejoiced when issue 4 came. Too much nonsense in it. First off, if it is a subscription then I should probably get it before the pirate festival advertisement is almost a month past! Secondly, could you please have an issue that doesn't deal with POTC? The DVD is out. The trilogy overstayed its welcome. Enough is enough. I do not care nor need to read about a minor actor... nor about how to be the best Jack Sparrow you can be. Know what? Every convention I go to has at least 3 Jack Sparrows at them. Too many. Pyrates Magazine will no lo…

By accident, I happened to watch part of the PBS "Frenchman's Creek" DVD with the "Described Video for the Visually Impaired" audio track turned on. I was quite surprised by how salty some of the description was! On PBS! I've made a video that highlights some of the more amusing bits: Salty Pyrate Love Rated: PG for innuendo Cheers, Hester (aka Pyrate Anny) P.S. I know it's April Fool's Day today, but I swear that that is the real audio track, no tampering!

Hi, all! I absolutely love Daphne du Maurier's pirate romance novel Frenchman's Creek, and the PBS mini-series adapted from it, starring Tara Fitzgerald and the very sexy Anthony Delon as the French pirate captain. I've made a music video with clips from the series, set to the song "The Bold Marauder", written by legendary folk musician Richard Farina and sung by John Kay of Steppenwolf. Here's the link to watch the vid on YouTube: The Bold Marauder Warning: Rated PG for some very tasteful PBS-style semi-nudity. Oh, yeah, and some piratey violence. LOL "Death will be our darling, and fear will be our name!" Cheers, Hester (aka "Pyrate Anny")

Ahoy mateys! Just for fun, I've made a musical fan-video focusing on Captain Hook from the 2003 film Peter Pan. It's set to the piratey/punk song "Tomblands" by The Libertines. Here's the link to see the video on YouTube: Captain Hook: Never{Tomb}land Cheers, Hester (aka "Pyrate Anny") "Pieces of eight in the jukebox!"

Pirates, Buccaneers & Privateers - An English Graphical Bibliography http://www.larryvoyer.com/Piratical/pirate...ges/pirates.htm Ran (stumbled rather) across this site while looking up a book on Pirates. If you like reaing about Pirates or want to do some research, there is a lot here. If it is pirate related, it may well be found listed on this site.

So, I've been horribly addicted to Puzzle Pirates for the last few days...Anyone ever play this? It's hardly a realistic or historical representation of the Golden Age of Piracy, but it is fun nonetheless. I've got a pirate on the "Sage" ocean named Phillipblack if anyone plays this. I'd love to have a little company! Maybe we could even have a pyracy.com crew and ship?

I was havin' some fun with this last night and thought I would share it with everyone here. I don't know if anyone has seen this before: http://apps.pirates.go.com/pirates/v3/#/co...ds_desktop.html It's a fun (dare I say 'cute') little game where you get a little galleon on your desktop and you can do battles. You even get t' choose your ships name and t' color o' t' sails, so choose wisely Unfortunately, it only works on Windows PCs, so if you have a Mac you be out o' luck

I know there was a thread on this somewhere, couldn't find it. But I remember there was talk of the Flying Dutchman being removed from Castaway Cay due to it's state and condition of being idle too long. Tis interesting the videos on YouTube of several people taking video of the Black Pearl in a couple places around So Cal. Where be these two infamous vessels now? I believe someone was pulling my leg when they said the Black Pearl has managed to attend a Tall Ship fest or two along the western coast. Be this a truth or as I suspect, a folly. hehe, we all know thus far what the Lady Washington and the Bounty be up to. ~Lady B

Treasure #1- When PotC was originally opened the skeletons were real, they were obtained from UCLA, but they were replaced later on when Disney had the ability to make a convincing faux skeleton. Treasure #2- The anchor at Laffite's Landing, where you board les bateaux, is supposedly from one of Jean Laffite's ships. Treasure #3- The Cannonballs have left a secret Mickey in the walls of the fort.

"The Pirate Code" a National Geographic Channel two hour documentary on the 'Whydah' airs tonight at 8:00 pm EST. "Salvage expert Barry Clifford attempts to recover the treasures of Black Sam Bellamy's flagship, the Whydah, the first authenticated pirate ship in U.S. waters." I plan to watch it, and hope others can also see it and comment about the content, insights, etc. gleaned from the production. Also, if you know what the 're-broadcast' schedule might be, please post that too, for those who might miss it the first time.
