Attn all you East Coast Pyrates. We are coming up on the Tall Ship Race and it is only 4 months away. Here is some advice from the locals. Got a call from a friend just the other day. IF YOU PLAN ON GETTING INTO THE TOWN OF BEAUFORT GET A PARKING PASS or plan to take a cab. Front St. will be blocked for the festival and there will be no public parking on the water front. Also if you would like to look into getting tickets to park or tour the boats the link is... http://www.pepsiamericassail.com/index.html BUT BE WARNED...the VIP packages are $500 and up, ending at $2,500. On June 30th we will be on the beach of Fort Macon, all day, fishing and watching for the ships…

Two people had serious injuries, Mayor Elizabeth Sabilia said. The rest were non-life-threatening injuries. The driver, Robert Laine, of Wallingford, and a female passenger were not injured. My mates (6+) and I are going to be seeing Pirates of the Caribbean 2 on July 7th at 3:50pm! We'll be dressing up to show our love for these movies, I'm hoping some fellow pirates will do the same. The pics are now up from the Boarding Actions: California (BACA) class held back in May.. Doc, Jag and I are still hard at work doing revisions of the book and working out the details for the photos and illustrations. Also to be included in the next month or so will be a description of what we're phrasing as the Buccaneer Fighting Arts. Very similar to the Frontier Fighting Arts but with a few twists. Look for that, along with pics from Lansing 2006 in September. www.HistoricalMaritimeCombat.com

Not that much of an event, I'll admit, but here in D/FW, we gotta take what we can get. Now, I'm sure this has nothing whatsoever to do with the release of a p'ticular movie, but the Barnes and Noble in Arlington, TX is having a Pirate Day, with the booksellers and all wearing garb - at least them what's got it. The others will be getting by with Hawaiian shirts and leis (and no, I'm sure there won't be a single comment from me asking anyone if they want to get "lei-ed"). It was very, very difficult, of course, but they've talked my better half and I (she actually works there, and would be there anyway, but...) into coming in to do story time for the little ones, an…

I understand that the International Pirate Society is sending in a shipload of mates. In any case, the Baratarians will be there: "there" being the Elmwood Cinema in Metairie on Saturday at 3:15. Those mates who've gotten a bit too much sun and sea spray during the showing are then embarking on a pub crawl in the French Quarter! Capt. William

Just found out about this one through the pipeline. Was kinda suprised not to see it posted anywhere 'round here. If it was my apologies...but since it's takin' place in a couple days I figgered I'd throw it up here fore everyone who may be interested. The Half Moon, Norseman, Martha Lewis, Martha White and of course the Kalmar Nyckel will all be at their shipyard. Not sure if Shaelyn and I will be making it down, but we're gonna do our best. Would be nice to get away for the 4th and invade someone else instead of being invaded for once! http://www.kalmarnyckel.org/GOTS/GOTS.htm

I'm tryin to organize a raid on the POTC2 movie in Iowa. Of course I want it here in my home port, but i was also wondering what I can hope for tie-in's for the movie. Will Burger King get the nod from Disney or will Mcdonald's swim with the fishes? The more tie-ins, the more chances we have of getting something cool! Let me know what to expect for our RAID. Merryd
