So me gun crews and I reported aboard the schooner Quinnipiac bright and early yeasterday morning. Loaded our swivel, Nightingale, and our bastard 3, Cricket, and sailed off to join the British, burning New Haven, CT. This was one of the Rev War 225th anniversary battles and was well attended. When the rebels finally got to the fort to make their final stand, we anchored off t…

The 2004 Blackbeard Festival in Hampton VA is set for June 5 and 6 with the Pyrate Ball on June 4 (Friday night). The festival on Saturday and Sunday is free to attend. Pirate garb is required to attend the Pyrate Ball but precise authenticity isn't required. There is a buffet (included in the price of the ticket) and a cash bar. John Glass (Gov. Spotswood) will have all the details on the website next month. Here is the link to last year's event......2003 Blackbeard Festival - Hampton VA

Is anyone planning to hit either or both of the Blackbeard Festivals (NC, or VA)? I won't be able to make either of them, but would be interested in hearing from anyone who's going this year, or anyone who went in recent years, so I'll know whether it's worth it to go next year! Capt. William

Ahoy! I just wanted you all to know that I attended the Tennessee Renaissance Festival in pirate garb. It was a present from my honey, Sea Bob. I wore a captain's black tricorne with red and black feathers, a red and black corset, black pants and black thigh high boots. My black sash and belt kept my cutlass, money pouch and compass at my side and away from scurvy thieves. My Sea Bob was with me, and dressed in garb as well. He had the poor, pitiful "swabbish" kind of look about him. He carried the blunderbuss and dagger. He also wore a cavalier hat (one pictured in my avatar) with a feather so long that no one could walk or sit behind him without needing an eye…

Whitehaven, Cumbria, North England 14th-15th June. Avast there ye Bilge Rats! This'ere will be P.U.C.A.T.'s second event, so hopefully we should get it right by then. You swabs in the Colonies should know of Whitehaven, as it is the only part of England that has ever been invaded by America, (even if they were led by a Scotsman), I'll give'ee a tip, if ye come's again bring a box of matches. This is usually quite a big show, three or four tall ships, displays by the Royal navy and US navy, (although they may be busy elsewhere this year), and various re-enactment groups, Pirates, Vikings, Napolionic naval etc: Well worth a visit if ye be on this side of the Ocean.
