Fascinating... on multiple levels. What happens, I wonder, when a group of Masters are gathered together in one place? Do some of them get bumped down to Athlete status? If so, has this suddenly become a litmus test for "who is a true Master"? And is anyone truly a master of anything? Have you mastered yourself? And where is that coffee? Or Phil? I could use a good philosophy discussion right about now... Yrs&c, Blackjohn, who knows he has mastered not a single thing, least of all himself.

Couldn't decide where to post this as it isn't really Pyrate related; I will (hopefully) be attending the Battle of Pea Ridge (Elkhorn Tavern) on the Mo./ Ar. border next weekend, Oct 26&27. The "Ahkansaw" Brigade have challenged the "Mizzou-rah" Brigade to a game of Rounders and say they are gonna send us home with our tails tucked. Anyone in the area that wants to come out and see a real fun game played by re-enactors should come on out. For those that are not familiar, "Rounders" is the European game that Baseball was fashioned after. We won't let the Damn Yankees play though, this is a southern thang! Bo

Marty's stepdad is in the final stages of cancer. He's asked for prayers for his stepdad and mom, and I know that Marty could use the prayers as well as this is a most difficult time for all. Thanks

I got to go out sailing this past weekend. I was on a crew of three on a 27'er. I am new to sailing these bigger boats and it was a lot of fun. I got to hoist the main and work the helm. When it came time to tack the Captain let me steer. I ran the turn and he and the other crew worked the jib. When we finished the Captain said that that was done so well that I must be Blackbeard reborn. I have to say that I loved that.

For instance: If we're having a pub party, what do you bring? I start with "A", and the next pirate begins with an item starting with "B". When all 26 letters are up, you add numbers then, i.e. 3 "c"s, 3 "d"s, etc. Easy enough? I'm bringing "A"lcohol.

For the past week I have dreamt about magicians, and I don't know why. And before anyone asks, no I am not a "mind freak" although I do think chris Angels tricks are cool. Anyway the theme (if you want to call it that) is always the same. It is romantic in nature but it is not a "fantasy " type dream. Last week it the dream had lance burton, and this week it is Teller of Pen & teller can someone tell me what it means?

Ok you all, you do know the reality behind pirates. Now I am asking what if any difference there is between Street gangs and Pirates. And the first one that points out that gangs are not on the water will be strung up from the yard arm.

this is going to sound a bit lame on my part but I was so thrilled with this I thought I would share just the same. I am working my first Ren Fest in a couple of months from now (techincally in August of this year) and a few days ago I was out a local gathering to pass out flyers for the up comming event (earth day to be exact). And we all had to be in costume and be in character to help get people to want to come, well I was wearing a bodice and an undershirt with some long legged pants. And I was extermly thrilled to find that I actually can get some clevage, granted its not as big as some other girls that nearly have the bloody things spillling out. But it is somthing …

Last Saturday I went out to see if I can catch few king salmon in Puget Sound which is Washington State. I was trolling along just singing a song when I came by a 21 foot san juan sailboat and noticed nobody aboard, I hailed the boat with no answer returned( thinking it was a beautiful day and maybe a couple was in the cabin having fun). I noticed the cabin door was locked from the outside, and a line was hanging heavy over the bow, I pulled the line up and there were 15 feet of anchor chain and anchor at the end. Well I figured that someone didn't moor it correctly and it started drifting at high tide, so I called the Coast guard and reported it and told them I was gonna…

I am going to launch a new buisness. I am going to build and repair boats. When I am done with a boat I want people to say "They just don't make them like that anymore." I enjoy working in wood and have lots of carpentry experience. I am learning to work in fiberglass so I should have most of the basics covered. Now what I really need is to find the various hardware that boats need. Any questions or advice are welcome.

Can I bring dental floss in my carry-on luggage, or is it considered a lethal weapon these days? Can you actually garotte someone with dental floss, or would it break first?

After 12 years of costuming, I finally received my first "Best Workmanship" award at ShoreLeave this past July. It actually was a shared title with a guy who did Jack Sparrow. Believe you me that I was quite shocked when my name was called. My son wanted to be a character from one of his video games (he is 7 yrs old) and I told him ok. The Character he wanted to be was "Yunsung" from Soul Caliber II. I started in February and worked most weekends right on up to July 10. I don't know how many times I looked at the 360 degrees in the video game. Here are some pictures: Yunsung on wall Yunsung - front view I have only received two other awards for workmanship i…
