^ Metaphorically? One would be lying on the warm wood of a deck looking up at the sails and breathing the breeze from the ocean on a beautiful warm, dry day. Next to me a good glass of wine and even better company.

V I shared a huge Western thunderstom over the phone from several hundred miles away once. It was indescribable..What bit of nature has just stunned you weather, or otherwise?

^ Everything about nature stuns me. I can pick up a leaf and be blown away by how intricate it is. I love the sound of wind in the trees, water in a stream, rain on the roof of our house or deck of our boat. The smell of the ocean. All, and any of it.

< Happy place - sitting on the back of our boat, sipping a fine Shiraz, and reading a good book.

^I was in SW Florida two weeks after hurricane Charley in'04. Looked like a Hiroshima in 1945. Sadly Sanibel Island, the one place in Florida that alsways seemed like paradise, lost all it's palm trees.

^On our sail back from the NorCal Pirate Faire in Vallejo. We hit a storm in the middle of the San Francisco Bay and almost didn't live through the experience. When we made it past the Bay Bridge it suddenly got sunny and calm. Weirdest weather shift I ever saw.

But I also love to listen to the rain pour when I don't have to go out.

^ Gosh, that's a tough one, but...The first cool, crisp mornings of Autum, after a long, hot summer. The air feels and smells different, and the sunlight is starting to mellow.

< Yesterday it was 99 and HOT. Today it's overcast and cool. Go figure.

^ Indian Summer: temps around 25 degrees C., sunshine and balmy breezes. The smell of over-ripe fruit so heady in the air, you could get drunk on it like wine.

< Today was like that, but it's blowing up into a thunderstorm now, as a cold front comes in to presage autumn.

^ Heh it wasn't the weather...it was the company..well at least for part of it. However there was a huge storm one evening. That was alittle scary.

^ No time soon, thankfully. We're enjoying full-on Indian Summer here. Temps predicted in the mid- to high 20s Celsius all week, with lots of sun and balmy breezes.

< However, the humidity is encouraging lots of mould spores, so my nose is running like a tap this morning. I'll appreciate the frost when it kills off the mould.
