Fianally a priate faire out here without an anachronistic Elizabeth I! I'll keep you posted as things develop: Below is a preliminary news release for the upcoming Pirate Festival in August at the Park. The dates are August 27 & 28, 2005. A fall renaissance festival has also been planned for September 10 & 11, 2005. Applications will be on-line next week. NEWS RELEASE Corona, California: Cutthroat Pirates at Corona! The Crossroads Group will present its first ever Pirate Fair the last weekend of August, Saturday and Sunday the 27th & 28th , 2005. The Pirate Fair will run from 11am to 9pm on Saturday and 11am to 6pm on Sunday. Pirates from all over the Southwest will invade Crossroads Riverview Park at 14600 River Road in Corona. Rogue’s Cove from Las Vegas our resident Pirate group at Corona will host the event in conjunction with “No Quarter Given” a Riverside pirate publication. The Fair will cover the time period from 1660 to 1720. This includes Buccaneers and the Golden Age of Pirates. There will be hundreds of costumed Pirates who have docked at “Port Corona” for a weekend of revelry. There will be three stages of Pirate entertainment, cannon demonstrations, pirate grub and grog and plenty of pirate booty to purchase. There will be mock trials, wife auction, plunder auction, pirate games, and many other activities in the streets of village of “Port Corona”. The village takes on an enchanted look after dark on Saturday. Bring a safe light source. All this and more for just $12.00/per adult and $8.00 for kids 6-12 and seniors over 62, children under 6 are free. Acres of free parking and free RV dry camping. Well-behaved pets on leashes are okay.
Rumba Rue Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Might go on Sat. the 27th to Corona, but Sunday has already been spoken for. Also, the dates of Sept. 10 and 11 are the dates of the Tall Ships Festival in Dana Pt.
Pirate Petee Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 So does that meen that it might go on saturday, but definatly on sunday. Or does it meen that Sunday's date is already taken so they can't do it sunday and they might still do it saturday?

Rumba Rue Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 If this pirate faire in Corona turns out really well, it will most certianly signal death to the one in Ojai-especially since Dick Wixon (who runs the Ojai events) has been losing money on the Sept. faires for a long time now. I think he's just about ready to close it down, as the only people showing up are the participants. Dick is making all his money now on the Escondido faires since he's gone to two weekends for spring and fall. And if'n PRP just happens to be next to Stranglehold, heheeee, ol Rumba will most certianly be up to her fine tricks.

Hmmm.....That also be me sister Sabrina's birthday as well, the 27th of August. Perhaps go to Faire on Saturday and do our regular Disneyland trip Sunday. Since having the passport again we're all going to try and get as much use out of it as possible. Get our money's worth, as it were! :)

We'll have 4 shows on Saturday and 3 shows on Sunday. The times and which stage will be posted when I get them. This will be our first paid gig so come out and cheer us on!
