Duchess Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Detroit Rock City."Went away? 'I dwell in darkness without you" and it went away!?" Hey. You guys skipped this one.
Caraccioli Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Sir Beachum sort of hijacked your quote. He's pretty new, so we should probably forgive him. Is it from Pride and Prejudice? The Great Dictator? The Maltese Falcon? "You're supposed to be dead!" "Am I not?"
blackjohn Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 My apologies. I hadn't bothered reading back beyond that quote. You both know when it comes to the "Movie Quotes Game" I'm all for decorum and proper protocol. My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together.
The Doctor Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 "Protocol"? We don't need no stinkin' protocol! Yo ho ho! Or does nobody actually say that?
Theprofessionalpirate99 Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 "Protocol"? We don't need no stinkin' protocol! Arrrrrrg I agree I tip me glass ta ye this round is on me cheers!
blackjohn Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I disagree. As evidenced in the past, in order for this game to work, we need to abide by the rules. Even pirates had rules you two. My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together.
Sir Beachem Quick Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Sorry about the hijacking love. forgiveness is indeed a glorious thing . And yes it is Rocky horror picture show. Sir Beachem Quick, Captain of the . . . . . . a small but dangerous crew.
blackjohn Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Ah, since my guess in the usurper thread was correct, I'll abdicate in favor of Duchess, thus restoring the rightful quote... which was... "Went away? 'I dwell in darkness without you' and it went away!?" My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together.
Sir Beachem Quick Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Ever the gentlemen you are Black John. You give Pirates a good name. Sir Beachem Quick, Captain of the . . . . . . a small but dangerous crew.
Caraccioli Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 As evidenced in the past, in order for this game to work, we need to abide by the rules. Even pirates had rules... Yeah, having several quotes running around at the same time gets confusing. As for the idea that all protocol was summarily dismissed by pirates, that's the stuff of movies and lore. Historical evidence contradicts this as blackjohn suggested. From John Phillips articles: "3. If any Many shall steel any Thing in the Company, or game, to the Value of a Piece of Eight, he shall be marroon'd or shot." Sir Beachum has been very gracious, so what's say we dispense with marooning and shooting for (what I suspect is inadvertently) stealing a turn and just move on. "You're supposed to be dead!" "Am I not?"
Duchess Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Ah, since my guess in the usurper thread was correct, I'll abdicate in favor of Duchess, thus restoring the rightful quote... which was... "Went away? 'I dwell in darkness without you' and it went away!?" And I will simply confess what it is from and turn everything back over to BlackJohn. So that all will be right in the world. The quote is from Willow. I can't figure out why more people haven't seen it, its a great movie.
Sir Beachem Quick Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 See I would never have gotten that one i believe I was drunk most of the time when that movie came out. Sir Beachem Quick, Captain of the . . . . . . a small but dangerous crew.
Caraccioli Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 The quote is from Willow. I can't figure out why more people haven't seen it, its a great movie. I saw it when it was in the theatres. It was about an ewok who finds a baby. "You're supposed to be dead!" "Am I not?"
blackjohn Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Ok. Thanks Duchess. And no, I wouldn't have gotten the Willow quote either. Though in recent years I've come to appreciate the film more (maybe because I haven't seen it in recent years?) The quote now in question... Who said... "Try not to think of it in terms of right and wrong." My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together.
Sir Beachem Quick Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Why you did . . . to me . . . on another thread. Cheaky Monkey! :) Sir Beachem Quick, Captain of the . . . . . . a small but dangerous crew.
Thane Blackthorn Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 The quote now in question...Who said... "Try not to think of it in terms of right and wrong." Morpheous???
blackjohn Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Why you did . . . to me . . . on another thread. Cheaky Monkey! :) Yeah, thanks. I had NO idea what quote to use until I read your post. Then that just flicked into view. My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together.
blackjohn Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 The quote now in question... Who said... "Try not to think of it in terms of right and wrong." Morpheous??? Ahhh... but from which film!?!?!? Go ahead. Your turn. My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together.
