  1. Upon hearing 'bout the trouble in the pub involvin' me mates I grabs the scariest scallywags from me crew 'board the Red Hand and make for the pub. We crashes into the pub. "What be goin' on in here!!!" says I. Behind meself I bring two lads who look more like trees then men who are always sayin' "NI!!!" Another French lad who can taunt like nobody's business. A rather tall man carrying a very menacing banana. And the scariest of the lot, a used boat salesman wearing a very loud plaid jacket. I looks 'ver at me mate Mad Jack and sees the dish rack that he be tied to. Me eyes grow wide like. "Ximinez!!!! Ye scurvy dog!! I be rememberin' that dish rack. That be the one ye tied me to two years past. And now I be seakin' me revenge." says I. Though I not be seein' him straight off I be knowin' he's 'round. "Use the grapes, use the grapes." The tall fella wit the banana be tellin' me. I holds up one hand and starts to count off just how many there be on the other side so to speak. "Let's see here, 1,2,3,4,5,err 6?" I says countin' the six fingers on me one hand. All o sudden like one of the men dressed in a red robe (not Ximinez) come at the tall one wit the banana wit a cornflower blue seat cushion. The tall one let loose o the rope he be holdin' (where it came from I dinna know) and a 16 ton weight falls on the robed man. "Ah, that be showin' him lad." Says I. The French lad looks 'ver at Inigo Montoya and says, "yoor madder was a carbuncle, and yoor fadder smeelt of turtle droppings." At first I be thinkin' I sees a tear in Montoya's eye, and a half crouch into the fetal position. But this Montoya be a strong one and held up under the pressure of the French mans taunts. "Take who'ver ye please lads, but Ximinez is mine." says I.
  2. I agree. No matter what was said Zidane should have let it slide. It was obvious what Materazzi was trying to do. Zidane shouldn't have played right into Materazzi's hands like that. No one will ever know whether or not this cost the French the cup, but it sure didn't help. Zidane has played long enough to know better. For those who didn't see it..... `Blackie`
  3. Syd Barrett, the troubled Pink Floyd co-founder who spent his last years in reclusive anonymity, has died, the band said Tuesday. He was 60. Rest in Peace Syd.
  4. DILLIGAF= Do I Look Like I Give A F*** `Blackie`
  5. You are 58% Taoist You are a Novice Monk / Nun in the Temple of Tao. You have selected the Taoist path, but need to get serious about your education in its philosophy and applications. You have already shown quite a few Taoist tendencies and have great potential! Damn, always a bridesmaid, never a bride. `Blackie`
  6. I'll start by saying, this is not that big of a deal. I've found in most forums that the reader tends to think that the writer is making a bigger deal of "it" than it really is. When in fact the writer is usually just stating opinion. Usually it's the reader who then becomes the poster that ends up taking it to far by reading more into a post than is there, and responds with guns blazing with their short fuses. Now with that said, if you, JoshuaRed, have been following what I've been saying in this thread then you'd know that the title of the thread in question is, IMO, the same as someone sitting behind you in a theatre telling their friend "Hey, watch this, a good part is coming up." Maybe not a spoiler per se, but annoying none the less to the people in front of the talker. And usually it's annoying the talkers friends just as much. It's a spoiler in that something that was supposed to be a surprise, or get a reaction out of the viewer, has lost that element to it to a certain extent, because now it's expected. These directors, writers, and actors worked very hard to get that reaction from the viewers, and now it's been lost. Film is an art form. And as such it should be viewed as the artist intended. Whatever is at the end of the credits of this movie, it was intended as a little surprise for those who stick around to the end. So no, it was not a "friendly tip." It was that annoying jerk behind you saying, "hey a good part is coming up", as if the people next to him, and anyone else within hearing distance, aren't watching the same movie he is. And please, you don't have to concern yourself if I get disappointed that there is nothing at the end of the credits of a movie. Trust me I'll live. `Blackie`
  7. So I shouldn't have joined the forum if I didn't want to see spoilers??? When did this become the POTC forum??? I didn't see that on the URL when I signed up. In fact I didn't even see that on this section of the forum. I thought it was called POP and it delt with all things about Piracy in movies, music, plays, books, etc. I didn't know it was changed to the POTC part of the forum. And does it make a difference when I joined? If I had joined 2 years ago I'd still have the same problem with a thread that has a spoiler for a title. But I guess to some the newer a member is the less their opinion should count. And whether one can reasonably assume that there is something after the credits or not is not the point, which you seem to miss. It's called consideration for others. I have no problem with threads that have spoilers in them, as long as they state as such. The thread I have a problem with is titled, "POTC2 - Wait Until After The Credits!!! Don't rush right out of the theater". That's the title. Where do you see the word "spoiler" in there??? It doesn't because the title itself is the spoiler. So if I'm looking around in this part of the forum, and I don't want to read spoilers what should I do? I generally look at the title of the thread and avoid the ones that say spoiler in them. But if the spoiler is the title then what do I do??? Come on. I'm really interested in hearing your two short fused dubloons worth on that. `Blackie`
  8. I like pirate, or pyrate myself. But if you can't get one of those try one of these. "scalywg"=scallywag "plunder" "bucener"=buccaneer "frebotr"=freebooter "corsair" `Blackie`
  9. I do apologize Thane, my intension was not to 'give away' anything...but to give light to something a bunch of people (dear freinds) missed. With that said...enjoy and get lost in the magic of it all! It's all good. :) And as I stated before someone here at pyracy had already spoiled it by telling everyone about the end credits in the title of a thread. A movie should be an experience. For me it's not all about the main story, but it's just as much about the little things. It's fun to find them. The first time I saw Ferris Bueller's Day Off I didn't know about the little thing at the end of the credits. I just happen to watch all the way to the end. How great was it to find this out. And then for those who missed it, in a way it was great to find out they missed it. Now they just had to watch it again to see that little ending. Knowing about these little things before hand spoils the little surprises that the makers of the movie had intended. They want it to be a surprise. They want it to be in the background. They want to see if you notice. Take any good movie that you have seen a few times. Isn't it great when you notice something you didn't before? Or when someone tells you about something you didn't see in a movie you have seen. Didn't it make you go "Really? That was in there? I have to see that movie again." This is the experience I'm talking about. Anyway, Cheeky, you didn't spoil anything that hadn't already been spoiled. Take care `Blackie`
  10. Please, I hope to keep this thread ****spoiler**** free. The fact that there is a bit at the end of the credits is more than I wanted to know. It doesn't help any when people start a thread with a spoiler in the title. These are just the type of things some people like to find out as they go. It's just as bad as someone in the row behind you saying to their friend next to them "oh, a good part is coming up now." God I hate that. Thanks for the advice. But I been there and done that. Two problems. 1) it's summertime. While this plan has worked for me from time to time it really only works best for 9 months out of the year. When the kiddies be out o school it doesn't work all that well. And 2) I live in a 24 hour town mate. When a movie has this much hype, and it's in the summer, it doesn't matter when you go here. No choice but to wait it out. Now for most movies that come out now a days I do the same. But for some movies, especially those with great special effects you just can't beat the big screen. The movie looses some of what makes it special when you see it any other way. Imagine the first Star Wars. The little ship flies by and then the big imperial battle ship flies by. Priceless moment that. It would never have the same effect had I seen it on the T.V. first. But I do get your point. Try 110 in the shade. That's what I got here, so no I won't be going in any costume either. Total agreement here. :) You give them way to much credit mate. `Blackie`
  11. That was so good. Thanks for sharing that one Matt. It says the guy is gonna sue. How would you like to sit in on that trial? "I object your Honor. The fact that my client ate chili with beans before the surgery is irrelevant!" `Blackie`
  12. I hear ya. I saw the first one the day it came out. I saw the trailer for it 6 months before it came out and said to myself "this one I gotta see" And I waited for it. But you are right. Now with this one there is so much hype about it the theatres can't help but be crowded. It's not the fact that the theatre is crowded that I hate, it's the minority of people in them that just don't give a damn about other people in the theatre who also paid to get in. They act like they are in their own living room. I say kick them out. They can wait for the movie to come out on DVD and watch it in their living room and let the rest of us enjoy the movie. `Blackie`
