I got m'reservations in for our staff and am SO looking forward to this NEW pyratecon. I think a lot of my comfort with the 'con falls upon the shoulders of my good friend "Mad Eye" Mitch Toles. . . he's involved so I'm all in! . . . besides, as a Hollywood-type-person, his connections to the stars coming to the event make me feel secure in PyrateCon being a great event!

I mean, the more stars the better as they are the one thing that makes PyrateCon different from any other pyrate festival. Anyone could set up another festival in New Orleans and have vendors and swordfighting and such. . .but being able to hobknob with some Hollywood folk? THAT's worth the trip alone!

All Hail PyrateCon 08 with Mitch, Andre, Karen and probably lots of folks that are working hard to make this work that I don't know but still want to recognize!

HUZZZAHHHHH!

Yeah, it looks really good this year.

Unfortunately my own crewe just got booked on back to back voyages to the Bahamas and Key West and that's just too many road trips in the space of three weeks.

Enjoy all!

I highly recommend attending this event if at all possible.

How could any pirate pass up the opportunity to walk down Bourbon street pistols and swords in hand. You will feel like a celebrity as every bachelor/et party asks to take a picture with you and your crew.

The Click Clack of boots can be heard for blocks and blocks.

I will cherish those kinds of memories from last year much more then the actual event.

Some pictures of last years even can be seen on the Pirates Magazine's myspace. Video Story Board of last years event coming soon. Give me a week and it will be up on the Videos on the myspace.

Cantankerous Jan and I are now "offically" registered at Pyrate Con. We done gone out and bought the three day boarding pass fer $85 a person.

Thar still be room at the inn (Hampton) at the Pyrate Con rate of $99 a night (a $50 savings). Be sure ye get yer "secret" code that will get ye that rate after ye buy yer tickets.

Thar be a bit of an ill wind blowin in air fares. Right now they be runnin at $350-450 (with taxes and other things attached) a person from just about any place in So-Cal. So,we be passin on our airplane tickets fer now and plan to get them a wee bit latter bettin that they be droppin in price.

There's an update on PyrateCon08 in the Autumn Pyrates Way magazine. . .the OFFICIAL MAGAZINE OF PYRATECON!. . . . you can order a copy at www.pyratesway.com or subscribe. . . . the next issue (Winter) will have even more information on PyrateCon and the Spring issue is THE PyrateCon2008 brochure on all the activities, entertainers, events, vendors and a LOT more! Of course the Summer issue will be the PyrateCon recap and if you're AT PyrateCon, there'll be a really good chance that your photo will be published IN The Pyrates Way magazine!!!

Thus a subscription might be your most inexpensive choice! (I'm just sayin', is all)

GO PYRATECON!

Pirates Magazine finally made it official. We will be there and have a booth next to our Southern California Brethren. We always planned on attending but we decided to show up in full force. Look for an Add of the event in the upcoming issue of Pirates Magazine. We had a blast last year in New Orleans and Can't wait to see old friends and meet plenty new comrads. We had to show up to support our girl Scarlett and can't wait to give burbon street hell...again!

If you want to fly to PyrateCon from Southern California, round trip airfare from San Diego to New Orleans is $267 (total with tax, travel dates 4/17 rtn 4/21) on Travelocity, well today it is, 1/7/08. Who knows about tomorrow?

I hadn't seen this fare before, so I dropped a note here.

Hangin at Execution dock awaits. May yer Life be a long and joyous adventure in gettin there!
As he was about to face the gallows there, the pirate is said to have tossed a sheaf of papers into the crowd, taunting his audience with these final words:

"My treasure to he who can understand."

car caravan for those who feel adventurous....we are planning on leaving on April 14 and a possibility of side-stepping to the Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico on the way to New Orleans.

We are not sure if we are going to camp it along the way at night or find a hotel/motel....but we sure as hell ain't driving straight through to Louisiana without sleep!

Planning to drive down as well, too. It's about a 15 hour drive for me straight south.

I'll fly if I have no other option and I've no way else down there. Which, God knows it will be utterly pricy! $500 so far. :D

But I AM looking forward to PyrateCon with great anticipation.

Gal I'm talking to from Keep To The Code is looking for a ride from the South Carolinas to New Orleans. So, if anyone is driving from that direction, she'd greatly appreciate it.

The Spring Pyrates Way (FREE to all attendees of PyrateCon 2008) will contain. . . .and I'm giving this info away early. . . . . two facing pages just for you to have a spot to collect autographs AND a page or two of contact information so that you can write in the names, addresses and email addys of all the new mates you meet at PyrateCon! We hope to make this issue a major PyrateCon 2008 keepsake to be looked back upon for years to come.

I'm at LAX at the moment, getting ready to fly back east. I spent the weekend working out all the PyrateCon/Pyrates Way details with Karen and André and I have to say that everything is coming together with such class and attention to detail that if you don't have a good time at PyrateCon this year. . . it's your own fault! LOL

OH. . .and got some new ink courtesy of good buddy Clay and Capt. Dave from Studio City Tattoo (big sponsors of both PyrateCon and The Pyrates Way magazine). Scarlett Harlott just loved the ink and in return I "Fudded" her. . . . it's an inside joke between me an m'luv Scarlett.

I'm psyched. . . got my hands on two PyrateCon T shirts (available at their site), which I plan to wear a LOT.

 Last year it was quite fun checking in a box with a dozen custom pirate swords in it. Everyone got quiet when they asked me "whats in the box" and I answered "swords". Never had any issue with it though. They don't seem to like the black powder pistols in Tampa but I had no trouble with them last year in New Orleans.
