  2. Hot Topic is a great place for casual pirate garb. Heck, I've e'en plundered some bits offa their racks fer accents t'me costume! An' thar's nuthin' makes a bloke quite as proud as wippin' out 'is pirate wallet! Ah, ye can show yer pirateyness e'en in civvies!
  3. I had me a goilfriend once, her corset was so tight on her, that I couldn't breathe! Oi! Arrgh! Now that's tight!
  4. LOL Ah hah ha... "Some folks say pyrates steal, and should be feared and hated. I say we're victims of bad press, it's all exaggera'ed! We'd never stab ye in the back [*oof*] we'd never lie or cheat, We're just aboot the nicest guys ye'd ever like t' meet!" LOL! Ah, Ida, m'dear, yer truly a wummin after me own cold, black heart! ("I love to hang 'em high and watch their little feet try to run in the air while their faces turn bluuuuuue......") ARRRGH!
  5. Very nice, luv! Ye turn a phrase as well as ye turn heads! All whilst turning th' town poopside down! Thar be a fine line 'twixt forthright honesty and vanity, doll. Yer just on the correct side of that line. Ah, me dear sweet mudder be proud we be heedin' her advice. :)
  6. Thar ya go lass. As me mudder used to say: "Stick with what ye do best!!!" So ye best add to that list "Looking ravishing." Wouldn't want to disclude yer forte'.... Pillage the village!! Plunder from top t' down under!! Booty...er....Duty? hm....Tooty frooty? P'tooty? Moody? I'll get back t'ye on tha one.

  8. Ah... thankye, Jenny luv, yer a real sweetie. This was the song I was thinking of, I have heard it before. Nice piece.
  9. Well, ye'll just have t'git them so's we can take a gander at 'em, mate!
  10. Aw, thanks Dreamie! You always know just what to do t' make a bloke feel at home. What a sweet lass.
  11. Ahhh, Muppet Treasure Island... good stuff! Me FAV'RIT movie!!! Ah, a lass after me own heart. I just love singin' that song! 'Course, nobody sings it quite like ol' Unky Tim Curry! "When Aye was jest a lad, lookin' for my true vocation.... My farther sed 'now son, this choice deserves de-li-ber-a-tion.... Though you could be a doctor, or perhaps a financier, My boy, why not consider a more challenging career! Hey ho ho......" "Ha HA! Sing it, lads! Show 'em you've been practicing!...." AARRGH!
  12. How does one fish for flies? If there is a fly-tying contest, is it like a steer-roping contest, only requiring much more minute finger dexterity? And while we are at it, who is this 'Will Ruboff' that Mary Poppins was singin aboots an' wishin' good luck, and shakin' hands and all?
  13. Pyrates of the Coast does a stirring rendition of The Water Is Wide. I absolutely love that song. Spitfire, you sing the song beautifully! It is difficult to play along, I gets all sniffly every time she sings it. P.S. to me crewe - I worked up a killer solo for the song. (But you can't prove it in a court of law.) It was just too easy - the song is so beautiful the solo just wrote itself. Unfortunately, DP, the majority of pirate songs were aimed more t'wards the plundering aspects of th' trade. Mebbe we should start a new tradition, eh? Anyone got any words fer a pirate love song? Bring 'em on!!!
  14. Last night's Birthday Bash for "Dreamboat Annie B." was fantastic! If you weren't there, you missed a downright madcap, unrestrained, unruly, riotous, wild good time. Kirkland (the “Land of Kirk” and yuppies) will ne’er be the same. We had the place in the palm of our hands (sometimes literally.) By the end of the night, we were best buddies with everybody in both of the pubs. I even ran into, and reconnected with, some old acquaintances of mine. Tankards overflowed. Beads were strewn about the room on every person like popcorn on Xmas trees. The flashes were going off left and right, and so were the cameras. Wanton merriment, revelry and debauchery ensued. “Wherever there’s a Pyrate, there’s a party. Where there’s a party, sooner or later, there’s a pirate.” -Nigel We were in such demand, it was a challenge to get around to all the people! Unfortunately, I could not find the chastity belt to fit the keys I received for Xmas from the Cap'n and Spitfire - but not fer a lack o' tryin!!! The entire Pyrates of the Coast band, crewe and entourage attended, along with many friends of the crewe. My very favorite beautiful tall gal (and potential recruit – get on it, Lighthouse!!!) was reunited with her beloved “Headrest” again, the original victims of the “Corset Demonstration Squad” were there, and the new recruits…well let’s just say that they are learning the ropes quickly. Bodice shots, anybody? One memorable moment was the spontaneous clearing out a particular group of “pirates” who shall remain nameless (let’s just say they don’t allow women in their ranks. Boooo!) Now we know where Hurricane got his name – talk about “clearing the decks”!!!! Being a pyrate is absolutely the most fun a person can have, legally or illegally, as the case may be. All the men want to be like the pyrates, and all the women want to be with the pyrates. And the wenches….they were the best loved of all. Here’s a toast to my beloved crewe! I adore you! Dreamboat Annie B., I hope you had a really great time, I know I did! (P.S. I want my pictures back!)
  15. I think this "Noah Vale" character has made a LOT of things I have been looking fer....I often wind up at his doorstep when searching fer things.
  16. Congratulations, lass! And welcome back. I am with Unkie Angus - what be yer pHd in? Now we'll 'ave ta call ya "Doctor Jenny G!" How 'bout "Ship's Doctor"???
  17. Wow! Thanks, Cap'n. Thanks Deacon as well. This really helps me out. Your input really helps to build a mental picture of how the weapon was used, so that I can picture the event in my mind, and incorporate that in the illustrations. Have a round on me! [Pun intended!] (Thanks fer allowing me to get off the topic of the thread temporarily.)
  18. Thanks for the feedback mates, and for the picture reference. So then the hammer is on the 'outside' of the pistol? (The right side on a right-handed pistol, left side on a left-handed pistol)? Or in other words, if you had the pistol at your side, the hammer would not be rubbing against your leg.... So it would not be inaccurate to depict a pirate with a right handed pistol in her left hand? She has a sword, but in the drawing it is still in the scabbard. It is a fantasy illustration, however I just don't want it to turn out too hoakey, y'know?
  19. So what are the differences between te right-handed and left-handed flintlock pistols? I am doing a pirate illustartion and the pirate has a flintlock in her left hand. (It just worked out better fot the composition that way.) Is it a difference you would easily see from say, 10-15 feet?
  20. Very exact replica, indeed! Now here's the burning question fer me: Does the hat in the movie have a bucket style crown, or a dome shaped crown? I thought it was a dome shaped. Any thoughts? Speaking of which...My costumer got a great deal on a hide and is offering the black leather tricorn like mine for $150. http://www.pyracy.com/gallery/details.php?image_id=177 http://www.pyracy.com/gallery/details.php?image_id=178 Here is her website: http://members.aol.com/dressmup/ Email her at: DressMup@aol.com Please be sure to tell her that Nigel referred you. Also, take a look at the pics above. Tell me what can I do to get my brim to shape more like Jack Sparrow's hat? Cheers!
  21. I'd like t' help in any way I can offer me services. Keep me posted, mate!
  22. I had similar problems. What a pain in the arse.
  23. I got a File Not Found error. Avast. I grew up not far from South Park, and my band played a now legendary concert there. Ah...memories. So when the series came out, I was greatly amused. They are not too far off the mark with their portrayal. lol
