  1. Here she is! (Amazon's UK site already has the stuff online, but the USA store does not)
  2. Is that the room where all the pirate stuff is? Basically a smaller version of the Pirates Bazaar? It'll be cool once Rusty Blade is there...unless he's there already. I haven't been there since last fall.
  3. Just got my quarterly copy of the Mickey Monitor (annual passholder newsletter that Disney sends out) and it's got some great info on the ride updates, and other things being added at Disney. The article confirms that the ride storyline is being revamped to have Barbossa laying seige to the town on the Pearl, trying to flush Jack out of hiding...because only Jack knows where the treasure is hidden. Jack will pop up throughout the ride. There will also be a ghostly (hologram) apparition of Davy Jones' tentacled mug floating in the air that your boat passes thru. Apparently there will also be a real life Jack Sparrow hanging out in Caribbean Plaza from the rides reopening thru August, who will teach pirating tips to the kids! And as if that wasn't enough, the world's largest Disney Store at the Downtown Disney Marketplace is opening an exclusive pirate area in the store called the Adventure Room. There will be an Audio Animatronic pirate to greet you there called Rusty Blade. In this shop you'll be able to create your own pirate skull (with various POTC head decorations and accessories), create your own pirate hat, and fill your own treasure chest with trinkets and jewels. So it's gearing up to be a pira-tastic summer in Disney....woohoo!!
  4. I thought Disney could do a little better than blatantly ripping off a Frank Schoonover painting.
  5. So I saw Norrington's action figure...what's up with the beard and grungy pirate look? Does he turn pirate in the new film?
  6. May not be true, but it's ACCURATE and a damn fine song!
  7. I'd wager that any ship of the time would have a general catch-all box for miscellaneous weapons that didn't belong to any certain crew member, but just kind of wound up on the ship over time. Basic axes, pikes, assorted knives, maybe some well worn firearms, etc. And in addition the pirates probably kept their own good personal weapons with their personal effects.
  8. Weren't weapons lockers often in the great cabin?
  9. Now THAT sounds perfect. Just perfect. Sancho Panza Maduro and a Guinness, please. You've inspired me. Now I have to run out for some supplies!
  10. No problem! Though I'm sure others can provide far better details than me, I just happen to be the night wanderer still awake at the moment! The Sailing Master was in charge of the running of the ship itself. The trimming of the sails, etc. A navigator would be one who would tell the sailing master where to point the darn thing.
  11. Pirates tended to use the same common ranks of naval & merchant vessels, since that was their common heritage. Captain was in many cases elected, but not always. He had 100% authority in matters of chase and battle. All other issues were subject to vote. 2nd in Command was his mate, or maybe the Quartermaster. Responsible for administering discipline and daily commands as well as being a liason between crew and captain. The Master at Arms was in charge of the firearms and weapons, which may not have played into pirate crews, if you are of the belief that pirates solely tended to their own private weapons....
  12. LOL, I know the Most Haunted crew did, I just watched the episodes...I was asking if the available tours hit the same areas.
  13. Do they hit room 240B, and the lower decks? I assume they spend time in the pool and changing rooms? Thanks for the tip Christine!
  14. LOL I love ya Christine! I just got done watching Most Haunted's 3 week stint on the Queen Mary....some good stuff! I'm flying into Long Beach in 3 weeks for a conference...hoping to hit the Queen Mary myself.
  15. Yeah, coffee was HUGE throughout the GAOP. What I wouldn't give to be able to walk into a perfect recreation early 1700's coffee house!
  16. Yeah, I play it with my son. It's cute. I don't know about DL, but here in DW, you can play VMK on big screens on Main St. USA. They revamped what used to be the Steamboat Willie Theater (vandalism I say! ) and now it's a VMK lounge. So if your pc mutinies, you might check that out! Pirates is fun, you just kinda sail around blasting each other with cannons. I don't remember doing HM...sorry.
  17. Erm, everything you'd ever want to know about our takes on the film can be found right under ye nose...or Here. :)

    Port Tax

Oh of course, any port large enough to maintain a staff of port officials would intercept and board incoming vessels to assess their fees.
  19. That...is...EXCELLENT! Well done Foxe!
  20. Yeah the Dinner Theatre pirates are more "World Wrestling meets Disney's Aladdin"
  21. It's an enlightening experience, eh?
  22. No, but those are all already on scores of shirts, so you want to be careful about infringing on existing design copyrights.
  23. Sadly no. That's one project that's been on my to-do list for a couple years now, but it's pretty labor intensive. I'd have to import the entire VHS into Premiere, break it up into chapters, create a menu, etc...just to get a dvd of a well-worn vhs version. Doesn't seem worth all the work, though I'd love to be able to just pop that in whenever I felt like it. Maybe one of these days TNT will release a DVD series of their original productions.
  24. I've been eyeing the Pedersoli Queen Anne as my first pistol for some time now....and this ringing endorsement just sold me!
