  1. I love long hair on guys, as long as it's well kept. Straggly, unruly, and looking like ye got keelhauled in a lightening storm, just plain sucks. Rumba Rue **If you can't be a good example then you'll just be a horrible warning**
  2. I'll miss seeing all of you, as I will be out of the country at the time. I heard some interesting stories from last year, so I hope to hear some better ones this year! Rumba Rue ** **
  3. This was posted in PIRATE POP. Rumba Rue ** **
  4. I WANT IT! I WANT IT! I WANT IT!!!! Unfortunately my interest in comic books is nill. I went to the San Diego Comic Con, once. Just didn't capture my interest, but I will most eagerly await that Jack Sparrow doll! Rumba Rue **Welcome to the Carribean luv**
  5. After cruisin' the whole site, I think I need a drink... Ah Mr. Scabbs ye be one stick o' a guy. Rumba Rue **Pirate Air, my choice for sure!**
  6. Great site, thank you Bilgemunky! Saw numerous things besides buckles that were interesting. Rumba Rue **Treasures worth taking**
  7. Aye, to the proud papa I raise me mug, and to a fine mama who did the hard work! Rumba Rue **They are so cute when they are small, and then they grow up...**
  8. Well aren't you jest a fine pirate! You tell 'em Phil! Too funny! Rumba Rue **I needed a good laugh**
  9. Interesting sites, unfortunately, I won't be getting to Chicago anytime soon, probably never. Curiosity, I read all the character stuff and other things, but what the heck is the play about? Is there a plot? Rumba Rue ** **
  10. What ye really need is one that folds up inta a nice neat pouch for storage. Rumba Rue **Out of my mind, always**
  11. I be the proud owner of two sets o' Bald Mountian Moccasins. I bought my half black boots when I t'was still workin' S. Faire in Devore many years ago at a discount($400.00) since I t'was working at the fair, the other pair t'was given to me by a good friend. Nice tall tan ones (I know they cost over $800.00) that I occassionaly wear. I've had ta replace the soles on me black boots three times since owning them. I wear out shoe bottoms pretty good. They be comfortable, but very expensive, I certianly couldn't afford them now. Rumba Rue **If at first ye don't succeed, then walkin' the plank isn't for you**
  12. Be sure and click on the Quiz section, there's a POTC one there. Rumba Rue **I saw, I came, I plundered**
  13. I certianly agree with you Iron Bess! The cost of gas here in Calif. is sky high! More than the rest of the states! T'was edging pretty close to $3.00 a gallon a week ago at least here in San Diego! My last look is t'was down to $2.21 this week, at the owner stations, the major ones were still hitting $2.49. I try not to let the gas gauge on my truck get below half, cuz otherwise it will cost me probably over $40.00 to fill it up! As for traveling about like 'Ded Heads' of the Grateful Dead, sorry, I'm not with it or for it. Most places won't let you set up 'shop' and sell without a seller's permit/license required by each city/state. It gets way too complicated to bother with. And forget selling in parking lots of fairs, you'll get your butt kicked off quickly. Rumba Rue **Older and Wiser**
  14. Aw, the best pantaloons are the ones I have made for some gals out of Budwieser cotton material! I mean come on, who's gonna see 'em under a skirt? I've made all kinds of fun ones for gals. :) Especially at Halloween you can get really cute materials with skulls and stuff - great for pantaloons! Great for conversation after hours. Rumba Rue **Deadly, lovable, cutthroat, well two out three ain't bad**
  15. I ended up as a Box Pirate- say whaaat? You are a BOX PIRATE. What is a box pirate, you ask? In short, you're a bored college student who enjoys "stealing" boxes from Wal-mart employees so that you can pack up your stuff at the end of the year. You're basically harmless, although sporting an eyepatch, sneaking up on people, and screaming "ARRRGH!!!" are required. You're weird, but you wouldn't hurt anyone. Pit-toooheeey! Rumba Rue **Obviously, I need another drink**
  16. It does seem pirate quizzes are tops, but besides the one here, check out the others, they are pretty funny. Go to the Quizzes section- if you end up on the home page. http://www.lacota.net/alanna/britquiz.html Rumba Rue **I had a mind once...**
  17. Ah yes, true ta me heart, I be Capt. Jack Sparrow! Rumba Rue **Here's ta me sneaky, piratey ways!**
  18. Great pictures, looks like you had a whole lot of fun! Rumba Rue ** **
  19. Well me dear Wolfy, the main reason there aren't faires in the summer here in Southern California, is because it get WAY TOO HOT! Another is the places faires are held are booked for other reasons. So just hold onto your garb, you'll get to wear it eventually. Rumba Rue **What part of arrggghhhh don't you understand?**
  20. Men in tight pants, what more could a woman ask for? Rumba Rue **Wheeeeeeeeeee!**
  21. I purused just about every hat site on the Costume.org place looking for just the right hat. Some that I had seen like at HatCrafters and Jas Townsend were up in the hundreds of bucks! Let me tell you, I found a few, but when I went to order I discovered many were adding on a 'special' fee that wasn't listed! Anywhere from $25.00 to $45.00! That's insane for a hat that orignally cost $30.00! So buyer beware about extra costs not listed until you get the grand total and find out. Good thing orders can be cancelled! Anyway, I finally found what I wanted for a price more than just affordable. I figured ok, you get what you pay for (the hat sells for $28.95) and expected a rather cheaply made thing. But I got it in the mail yesterday and wow! It's perfect for what I wanted and then some! It's velvet not felt, wonderful glitzy trim, and I'm going to be adding some further stuff to it. Perfect for those costume contests I tend to enter and perfect addition to my frock coat stuff. The really cool thing is it's adjustable to head size - since my size is small it worked out really well. Now I realize most of you don't want something like that, but for me and some others it works well. And dang the price was right! I mean the whole total came to $39.04! Got it at Village Hats, it can be shaped into several styles. It's sold as a Tri-corn/Bi-corn hat. For further looking go to: http://www.villagehatshop.com Rumba Rue **Happy happy joy joy** :)
  22. Uh, it will be nice when they get the pictures up. Rumba Rue ** **
  23. Well I'm one for campy fun stuff. I just watched the DVD I finally got of "The Crimson Pirate" with Burt Lancaster and what a hoot! Some of the best lines, my favorite being: 'What's the point o' havin' a woman on board if we can't 'use' her. It gives piracy a bad name." Ok I might not have the words exact, but I'm close. I can also see numerous scenes where POTC happily stole from it besides the underwater walking ship scene. My other favorites are: Muppets Treasure Island Yellowbeard Cutthroat Island Hook Rumba Rue **We're not pirates, we're independently contracted marine salvage specialists above the water line**
  24. What is done is a reservation is taken. Then when the tickets go on sale the ones with reservations get them first. Also it was four years ago when my friends came out, so things might have changed by then. Rumba Rue ** **
  25. Yo, Privateer, what ship are ye sailin' ? Me thinks by time ye get back from Catalina ye be right thirsty! Unfortunately I can't be there, as by time my friend and I party hearty with PRP on Sat. for a special event we're doing, I'll be wanting ta come back home, as Long Beach be too far for me to go, since I be livin' in San Deigo county. Rumba Rue **Life is what ye make it, so make it happy!**
