  1. I believe tickets for sailing at Tall Ships are running about $40.00. You have to contact the Orange County Marine Institute about sailing. It may be too late now. The sails are filled up by now usually. You have to book those things like in Feb. or earlier! My friends who came out from Arizona one year had to book a year in advance! Anyone wishing to join PRP (Port Royal Privateers) are welcome to do so, but you must be in costume to enter our encampment. Note, it's advisable not wear hoop skirts, we don't have a lot of room and hoops just get in everybody's way. PRP is the ONLY pirate group who are offically to be there. Rumba Rue **Forget the yo ho ho, just gimme the bottle!**
  2. Hmmm, are those wooden Ben-wa balls? I voted for the Cat O' Nine tails, as it seems that a woman's work is never done. Oh and Happy Birthday Connor. Rumba Rue **Another smooth escape disguised as a dramatic exit** :)
  3. There's some great books out there where you can read about your inquiries. However, if you can track down, "The Visual Dictionary of Ships and Sailing", by Dorling Kindersley, it's one of the best. Lots of pictures of stuff and things. I found it in the Kid's section of Barnes and Noble several years ago. Rumba Rue **They were all fine sailing days, but unfortunately there were only ideal for sailing in the wrong direction.**
  4. HAPPY BIRTHDAY YE OL' CHUM! **May your wildest dreams come true!** Rumba Rue **Inside every older person is a younger person, wondering what the hell happened**
  5. I have Hatcrafters catalog, and believe me it's got just about everything one could ever need. Depending on what you want, there's some good priced hats. Rumba Rue **Happy, happy, joy, joy, now give me some rum!**
  6. Hmmmm, those so-call 'experts' seem to be in the 'not an expert' catagory. Obviously, some haven't done their homework. Don't you just hate it when we know more than TV twits do? YES!!! Rumba Rue **I say forget the pillaging and plundering on them types and jest burn 'em**
  7. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Better late than never. Sorry, been a tad busy, ye know real life.... Rumba Rue **Pillage and Plunder, but Always, Always, burn last!!**
  8. Aye if'n I don't make here at least everyday, than I feel like I've missed something! Aye it be a fine fix fer me! Rumba Rue **Young enough to still have fun, old enough not to care**
  9. As much as I be a poet myself, I do agree that a seprate thread for such is better, as it don't quite belong in the Rabble Rousing section here. Perhaps under Pirate Pop etc. As I am feeling a bit inundated with it here. Rumba Rue **I live in my own Fantasyland and they like me**
  10. All the Ren-faires out here in Calif. have Port-a-potties. No getting away from that. Even though the Escondido Faire does have an area with real flushing toilets, the Portas are always brought in to handle the crowds. Sigh.... Well it sounds like that faire may infact be "Endless" in it's perspective to the general public. Rumba Rue **When arrggghh just isn't enough**
  11. It's my understanding that you should provide someplace for people to go to see what you have for sale. All stuff should be handled privately and not on the Boards. Rumba Rue **Smile and make people wonder what you're up to**
  12. Well I ain't no Captian and nor do I want to be! Yup it seems that there be a whole lot o' Captians around. Jest remember, on a pirate ship ye can be voted out! I'll stick to me wenchin' ways and occassional 'picker o' treasure' when the opportunity strikes! Rumba Rue **We're not pirates, we're independently contracted marine salvage specialists above the water line**
  13. I wish I could wear any of those shoes, but alas I cannot wear heels. Plus walking around at events, heels do good for finding all those gopher holes to sink into! Rumba Rue **It's flats for me!**
  14. I rented the DVD recently and both Boats and I agree we really didn't care for it that much. With the exception of Mr. Isaacs, we didn't care for the actors doing Wendy and brothers or Peter himself. Though we did like Tinkerbell's attitude. I kept looking at the hat Hook was wearing and I swear up and down it was a Mexican somboreo that was covered! Rumba Rue **Always make stupid moves it confuses the heck out of the enemy**
  15. Notice how on all these shows true re-enacters are never asked to do them? That's because we all know how! Rumba Rue **Life is what you make it so make it happy!**
  16. And worth repeating again and again! Capt. Grey I love your "hysterically accurate" comment - right on! Rumba Rue **If you can't baffle 'em with brillance, then baffle 'em with you know what!**
  17. Uh I lost track. I say arrggghhhh all the time! Even before I got into pirate stuff! Rumba Rue **What part of arrggghhh don't you understand?**
  18. OH MY GOSH! OH MY GOSH! THOSE POETS SHIRTS ARE EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR! OH MY GOSH! I was so excited at finding these items and for $20.00 bucks each!!! OH MY GOSH! I immediatly purchased two of them! Course I had to join PayPal to do it - arrrgggghhhh, it took me over an hour to register with them! And then I got knocked off line!!! Oh F***k s**t!!!!! Then I couldn't get back on because it was lunchtime and the lines were busy----arrrrggggghhhhh! But finally have managed to secure the deal and whooppeeeee, I got the shirts! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PRINTING THAT SITE, I BOW DOWN TO YOU!!! Rumba Rue **Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!**
  19. Well if'n ye gots a fine body with nice mucles, then the hell with the coat and shirt. Give the women somethin' ta drool over. And I must say, Zorg is right, there's no way in hell I'd be wearin' heavy duty costume stuff in heat and humidity! The groups here in S. Calif. tend to be pretty much on both sides of the line regarding Hollyweird vs. true history. We have people in PRP who dress historically accurate as possible, and then we have some who look like they belong on top of a birthday cake (I've fallen into the cake look occassionally). The public really doesn't care, they just want to see pirates! Rumba Rue **No mind like another**
  20. Arrrggghhhh, yer all soundin' wet. Rumba Rue **What part of arrgggghhh didn't you understand?**
  21. Congrats my dear Lassie! Now you can leave all them little cabin boys behind and go for bigger game! In the meantime I'll share a fine rootbeer soda with ya! Nothin' like givin' a pirate a book on pirates. Now I ask, what can you learn that ye didn't already learn from this site? Ah, never mind.... Sip up me hearty, yo ho! Rumba Rue **My job is to comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable**
  22. Nope. I like my air conditioning in the summer. I like being able to use soft toilet paper. I like my rum smooth and sweet. I like being Pagan. I wouldn't be able to go to Disneyland and ride the Pirates of the Carribean ride! oh for shame! Rumba Rue **Just give me a nice, ice frosted cold beer!**
  23. Ah, Maria, I had to chuckle over this, you see Boats got his identical sword at a Palm Springs faire one year for $35.00. Rumba Rue ** **
  24. Now that's interestin', "American Pirate Association", in Holland? First I've never heard of such an Association - is there one? And second, what are they doing in Holland? Rumba Rue **One glass short of full**
  25. Congradulations! Nothin' like a new cabinboy to train! Rumba Rue ** **
