  1. Good price on those hats, thanks for the site, Gentleman of Fortune. Ok my bitch...why does just about everyone have to have a hat like in POTC? Why do people have to look, act, dress, have similar names, or are 'family' of the Sparrow name? Can't you people come up with something more original?
  2. Hey, great pictures Phil!!!
  3. Here is a reply from Christine Lampe/Jamaica Rose: I just checked with John of Dead Men Tell No Tales (Fern Canyon) and he says this is an old issue and an old message. Here's his reply below: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a very old email from when we were trying to identify the person who was selling items bought from us on eBay as official POTC movie props. We were able to find his identity and reported him to Disney execs. I don't know what, if anything, became of him. EBay showed no interest in stopping his fraud, so unless Disney got after them, he's probably still cheating people. We stopped selling to him once we discovered who he was. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --Christine

  5. My footwear was the most expensive I've shelled out. I have some Bald Mountian moccasins that come up and just above my ankle. At the time they originally cost $550.00. But since I was working the faire at the time I got a discount of $450.00. Of course that was at a time I had money. A friend of mine who moved to Hawaii a few years back, gave me her knee high Bald Mountian moccasins that normally sell for $800.00. I sure did luck out on that. The Bald Mountian shoes are custome made to your foot, as are many other footwear offerings nowadays at faires. They are not cheap, but they fit, and they are comfortable. I've picked up some really cool shoes at K-Mart of all places for about $14.00 that work well too. Depending on what outfit I'm wearing will determine what shoes I wear. As for weapons, my first and only weapon for years was a small eating knife. As time has gone on, I have quite an arsenal now. More knives than ever (a few I've actually found), a sword, gun (not real), and a few other goodies. Ya, like I'm going to wear all of that stuff at one time.....good way to really make my back hurt! As for tankards, hit your nearest Thrift store. There's bound to be plenty of them of all kinds. Hey the ones with the Playboy bunny on them are cute. You might even find one with your real name engraved on it. Geesh I have lots....I use them to fill up my treasure chest for display when needed. I found some really cool wooden goblets at a Thrift store too. I had to tell people to stop giving me mugs, I have an over-flow of them. As for garb, most I've made myself.
  6. I bought a hat blank (at S. Faire) recently (actually found one small enough for my head), and fiddling around with it, it will have to be tacked up to the position I want it. I don't know about others hat blanks, but there's a kind of wavy edging around the brim that I want to cut to be more appropriate. Other than a pair of sharp scissors and careful cutting I can think of no other way to make the brim more round looking. I haven't decided yet how I want to decorate it yet, as I haven't had time.
  7. I can tell you with absolute fact, that sword IS NOT from POTC. I have one, and I know of many others who have them too. I got mine for $125.00 at the Tinderbox smoke shop and gifts, some others have paid more or less for theirs at other places. Rumba
  8. Well considering filming has already begun, me thinks that news be a bit old.
  9. skirts and bloomers **The best kept secrets are in my bloomers** :)

  11. Viagra (it's keeps you up in the needed hard times)
  12. Corsets are fine for the upper ladies and household servants, but for the general gal who is under the 'peasant' flag, a good bodice does just fine. *Note: I have a gorgeous Renaissance Noble Ladies Court dress. I never needed to wear a corset with it. I made a decent V shaped stomacher that is inserted into a 'pocket' inside the bodice that works just fine. In hot weather, the need for more layers of clothing isn't what a gal needs. BTW- The Court dress is for sale-(size 16/18), contact me offline.
  13. Darth Vader lawn sprinkler (I saw it actually advertised at Target...laughed my friggin' head off)
  14. Sadly Fancy, we're both in California. I'm in Southern and Patrick's in Northern. Recently I attempted to try on some Pendragon bodices only to find the largest they go for even an extra large was a size 14. Arrgghhhh! Rather disappointed to say the least. The leather they use is of a very heavy type that will certianly hold you up, but will also make you sweat and melt like a popsicle in the warm sun. Nice, but no thanks. I know there's faires coming up in your part of the world, so go and check them out and see what you can find. Rumba
