Hmmmm, there was just a big gourd event here a few weeks back. Looking at those pictures of the gourds, really fascinated me. I just took one of the Pyrate Rum bottles (which are sort of onion shaped), and had Tony Kopec macrame around it for me. Turned out great...now one of these days I'll remember to bring it to an event.

Petting a pussy~cat. Another young cat deposited in the complex. Very sweet, taking her to the Human Society tomorrow. Can't keep her. She's definately got Siamese, her coloring and body build show it. Has a patch of grey between her ears that runs a tad down her neck and the rest is a white-cream with grey shadowing on her legs and tail. She's got a good personality so she should make a very nice pet for someone...just not me. I have 5 kitties already.

Got a little bit of a shake around 9 AM this morning. Nothing much of a quake. Was reading the morning paper and having a cup of coffee. Probably came from the desert. Back to reading the paper and coffee.

Ok there's a killer heat wave across the country. But here in San Diego, Escondido topped 112 today. Tomorrow similar. That has never happened here. It's like walking out into a blast furnace. I've been to Las Vegas and been in 116 heat, did I notice a difference. Nope. I want to go to the beach! Hmmmm, 40 minutes away, ya me and the rest of the inland dying to find cooler weather. Oh gawd I don't even want to think about how much my electric bill is going to be from having to run the air conditioner almost every day and some nights for the entire month of July. How are the rest of you holding up?

My thoughts. I loved the movie. I felt it was very intense and well done. Yes I caught all the things Iron Bess mentioned to see. Some great lines and laughs, though some were kinda ruined for me because of all the promotion for the film on TV. What I had a really hard time with was what Tia Dalma was saying. I don't know if it was the sound system in the theater or just my bad hearing. But most of what she said I couldn't understand. I loved the cliffhanger ending. I was actually almost cheering when I saw Barbossa. I also thought the flim flash at the end of the credits was cute.
