Aye, a toast to Capt'n Slappy and Old Chumbucket - and the wenches what keeps yer site afloat (I knows the power behind the mast, ye scurvey sea dogs). I likes the weekend fer talkin' and playin' pirate; we be able to see many more pirate movies over ter weekend than just one night. Arrrrrrr.

Arrrrr. It touches me hard pirate heart the way ye hearties be helpin' this poor lad. Accordin' to me pirate books, pirates what lost a limb be compensated, and I says ye have compensated this lad in fine pirate style. This be a good omen as I be off to Children's Hospital tomorrow with the Stormtroopers ter make the sick ones feel better fer a while.

Capt Grey replied to TalesOfTheSevenSeas's topic in Event Discussions

Capt Grey replied to TalesOfTheSevenSeas's topic in September
It not be the pirate, lass, it be the TREASURE! And remember, dead men tall no tales.... I ain't goin' ter be able to sail into these waters this weekend, hosting a Costuming Workshop this Saturday. -
I be thinkin' a bota bag be the right rig to carry fer ye thirst, matey. But I not be as educated in piritical ways or historical accuracy as the fine mates on this here board.

The Piratical Needle: Whatcha sewin?
Capt Grey replied to Lucky Penny Hawkings's topic in Thieves Market
Arrrgh. I be hip deep in Jedi robes fer All Hallow's Eve. Gots three of them ter make. But it be all straight sewin'. Then there be Darth Vader's cloak ter finish before the month-end - it not be wise upsettin' a Dark Lord. Soon I'll be sewin' a black sail fer the mast we be puttin' in the front yard, and all the clothes fer the "skeleton" crew. I still be collectin' plunder fer the treasure chest. Then in November it be sewin' fer the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King openin'. Me Star Wars shipmates and I be attendin' a marathon of all three movies on December 16th. I be makin' sure I be comfortable for 10 hours o' movie-watchin'. -

Try looking on eBay. I used to buy a lot of semi-precious jewelry to accessorize my work apparel and I remember looking for chains to put pendants on. Sellers who deal in jewelry usually have several types of chain styles. It's also less expensive than a jewelry or department store. :)

I finally found me a fittin' avatar. Arrr.

I were wearin' me button the whole day and come suppertime me crew - first mate and cabin boys - gots our pirate togs on and sailed our vessel ter a party with me other shipmates. I brought plunder from a pirates' favorite resturaunt - Arrrrrby's, and there be grog and food aplenty that the others brought. Many sea dogs were there in pirate dress and we be watchin' pirate movies on a 10 foot screen with surround sound. Arrr. The first movie were "Blackbeard's Ghost" for the cabin boys and girls, then it were "The Pirate Movie" (not my choice - it were a vote and I be losin' it), and finally, "Captain Blood". It be the next day by my timepiece by the time we set sail fer home. I be postin' pictures when I gets them.

I be no longer sellin' these here boots. A lassie up Modesto (California) way did "steal" them from me. Just like a good pirate! Would the moderators be so kind as to delete this thread. Thank'ee.

I be drinkin' a toast to yer birthday, lassie. As a wise adventurer said: "It ain't the years, it's the miles."
-
A toast to ye birthday, mate.
-
The request was for "pirate movies", not necessarily good pirate movies...
-
Pre-ordering doesn't get ye the goods any earlier; the release date be carved in stone and them legal pirates be a bloodthirsty mob who'll keelhaul any retailer what delivers the goods a day early. It just be guaranteein' ye gets a copy in case the store runs dry.

Steer yer cyber-vessel to these waters: http://talklikeapirate.com/tlapd03.html#partykit I made some stickers using this graphic and printing it on a full sheet of label paper - the one that doesn't have any pre-cut shapes. YOu can fit six pictures of the graphic on one page and I have a template if anyone is interested. I'm giving a bunch to my son's 3rd grade class on Friday. Arrrr

Capt Grey replied to TalesOfTheSevenSeas's topic in Thieves Market
I doff me hat to ye, Seven Seas, and to yer fine first mate. That be a nice bit o' plunder for under $30. I be lookin' forward to seein' pictures of the "restoration". -
Ahoy maties! I be talkin' with the fine lassies that keep the "Talk Like a Pirate" website and they be good enough to put up me graphic in their party kit page. I asked fer leave to be usin' some o' their graphics to make a button to celebrate the day - and let the lubbers know why I be talkin' the way I be talkin' on the 19th.

Favorite movies ever or Da dadada dadadadadada
Capt Grey replied to AliasGraceO'Malley's topic in Pyrate Pop
Xanadu? Really? I've been spending the last 25+ years denying I ever saw that. And you mean to say there are other movies besides Star Wars?! I'm as eclectic as the rest of you: Star Wars (all) Indiana Jones (without Temple) 3 & 4 Musketeers (Richard Lester is the only one who got it right) Harry Potter (got me a look-a-like for a cabin boy!) LOTR (can't wait for December!) Star Trek movies 2-6 Sherlock Holmes (Jeremy Brett versions by Granada Television) James Bond Spy Kids The Muppet Movie (1979) And ye can't be forgettin' that fine seaman, Captain Gregg, from the original movie "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" (Ray Harrison, Gene Tierney) Arrrr.
