  1. Year 'round perhaps but, since we lack the historical connection, our pyracy trends more towards the fantasy/Hollywood variety.
  2. 1) Thanks! That helps. I'm just surprised it holds fast. 2) Great kit! 3) Damn! You guys have it good on that other coast!
  3. Nor had I...it just came to me while looking at the parts...then today I found this: http://www.loyalistarms.freeservers.com/index.html Look at the gun in the upper left hand corner...I think it's later (percussion?), but it has the same I'm idea going... I'm not getting a clear picture of what yer describing...I keep seeing the pistols slipping out from the ribbons tied around their handles...might have to wait until I actually have one in hand to understand yer concept...
  4. Dharma Trading also offers a 14x72 piece of hemmed silk, in either black or white, that the sewing impaired such as myself fynd make a very economical & serviceable cravat...
  5. Looking at the Pedersoli Queen Anne kit parts, the first thing that come to my mind is replacing the screw that holds the brass grotesque to the butt with a screw eye, and using that to attach a ribbon to hold the gun to my belt when dropped hastily. Is this too modern?
  6. This has got me totally inspired to mod a QA myself. Any of you muzzeloaders got ideas about what he used on the steel? Gun brown? Gun blue?
  7. Happy birthday mate!
  8. Well then, it's rhum cake and praline sauce for all! Careful where you spill that sauce! It's sticky and takes a lot of licks to clean up! Thank ye kindly for all the greetings! Ransom: last year really set the bar high! Now...when will these pigs I keep stealing show up in my inventory!?! And what level do I have to reach before I can buy a barbeque?
  9. Patrick, I just finished reading through this thread for the first time. Keep us posted on the RV project. I lived several years in an old bread van (Ford P400? - it was some time ago...) I converted to an RV. Your pyrate caravan will be much more spacious!
  10. Don't know about the game, but sounds like a fyne character name!
  11. Besides clocking, were other decorations or fancy weaves, such as ribbing or chevrons used in this period?
  12. Ah! Thank you Lily for the explanation. No Dorian, I was not called a bunny, but I saw someone looking for one. Here in the NW, some are notorious for bunnies on pyrate ships. I will apply to the Sea Warriors. I am QM James in the game.
  13. Alrighty now...I've been mucking about in the ports a few days now; committing various crimes and whatnot. Still not sure how the crew/gang thing works. Is there a pub gang? Oh yeah...what the heck is a "bunny"?
  14. Sorry, the heard is going to have to wait a while... I'm better at buildin' than I am at playin'!
  15. Okay, okay...I'm checking it out...
  16. I got mine from Godwin: http://www.gggodwin.com/
  17. Proof lass! Where's the photo?
  18. A "prequel" could tell further stories of Capt Jack & Barbossa and not involve Will or Elizabeth...might even end with Jack being marooned on some island...
  19. Back from being shipwrecked for about a year, I just found this thread. What are the system requirements for this game?
  20. I've lost 20 pounds since Halloween, and have 20 more to go...count me in! Are you sure there were no Raw Vegan Buddhist Pyrates?
  21. Hello Ransom lass! Why, I've been shipwrecked...in Milwaukie no less! Good to see you around too. Looks like we won't be resting in the arms of the sea this winter, but maybe I'll see you in September? Anyway, why just bucket shoes? Because what I was thinking of here was not another fashion magazine story on pirate chic, which I see we all love in its many and varied forms, but actually bringing dress shoes with buckles back in style.
  22. While marooned this long time, I did finally finish the banjo project:
  23. Sure, we've all been to the Quickie-Mart in kit, but what about wearing your buckle shoes with your workday suit? Let's make buckle shoes fashion forward!
  24. Addendum: after fiddling with the buckles again last night, I revisited the installation instructions. Damn! Taking them off and putting them on correctly made a real world of improvement! For those who were wondering, yes it is possible to wear your buckles backwards a whole year! I think you're on to something there, Capt. Bo...leather doesn't drill too well!
