2 years ago (seems so long now) I went down to Tampa to attending the cattle call fer the first PotC. I was heartbroken that I wasn't cast... And then I found out that I was too pretty to be one of the ugly, scuzzy pirates. So I felt better. Eh... I'm rambling in my old age.

ARRR! I be back from me slumber to weigh in on this... I dinna know if the TV thing be real or not... but I for one see a TV show as... well it wouldn't involve Sparrow or Turner at all. I can see it involving a young, teen Sparrow with a younger Barbossa maybe... As fer the toys. 'Cause I knows me toys. I believe NECA is doing them. Much like MacFarlane, they're great to look at, but not very playable. If ye wants a nice pyrate toy... I would recommend waiting a month or 2 for Sideshow toys to release their Blackbeard (historically accurate) 12 inch figure. It be a thing of beauty to behold! ARRRR!

Well, they did an open casting call last year about this time for the first movie. It was hours in the sun.... then take yer shirt off, speak into the camera.... Don't call us, we'll call you. 'Twas the first time I was told I was *Too good looking* for a role. They want really ugly, nasty, messed up pirates. No makeup.

Elizabeth sits on the throne. Her chief of intelligence is one Sir Nicholas Fury. His assistant is a young lad named Peter Parquagh, budding scientist... he likes spiders. There's a blind bard named Matthew Murdock. Dr Steven Strange is the royal physician... and mystic. Professor Javier leads a boy's school.... for the Witchbreed, which is being hunted by the Inquisition. But what about the menace from Latveria and Count Otto "The Handsome" VonDoom? Who do you recognize and did history... *gasp* just become fun?!

Have ye been hearing the buzz from th' boys at CrossGen comics about their new comic "El Cazador"? Pirates! Aye! Not like their typical Crossgen stuff, it tries to be historical and not some fantasy world. Th' stuff I've seen on it is beautiful!

I clean my swords like so: WD40 Green Scrubbie thing fer yer dishes (that be it's technical term) Apply wd40, scrub with scrubbie thing. scrub, duh. Wipe off with a clean towel (one ye don't mind ruinin'), but I use old white socks. Then use the sandpaper like the others recommend, only if ye wants to and the wd40 and scrubbie don't work. Then I apply gun oil with an old, white sock (different from the one used above).

Lilywhite: Aye... ev'm though I'm not allowed te post there enymore. Coyote: none yet. 7th Sea is it's own universe... Haven't found any other than 7th sea that strikes my fancy game-wise.

Alright folks I've been dying to ask this question... What do some many of ye think "Swashbuckler" is a good movie?

Well crewe... we all know that Pirates is a grand film that's been out fer about 3 months now.... but now, it's NO LONGER IN THE TOP 10. Shame on all of ye! Ye scurellous scalliwags! Ye Shameful Salamanders! It's currently #17 for top grossin' movie of all time in th' USA however. An that's a good thing... but it needs to get a tad higher! A lot more higher! I know that it's still in theatres laddies and lassies! I saw it fer the 10th time last night, and then I saw that delightful feller who fights like a Rock. Anyways, gets backs ta werk ya Venomous villains! Go see th' movie again! Right now!

Well the term is also used in the 7th Sea rpg and ccg. However a lot of pirate books of olden days aren't online.

I was sent on a quest to see if the term "brute squad" was historically accurate, and if it existed prior to the 1980s (or whenever) printing of "The Princess Bride". Have fun storming the castle!

Aye... and I like nods to other movies... like when Will and Jack get surrounded by soldiers and Will. turns around knocking their swords and bayonets away... very much like Legolas when surrounded by Rohirrim in The Two Towers. But I almost got up and walked out of the theatre when Depp said "Savvy" in "Once Upon a Time in Mexico". :angry:
